Abstract Comprehensive accounts of resource-rational attempts to maximise utility shouldn't ignore the demands of constructing utility representations. This can be onerous when, as in humans, there are many rewarding modalities. Another thing best not ignored is the processing demands of making functional activity out of the many degrees of freedom of a body. The target article is almost silent on both.

The many usages of the term ‘secularism’ have generated an ambiguity in the word; as a political guise, it may be used to engender anti-religious fervor. Particularly in regards to veiling among female Muslim adherents, the attainment of a secular state and touting of the necessity of dismantling religious symbols have functioned as linguistic shields. By calling a “burka ban” necessary or even egalitarian secularization, legislators employ ‘secularization’ as jargon for political ends, enacting a stance of supremacy under the semblance of progress. Secularization has come to function as a political tool - in the name of it, governments may prescribe which cultural symbols are normative and which are of ‘other’ cultures or religious origins. As such, the identification of some religious symbols as foreign and others as normative is a usage of secularization for normalization of dominant religious expression. In this, there is an implicit neocolonialism; by imposing standards of cultural normalcy which are definitively nonMuslim, such policies attempt to divorce Muslims from Islam.  Further, I intend to investigate the gendered aspect of secularization politics. By critiquing clothing and body policing of women, I will demonstrate how secularization projects use the female body and dress as a site for display. By rendering the female physically emblematic of the honor and virtue of an ‘other’ culture, those enacting secularization norms target women’s bodies to act as visual exhibitions of the dominant culture’s hegemony. Here, we see gendered secularization at work - female bodies become controlled by the antireligious zeal of the state, while the state carries out this control on the predicate that it is the religious group enacting unjust control. As such, the policing of female Muslim bodies is symbolic of the policing of Islam as a whole; it acts as an illustration of an imposed, gendered secularization project.

Reaching movements performed from a crouched body posture require a shift of body weight from both arms to one arm. This situation has remained unexamined despite the analogous load requirements during step initiation and the many studies of reaching from a seated or standing posture. To determine whether the body weight shift involves anticipatory or exclusively reactive control we obtained force plate records, hand kinematics, and arm muscle activity from 11 healthy right-handed participants. They performed reaching movements with their left and right arm in two speed contexts - 'comfortable' and 'as fast as possible' - and two postural contexts - a less stable knees-together posture and more stable knees-apart posture. Weight-shifts involved anticipatory postural actions (APA) by the reaching and stance arms that were opposing in the vertical axis and aligned in the side-to-side axis similar to APAs by the legs for step initiation. Weight-shift APAs were correlated in time and magnitude, present in both speed contexts, more vigorous with the knees placed together, and similar when reaching with the dominant or non-dominant arm. The initial weight-shift was preceded by bursts of muscle activity in the shoulder and elbow extensors (posterior deltoid and triceps lateral) of the reach arm and shoulder flexor (pectoralis major) of the stance arm which indicates their causal role; leg muscles may have indirectly contributed but were not recorded. The strong functional similarity of weight-shift APAs during crouched reaching to human stepping and cats reaching suggests that they are a core feature of posture-movement coordination.

We address the problem of computing the hydrodynamic forces and torques among $N$ solid spherical particles moving with given rotational and translational velocities in Stokes flow. We consider the original fluid–particle model without introducing new hypotheses or models. Our method includes the singular lubrication interactions which may occur when some particles come close to one another. The main new feature is that short-range interactions are propagated to the whole flow, including accurately the many-body lubrication interactions. The method builds on a pre-existing fluid solver and is flexible with respect to the choice of this solver. The error is the error generated by the fluid solver when computing non-singular flows (i.e. with negligible short-range interactions). Therefore, only a small number of degrees of freedom are required and we obtain very accurate simulations within a reasonable computational cost. Our method is closely related to a method proposed by Sangani & Mo (Phys. Fluids, vol. 6, 1994, pp. 1653–1662) but, in contrast with the latter, it does not require parameter tuning. We compare our method with the Stokesian dynamics of Durlofsky et al. (J. Fluid Mech., vol. 180, 1987, pp. 21–49) and show the higher accuracy of the former (both by analysis and by numerical experiments).

