In the discipline of Islamic law research, strong proofing and clear Istinbat method are key pillars in the construction of Islamic law based on the application of the science of usul al-fiqh and maqasid al-shari'ah. However, what happens at the state of Johor’s fatwa institution is the opposite. The fatwa research methods applied by the Fatwa Committee of Johor in resolving current fatwa issues is not based on the right and true discipline of Islamic law research. In fact, current inputs related to fatwa issues are not explicitly stated in the method of determining the law either in the form of reality or scientifically verified. Therefore, this paper will discuss the fatwa procedures undertaken by the Fatwa Committee of Johor based on the methods applied in resolving current issues. The research methodology adopted is library and interview methods. This study shows that fatwa management and production in the state of Johor is placed under the jurisdiction of the Mufti of Johor’s Department. The methods adopted by the Fatwa Committee of Johor covers two methods, namely: internal research methods including literature review through the application of original source and proofs based on syarak. Second: field research method that includes an external review or going to the location of study such as conducting observation, questionnaires and interviews including referrals to specialists of different fields. Maslahah and mafsdah consideration are also implemented by the Fatwa Committee in every fatwa decision based on the standard that meets the interests of maqasid al-shari'ah. This paper presents research on the influence that organisational behaviour and workplace culture have on the success of and barriers faced by adopting telework within the B2C e-business context among organisations in Australia, Singapore and American based organisations in Singapore. This qualitative study used interview methods to determine success factors and barriers in adopting telework. A total of 16 participants were interviewed in the study and the outcomes highlight differences in the work-related values according to the respective cultural backgrounds of managers and employees. These findings create new possibilities for research on how telework success and barriers to success are perceived since a major existing limitation of the telework literature is that organisational theory has been largely ignored.

This report provides data collected over a 13-year period on communicative disorders among college freshmen. The students were examined for existing speech disorders and questioned about recovery from previous disorders, with and without treatment. At examination, 2.42% exhibited articulation, voice, or fluency disorders; whereas an additional 2.34%, no longer exhibiting problems, reported recovery from previous disorders. Articulation therapy was reportedly effective in recovery (46%), whereas therapy for fluency disorders was less effective (24%) than spontaneous recovery (35%). Although voice disorders were evident at examination, self-perception of previous voice problems was almost nonexistent. The data, compared with those from other reports, confirm that direct examination produces prevalence rates higher than those found via informant interview methods.

This paper aims to explain the dilemma that occurs in marital relationships. The issue of performing the external or internal maintenance obligation on the husband who has HIV / AIDS causes the wife to suffer. Thus, a qualitative study has been done to identify the dilemma that occurs in the relationship between husband and wife. Archival research methods such as the provisions of Islamic Family Law (UUKI), fiqh munakahat and case studies have been used. Interview methods were also performed to answer the objectives of the study. A total of 8 respondents, namely the wives of AIDS sufferers, were interviewed to obtain study data and the data was finally analyzed manually (QDA). The results show that there is discrimination against people living with HIV / AIDS (OHDHA) (wife) in the form of external and internal maintenance (husband and wife relationship). Even sadder, all respondents have been infected with HIV / AIDS as a result of intimate relationships with their husbands. The study finally concludes that OHDHA (wife) needs guidance and understanding of how to deal with the dilemma of performing duties as a wife and avoiding darar treatment from her partner (husband). Keywords: UUKI, Obligation, Wife, nafkah, HIV/AIDS.

Introduction. The paper considers the Mari clothing for funeral and memorial rituals, its specific features, and functions. The purpose of the research is to define a role and application that clothes have in ceremonies. Materials and Methods. As the research materials for the article, the author used ethnographic sources published in the XIX and early XX centuries, field journals by Tatyana Kryukova belonged to the Archive of the Russian Museum of Ethnography, as well as the author’s personal field research materials, collected during personal expeditionary activities in the Mari El Republic. The structural-functional and comparatively historical methods were the major methods for the research. The research materials were collected by means of participant observation and semi-structural interview methods. Results and Discussion. The Mari clothing during the funeral and memorial ceremonies marked two core functions, being represented by a costume of the deceased person and as an independent ritual object. Dressing the deceased person entailed a number of taboos whereas some clothes of the deceased were used to fill up the coffin. During the memorial rituals, the clothing of the deceased became a part of the «substitution» ritual when the role of the deceased was taken on by living people who were present at the ceremony. Apart from that, the clothing served as a present for the participants of the ceremony. Conclusion. A change of clothes in the lifecycle rituals marked a transfer of the clothes’ owner from one condition to another. A deceased person was a key figure during the funeral rite, while a change of his clothes facilitated their separation from the living ones. The costume itself was characterized by the inversion of the details and revealed its reference to wedding items. In the context of the memorial ceremonies, the clothing functioned as means of communication between a deceased and living ones, whereas its prolonged use accepted as a gift allowed maintaining the communication.
