Asianisms, that is, discourses and ideologies claiming that Asia can be defined and understood as a homogenous space with shared and clearly defined characteristics, have become the subject of increased scholarly attention over the last two decades. The focal points of interest, however, are generally East Asian varieties of regionalism. That “the cult of Asianism” has played an important role on the Indian subcontinent, too—as is evident from the quote above—is less understood. Aside from two descriptive monographs dating back to the 1970s, there has been relatively little scholarly engagement with this phenomenon. In this article, we would like to offer an overview of several distinct concepts of Asia and pan-Asian designs, which featured prominently in both political and civil society debates in India during the struggle for Independence. Considering the abundance of initiatives for Asian unification, and, in a more abstract sense, discourses on Asian identity, what follows here is necessarily a selection of discourses, three of which will be subjected to critical analysis, with the following questions in mind:•What were the concrete motives of regional—in this case Indian—actors to appropriate the concept of Asianism? Is the popularity of supranational frames of reference solely to be explained as an affirmation of a distinctive identity vis-à-vis the imagined powerful West, or are there other motives to be found?•What were the results of these processes of appropriation, and how were these manifested politically and culturally?•What tensions resulted from the simultaneous existence of various nationalisms in Asia on the one hand and macro-nationalistic pan-Asianism on the other?

INTRODUCTION: The idea of the article arose during a course in which students were organized in groups to discuss a bioethics subject and the subject chosen was "saviour siblings". “Saviour sibling” is a child conceived in the hope of being genetically compatible with an older brother who has some pathology whose treatment consists of the donation of tissues. OBJECTIVE: To debate the conception of saviour siblings and the delicacy and complexity of the theme from a bioethical perspective. METHODOLOGY: Literature review carried out in August 2019, in the PubMed database, using the keyword “saviour siblings”. The material obtained was used for discussion and elaboration of a clinical case. RESULTS: 40 articles were found, nine of which were excluded from the abstract for diverging from the topic. The clinical case was developed collectively and the authors delegated with putting themselves in the place of those involved in this decision and narrating the possible thoughts and feelings of each one of them. Then, bibliographic references were used to discuss the constructed clinical case, from the bioethical perspective. CONCLUSION: Saviour siblings related bioethical issues are delicate and complex. On the one hand, there's a benefit of saving a sick child and bringing relief to the parents. But, on the other hand, this technique can bear on eugenic practices such as the selection of individuals based on their genetics. The violation of the saviour sibling's autonomy needs to be the focus of future ethical discussions in order to protect his rights. Teaching bioethics is essential for the training of health professionals.

The article is an attempt to create a new category in the study of the school, which is school political culture. Theoretical meta-analysis was used. In the first part, the author explains why she asks about school political culture. Based on the assumption that the school is an organisation, it justifies applying the tools of political culture to its study. The school as an organisation is a separate system of activity, with clearly defined goals, a specific division of labour among members of the school community and connectivity between elements with a certain degree of formalisation and hierarchy of power. A comparison of elements of the school’s organisation with the basic elements of the political system is presented. The second part introduces the criteria that the theory of political culture should meet to become a theory that can be applied in school space. A meta-analysis of selected concepts of political culture: Gabriel Almond, Vilfredo Pareto and Zbigniew Blok (based on the developed criteria) allowed the selection of a leading theory. The results of meta-analysis are the subject of the third part of the article. The initial adaptation of the selected theory leading to the school specificity is a contribution to further scientific work on the development of a research tool allowing the classification of school political culture: of individual students, as well as the one dominating in the group.

ENTITIES INVOLVED IN THE ORGANISATION OF COMPETITIONS FOR MANAGERIAL POSTS: LEGAL ISSUES Summary The article discusses the legal issues associated with the competition method of selecting management staff. Under the current legal provisions in Poland many legal acts pertain to this issue, giving an inhomogeneous set of regulations for the principles of conducting such procedures in particular domains of public, social and economic affairs. The subject of the first part of this paper is the analysis of the concept of competitions for managerial posts and the classification of the procedure for the competitive selection of management staff based on various criteria. The author also points out the main advantages and disadvantages of competitions held for managerial posts. The second part of the paper describes the entities directly involved in the organisation of competitions for management staff, and indispensable for the running of such competitions. In my opinion the analysis of the legal acts which regulate this issue allows for the distinction of two essential categories of entities directly involved in the process of competitive management appointments. On the one hand this means those organisers who are responsible for initiating the whole procedure and who make the final decision on the appointment. On the other hand there is the competition commission, which has a significant influence on the effectiveness of the competitive selection of management staff.