If one has been involved in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) since its inception, as we have, one will have had several opportunities to reflect on the issue of licensing to regulate the practice of industrial and organizational psychology (IOP). Some find value in licensure, but the vast majority of industrial and organizational (I-O) psychologists do not. As the target article written by the Licensure of Consulting and Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychologists (LCIOP) Joint Task Force (2017) documents, there have been several policy statements made by SIOP leadership over the years. The essence of SIOP's policy is quite clear and consistent. Although SIOP does not support and will not promote the licensure of I-O psychologists, it does support a pathway to licensure for those who desire it, and is supportive of efforts to reduce the many barriers to licensure for those who desire it. It is our understanding that SIOP's participation in the LCIOP Joint Task Force was predicated on this long-standing policy.

This paper is addressed to the problem of structural behavior in an offshore environment, and the application of a more rigorous analysis for time-dependent forces than is currently used. Design of pile supported structures subjected to wave forces has, in the past, been treated in two parts; (1) a static analysis based on the loading of a single wave, and (2) a dynamic analysis which sought to determine the resonant frequency by assuming that the structure could be approximated as a single-degree-of-freedom system. (Ref. 4 and 6) The behavior of these structures would be better understood if the dynamic nature of the loading and the many degrees of freedom of the system were included. A structure which is built in the open ocean is subjected to periodic forces due to wind, waves, floating objects, and due occasionally to machinery mounted on the structure. To resist motion, the structure relies on the stiffness of the elements from which it is built and the restraints of the ocean bottom into which the supporting legs are driven.

In fulfillment of these needs sometimes human forget to maintain their health, good attitude so that the position in work is not ergonomic which can lead to problems when carrying out activities. Lower back pain is a clinical symptom that is characterized by pain or a discomfort feeling in lower back area. In the United States, the incidence of lower back pain region in the past one year is 15% -20%. This study aims to see whether there were differences in giving of Mc Kenzie and Core Stability Exercise toward Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain. This study is quasi experiment with a sample of patients with lower back pain, with purposive sampling technique. The results obtained are p-value ? <(0,000 <0,05), it means that there is a difference in giving of Mc Kenzie Exercise toward the increase of Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain, that uses body movements that is directed to extension, to provide strengthening and reflecting on the extensor and flexor muscles of the lumbar joint, while the Core Stability Exercise has the ability to regulate the position and movement in the central region of the body, and it can be concluded that there is differences in Giving of Mc Kenzie Exercise toward the increase of Functional Activity of Patients with Lower Back Pain. It is recommended for patients who experience lower back pain so that keep always repeat the exercises that suggested by physiotherapist, for further research so that choose more samples.

Fundamental research in the field of burn wound development process highlights new pathogenetic mechanisms that underlie the improvement of medical practice, the main purpose of which is to create optimal conditions for early regeneration of the affected skin, as well as to eliminate the development of local and general complications. Irrational general and local treatment of wounds contribute to the slowing down of regenerative processes, thereby worsening the prognosis and consequences of thermal injury. It was found out that in patients of both study groups in the first period of the study the characteristics of the cellular composition of the wound impressions of the wound bottom of the area of thermal damage correspond to the degenerative type. In patients of the main group in the second term of the study in the area of thermal damage cells with high levels of functional and metabolic activity begin to appear, which increase antimicrobial resistance and reduce the risk of generalization of the infectious process which is the main source of burns. In patients of the main group, an increase in the activity of neutrophilic granulocytes in the induced test was found in the second term of the study, which, in our opinion, indicates the involvement of neutrophilic granulocytes with high functional and metabolic activity. Under conditions of significant activation of resident monocytes in response to injury in patients of the main group in the second and third term, the area of thermal damage migrates functionally effective monocytes. In patients of the main group the preservation of the activity of myeloperoxidase - the main enzyme of the oxygen-dependent phase of phagocytosis at the minimum subcompensated level, which leads to the preservation of the oxygen-dependent metabolic reaction of neutrophilic granulocytes in the subsequent study, Increases in the content of PAS-positive substances in neutrophilic granulocytes indicate the preservation of the functional reserve for activation and completion of the oxygen-independent phase of phagocytosis. The use of the developed treatment promotes the involvement of functionally active phagocytic cells in the burn wound, reduces the toxic load on monocytes and neutrophils, which helps to maintain their functional activity at the subcompensated level. These trends in patients of the main group reduce the risk of both local and general infectious complications of burn disease. It was found that the level of spontaneous functional activity in the HCT test is associated with the activity of resident monocytes. They form the primary barrier that protects the body from infection or harmful macromolecular complexes. Monocytes - "inflammatory", which constantly come from the free pool and their functional activity against microbial antigens is much higher than resident monocytes. An indicator of the activity of monocytes - "inflammatory" is an indicator of functional activity in the induced HCT test. The results of the study indicate that under conditions of significant activation of resident monocytes in response to injury in patients of the main group in the second and third terms of the area of thermal damage migrate functionally effective monocytes.

