With the rapid growth of modern technology in all facets of trade and industry, traditional auditing systems can no longer meet today’s ever-increasing technological requirements; contemporary auditing is in urgent need of straightforward and quick cloud computing services to meet the needs of auditors. In keeping with current trends, auditors must be provided with the means of using data and auditing information stored in cloud systems for more efficient and elastic auditing. However, the risks involved in cloud computing auditing are widespread and complex. Dimensions should be established, a mutually influential relationship used to delineate the influence weights of the dimensions and criteria should be determined. To this end, a Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) model can precisely solve multi-criteria problems simultaneously. Therefore, the main focus of this study is to determine how to assess and establish the best improvement strategies to achieve the aspiration level for cloud auditing risk factors, by using the opinions and practical experience of China’s accounting experts, applied with a Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique, DEMATEL-based ANP (DANP) and modified VIKOR method. The results provide cloud auditing risks with a knowledge-based understanding of the problem sources in order to establish the best improvement strategies for reducing risk-auditing performance gaps and attaining the aspiration levels. Based on the degree of impact of the dimensions/criteria on an Influence Network Relation Map (INRM), improvements should be prioritized as follows: system operations, technology risks, identity and access management and data protection.

Recycling will become more and more important in the future. To fulfill the requirements of a more efficient recycling process and thus enable an eco-friendly handling of resources, modern technologies can be used. One of these modern technology streams is called Industry 4.0. This paper presents an approach to how Industry 4.0 can be integrated into recycling processes, resulting in Recycling 4.0. Electric vehicles and their traction batteries are used as an example. To enable a more efficient disassembly and recycling of these traction batteries, information about the battery is exchanged along the supply chain. A key issue is the development of a marketplace to exchange the information. Another topic is the connection of a robot to the information marketplace. On the one hand, the robot can get information from the marketplace for decision-making in the disassembly of traction batteries. On the other hand, the robotic system is capable of analyzing the condition of the battery, so it is also possible to transmit information from the robot to the information marketplace.

The e-government (short form of electronic government) is a new term which is about the process for decision making and implementing through modern technology. E government refers to improve the efficiency, ensure the accountability, transparency effectiveness of government through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It is in this context, the study of e-government has become very important in the literature of social sciences, administrative sciences and public policy studies. In the present scenario, e-government is already in its second decade. More or less all countries around the world are introducing the e-government as a tool for reducing cost, saving time, improving social services and increasing efficiency and effectiveness of public sector. E-government is a comparatively new concept in Pakistan. However, being a developing country, it is facing serious problems regarding adoption of e-government in public services delivery. The underlying aim of this study is to analyze the issues related to electronic governance while focusing on the challenges hindering informed decision making and good governance in Pakistan.

Today, educational institutions follow modern technology and use technological products such as smart board and tablet computer widely as education tools owing to the rapidly developing technology. The lessons supported by these technologies, make learning more effective by influencing student motivation positively. In that scope, the discussed developing technology and its innovative tools will help to improve the quality of education in the long term and contribute to the development of the different skills of the students. In this study, tablet computer selection problem of a high school located in Denizli, Turkey will be analyzed deeply. That determined high school decided to use tablet computers in the lessons as an education tool and the school management aimed to select the most suitable tablet computer to give their students. In this context, tablet computer alternatives have been assessed by an integrated approach based on the combined use of two MCDM (Multi Criteria Decision Making) methods; AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and OCRA (Operational Competitiveness RAting). The weights of the criteria were determined with AHP method, then OCRA method was used to rank tablet computer alternatives. The school management has been guided in the selection process of the most suitable tablet computer for their students. They found the search results satisfactory and decided to buy the selected tablet computer by the integrated MCDM method proposed in this study.

The environment determines the existence of a man who nowadays is considered to be the main, sometimes the only protagonist of transformations. Man tied its existence with nature, depends upon it, but at the same time conditioned its existence from his good or ill will. He possess the tools and knowledge about the possibilities of its transformation and even annihilation. That is why he occupies a unique position in the universe. Efforts to protect the living environment must be multidirectional and coordinated. It is possible that in future modern biotechnology will be the solution for balanced development, which provides the possibility to exercise control over the economy and scientific research. Decision-making in this area involves the responsibility of international institutions, governments and citizens. Ergo, it is important that the development and use of modern technology, knowledge and skills, are performed in conditions which ensure maximum safety and without any rebounds to humans and their living environment.

Abstract Background. Lower birth rates and increasing longevity have resulted in ageing populations in European countries. These demographic changes place challenges on pension provision as numbers of those who are economically inactive and retired increase relative to those in paid work. Therefore, governments need workers to postpone retirement and work to older ages. Whilst health and wealth are important in retirement decision-making, considerably less is known about the effects of workplace factors. The aim of this study was to explore the views of recent UK retirees about the role that work-related factors played in their decision to retire. Methods This qualitative study was nested within the Health and Employment After Fifty (HEAF) cohort. People who had retired 3–6 years previously (not for health reasons) were purposively sampled to obtain the views of men and women from a range of socio-economic backgrounds and jobs. Semi-structured interviews were carried out by telephone using a pre-defined topic guide. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed and analysed thematically. Results Seventeen interviews were conducted. Thematic analysis showed that retirement decisions were complex and multi-factorial but that work-related factors contributed to decision-making in two main ways. First, some work factors pushed participants towards retirement. These were perceptions that: workplace change had affected the way they were valued or increased pressure on them; work demands, including commuting, had intruded excessively on personal time, effects that were exacerbated by modern technology; work was draining, isolating or under-appreciated; and /or that work was causing physical strain or discomfort relative to their perception of their capacity. In contrast, work factors could also cause participants to pull back towards work, particularly: autonomy; supportive work colleagues; a sense of being appreciated; and perceived job flexibility. Conclusions Recent retirees explained that their decision to retire was multi-factorial but work-related factors contributed importantly. Potentially, employers could: review workers’ perceptions about their work; their capacity in relation to job demands; increase flexibility; and facilitate a supportive work community to encourage longer working lives.

This research paper discusses about the application of Web-Based Geographical Information System (GIS), an ICT tool for electronic business; particularly through Internet, with a future plan to develop e-promotion and strategic marketing by implementing Web GIS tools for Geobusiness. In the context of e-business, this present study penetrates the usage of GIS to disseminate maximum level of information to the customers. On the other hand, it depicts the growing incorporation of GIS in target marketing, business management, and strategic decision-making processes. It discusses how this modern Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) tool is used for collecting and analyzing information for the efficient and effective management and promotion of e-commerce. Geographical Information System (GIS) is the fundamental science and technology for Geo Design, a systematic methodology of Geographic planning and decision making. Web GIS is the modern technology for capturing, storing, retrieving, mapping and analyzing spatial and non-spatial geographical data in the digital format over the internet. It provides all the GIS functions over the Web, these functions can, in turn, be applied in various sectors of e-business. This paper highlights on the technical aspects of Web GIS for strategic planning, daily business operations, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, improving efficiency and attaining competitive advantage for business organizations.