The name of Rudolph Bultmann has recently become specially associated with the proposal to demythologise the New Testament and reinterpret it in terms of a Christian existentialism. The discussion of this proposal will be further stimulated by the recent publication in English of Kerygma and Myth, which contains Bultmann's original essay on the subject and a selection of the contributions made by German scholars in the ensuing controversy. It appears to the present writer that insufficient attention has been given in discussion to the connexion between Bultmann's opinions on the historical Jesus and the proposal now so prominently before us. It may be that in Bultmann's teaching there is an underlying interplay between his criticism of the history and his hermeneutic proposal; such that on the one hand his estimate of the historical Jesus is influenced if not controlled by his general philosophical and theological assumptions, while on the other hand his radical conclusions regarding the history have tended to lead him to his extreme position as an interpreter.

Innovation has become an irreplaceable marvel in contemporary time which has its effect on all social statuses and training isn’t an exemption to this. The educated understudies of today have effortlessly received the electronic course books as a substitution of printed reading material attributable to its usability, cost viability, and availability. Fluctuated sees on the understudies’ inclination of the predefined arrangement of reading material have laid the stage for more formal and centered exploration interests these days universally. Thusly, an exploration to separate the focal points and impediments of both the organizations and the reasons that are essential to decide on the one over the other at a provincial level is a lot of the need of great importance. The investigation planned to discover the premium and inclination that won in the brains of students of different collages in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu regarding the embracing of electronic course readings over the printed course books as this sort of study has been completed a lot of restricted in this locale. The examination embraced a quantitative exploration plan and the poll as an examination instrument to gather the information. The outcome attests that a greater part of the understudies knows about both the configurations of reading material and are more open to utilizing electronic course books and have communicated their readiness to move from printed course readings to electronic course readings. By the by, the discoveries clarify that the understudies choose electronic course readings relying on the nature and difficulty of the subject.

This paper presents the application of digital terrain model in developing a relief model. The digital terrain model served as the basis for the relief model. The research has taken into account the subject of combining different data in order to develop a numerical model of the land − surveying, bathymetry, maps. Another issue addressed was the one of vertical scale or exceeding it in the developed model. Its appropriate selection allows the correct representation of the terrain geomorphology. The paper presents research in carrying out relief model of Szczesliwicki Park in Warsaw. The results show the link between the vertical scale or exceeding it and the accuracy (correctness) of relief model in large-scale descriptions. In addition, a verification of models was made with the use of a scanner that uses structural light.

An investigation of the frequency dependence of the radio emission of pulsars promises to contribute considerably to the understanding of such outstanding questions as: 1.Is the emission mechanism narrowband or broadband?2.What is the coherence time of the radiation?3.Does a radius-to-frequency mapping exist?4.Is pulsed radiation absorbed in the magnetosphere? The 100-m telescope in Effelsberg is satisfactorily sensitive in the GHz frequency range so that we could observe averaged pulses up to 22.7 GHz (Bartel et al., 1977; Bartel et al., 1978) and single pulses at 8.8 GHz (Bartel et al., 1980a), which are the highest radio frequencies respectively at which pulsars have been detected. Therefore quite naturally the analysis of the frequency dependent pulsar emission became one of the focal points of interest in pulsar research at the MPIfR.

The semi-input-output method has been proposed by the author as a substi¬tute for what was formerly called the estimation of the indirect effects of invest¬ment projects. Essentially it rests on assumption I that a country must aim at an "ideal development process", meaning a growth process which at no time shows unutilized production capacity. Furthermore, the method rests on assumption II that a distinction can be made between national or domestic activities (industries in the widest sense or sectors) on the one hand and international activities on the other hand. By definition the products of the former cannot, for technological or cultural reasons, be imported or exported. Examples have been given elsewhere [1]. Together with assumption I it follows from II that the productive capacity in the national sectors equals the demand for their products. With a given develop¬ment of national income the growth of the national sectors is practically deter¬mined. The choice of new sectors to be developed must mainly be made among the international sectors, where those showing the highest comparative advantages must be chosen, if with given sacrifices of scarce factors a maximum of result is wanted. The criterion for selection of sectors will depend on the aims of policy as well as on the relative scarcity of factors. Its precise content is independent of the subject to be discussed here. For simplicity's sake we will assume that the criterion is to prefer sectors with the lowest capital-output ratio. This choice only effects the later portions of this article. The emphasis here is on something else, namely that it is not possible, if we accept assumption I, to add to the equip¬ment of the nation a factory or set of factories in one international sector only, but that simultaneously with such an "international" investment a number of complementary investments in domestic sectors are necessary, in order to keep all capacities fully utilized. We will call the necessary combination of investments a bunch; it always consists of an investment in one international sector combined with a number of investments in all national sectors.