SUMMARY Comparative musculoskeletal modeling represents a tool to understand better how motor system parameters are fine-tuned for specific behaviors. Frog jumping is a behavior in which the physical properties of the body and musculotendon actuators may have evolved specifically to extend the limits of performance. Little is known about how the joints of the frog contribute to and limit jumping performance. To address these issues, we developed a skeletal model of the frog Rana pipiens that contained realistic bones, joints and body-segment properties. We performed forward dynamic simulations of jumping to determine the minimal number of joint degrees of freedom required to produce maximal-distance jumps and to produce jumps of varied take-off angles. The forward dynamics of the models was driven with joint torque patterns determined from inverse dynamic analysis of jumping in experimental frogs. When the joints were constrained to rotate in the extension—flexion plane, the simulations produced short jumps with a fixed angle of take-off. We found that, to produce maximal-distance jumping,the skeletal system of the frog must minimally include a gimbal joint at the hip (three rotational degrees of freedom), a universal Hooke's joint at the knee (two rotational degrees of freedom) and pin joints at the ankle,tarsometatarsal, metatarsophalangeal and iliosacral joints (one rotational degree of freedom). One of the knee degrees of freedom represented a unique kinematic mechanism (internal rotation about the long axis of the tibiofibula)and played a crucial role in bringing the feet under the body so that maximal jump distances could be attained. Finally, the out-of-plane degrees of freedom were found to be essential to enable the frog to alter the angle of take-off and thereby permit flexible neuromotor control. The results of this study form a foundation upon which additional model subsystems (e.g. musculotendon and neural) can be added to test the integrative action of the neuromusculoskeletal system during frog jumping.

Satoimo rich in Hyaluronic Acid ( HA ) , a substance produced naturally in the body and produce natural collagen . Taro flour relatively smooth and easy to digest useful for the preparation of pastries , cakes , breads and noodles . Noodle is one of the many products that are favored by all the community . Has conducted research aimed to analyze the characteristics of the physical, chemical and organoleptic noodles mosaf ( Colocasia esculenta ) . The treatment is done in this study is a comparison of wheat flour : flour mosaf with variations 450 g : 50 g ; 400 g : 100 g ; 350 g : 150 g ; 300 g : 200 g ; and 250 g : 250 g . The analysis in this study includes the analysis of the fiber content , elasticity and organoleptic ( color, taste, texture dam ) mosaf wet noodle . The results showed that the higher concentration mosaf flour is added , then the noodles fiber content becomes higher but getting lower elasticity , whereas the level of consumer preferences of the parameters of color, flavor and texture of getting down , the tolerance level of the composition of wheat flour : 400 g flour mosaf : 100 g .Keywords : noodles , satoimo , mosaf

With rapid expansion of nanotechnology, microminiaturization has become imperative in the field of micro/nano fabrication. A nanomanipulation system with high degrees of freedom that can perform nanomachining, nanofabrication and mechanical/electrical characterization of nanoscale objects inside a scanning electron microscope (SEM) is presented. The manipulation system consists of several individual operating units each having three linear stages and one rotational stage. The body of the manipulator is designed using the idea of superposition. Each operating unit can move in the permissible range of SEM’s vacuum chamber and can increase or decrease the number of units according to the requirement. Experiments were executed to investigate the in-situ electrical resistance of nano materials.
