The characteristic properties of stem cells – notably their ability to self-renew and to differentiate – have meant that they have traditionally been viewed as distinct from most other types of cells. However, recent research has blurred the line between stem cells and other cells by showing that the former display a range of behaviors in different tissues and at different stages of development. Here, we use the tools of metaphysics to describe a classification scheme for stem cells, and to highlight what their inherent diversity means for cancer treatment.

The purpose of this article is to know the current interactivity options in online newspapers. To do this, we analyze the concept of (structural) interactivity and establish a measuring tool based on some previous methodologies. This model includes a classification of newspapers into stages of development. In this way, we provide a tool, which allows media firms to know the degree of interactivity in newspapers, assessing what dimensions and parameters are being incorporated. It was applied to a sample of 21 online newspapers. Results show poor implementation of participation and customization options. There is a niche to be covered by sections of user-generated content and closer collaboration journalists-citizens. It will require a real adaptation to the new possibilities of interaction with readers at different levels of involvement and participation. The majority of newspapers are classified in a digital stage and some of them are close to the multimedia phase.

Introduction. The emergence of cryptocurrencies was preceded by the development of other varieties of virtual currencies, including game currencies, which were purely electronic and independent of government influence. Research of virtual currencies is the basis for understanding the essence of modern cryptocurrency, determining their status, identifying major risks and threats associated with their circulation. The purpose of the article is to study the nature and evolution of virtual currencies, approaches to their classification, and to analyze common and distinctive features of gaming currencies and cryptocurrencies as the main varieties of virtual money. Results. It is determined that the predecessors of the cryptocurrencies are game currencies, which are digital means of payment for specific categories of virtual goods and services in virtual stores and relevant multiplayer online games. The main stages of the development of virtual currencies after the emergence of game currencies include the launch of a game card trading exchange, the launch of bitcoin, the creation of a cryptoexchange market, the emergence of cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin, the first regulatory issues regarding bitcoin and the current stage of growth of the cryptocurrency market. Based on the analysis of game currency and cryptocurrency, the common and distinctive features of these varieties of virtual money are identified. It is found out that the main common features of cryptocurrencies and game currencies are the absence of state influence on their issue and the anonymity of operations. The differences between cryptocurrency and game currency are the purpose of creation, the method of emission, the mechanism of monitoring the emission, the accounting of transactions with virtual money, etc. The article presents the classification of types of virtual currencies, based on the type of issuer (centralized and decentralized) and the nature of circulation or convertibility into fiat money (convertible and non-convertible). Conclusion. Virtual currencies have undergone several stages of development since the 1990s. The most developed and widespread form of virtual money nowadays is cryptocurrency.

In this paper we established a distinction between the various terms used to characterize clusters of firms. Once in the literature, we identified that the terms, Local Productive Arrangements (LPA) and Local Production Systems (LPS) are used interchangeably. However, these terminologies refer to different stages of development of territorial agglomerations of firms. In the same way, the agglomeration of businesses belonging to a same production chain in a particular region would not necessarily characterize an LPA or LPS. The aim of this paper was to demonstrate the need to combine methods and variables to draw a more accurate and comprehensive territorial productive situation allowing the classification of clusters according to their stage of development and institutional structure. For that purpose, the strength of cooperation between local professionals was considered as a major factor, which creates a competitive advantage that requires exogenous interests to make use of the endogenous capabilities strategically developed and cultivated.

This article examines the concept of perfectionism as a pathological research problem. The analysis of the beginning of the genesis of pathological perfectionism at the early stages of development is given. Following this logic, the results of a study of the role of parental influence and upbringing on the formation of perfectionism in children as a personality trait are presented. A classification of parenting methods influencing the development of perfectionism in a child is given. The analysis of four types of parental behavior that have an impact on the formation of patterns of perfectionism in the child's thinking is carried out.

The article examines a wide range of sources of law of different law families on the different stages of development of law and state. Several types of classification of law sources are found - by value and role of the source in law system, by its external appearance, by order of enactment and registration of the change in its content. By the role in law system several gradations of sources are discovered: main and additional, dominant and auxiliary. By appearance sources can be divided to written and unwritten, formal and informal, structured and unstructured. By order of enactment and registration of the changes sources can be divided to consensus, unilateral and sanctioned, sole, collegial and mixed, as well as flexible and rigid.

The paper considers the features of estimating the market value of mining companies, as well as the classification of the methods used for this purpose. The author prove that each of them has its own specifics, and for each type of enterprise development, the corresponding method should be applied.

The progress of modern methods the vitreomacular interface (VMI) visualization, clinical and histopathological studies are constantly expanding our understanding of the course of the macular pathological process. At the same time, the diagnostic and classification schemes we use may lose their relevance without reflecting the pathogenesis of the disease, complicating the choice of treatment tactics, and also complicating professional communication when we using various classification approaches. Aim. To offer our views on the possibility of creating a unified clinical classification of primary surgical pathology of VMI. Material and methods. Research papers related to the surgical pathology of VMI were analyzed. Results. The main role in the development of VMI pathology belongs to the vitreous body and the changes that occur in it, leading to posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). Pathological PVD is a variant of vitreomacular adhesion: vitreoschisis or separation of the entire thickness of the posterior cortex with the presence of local vitreoretinal fixation. In the first case, an epiretinal membrane (ERM) develops, which can progress to an ERM with macular pseudohole or to an ERM with foveoschisis. In the second case, pathological PVD is realized in vitreomacular traction (VMT). Depending on various factors, VMT can resolve both asymptomatically and with the formation of a defect in the retinal tissue, leading to outer lamellar macular hole (outer LMH) and the subsequent formation of a full-thickness macular hole (FTMH). If the traction does not cause strong changes, then it, disrupting the architectonics of the retina, triggers the processes leading to the LMH (which was previously called degenerative LMH), and it, in turn, in rare cases, can also become FTMH. Conclusions. We proposed the combined clinical classification scheme of VMI primary surgical pathology, which more fully reflects modern ideas about pathogenesis and allows, based on OCT data, to more clearly differentiate macular changes requiring a various surgical approach. Key words: PPV, vitreomacular interface, classification, VMT, epiretinal membrane, ERM, pseudohole, macular hole.
