IntroductionThe case-mix method involves combining cases with similar complexities and medical services. The process of treating one episode of the disease and receiving treatment is the research unit, thus achieving different medical units. The feasibility of the calculation method is verified by calculating the public hospital consumption ratio, medical income, health materials expenditure indicators, and the differences between the various types of surgical combinations. A decision-making basis can then be provided for the creation of government indicator standards.MethodsMedical records and data on the expenditure of medical consumables for the first and fourth quarters of 2017 were collected from seven third-class provincial hospitals. The medical consumption ratio for different diseases and surgical methods was calculated for the case-mix groups using a weighting method. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and the independent samples t-test.ResultsThere were significant differences in the proportions of combined use for different types of diseases. The same combination also had significant differences between different hospitals. In the fourth quarter of 2017, the operating group's consumption ratio was significantly lower than in the first quarter (p = 0.000).ConclusionsIt is reasonable to calculate the proportion of consumption by combined weighted analysis, which is also fairer for hospitals with better technical levels. This calculation method can be used by governments to manage the use and cost of medical consumables in hospitals.

Selenium in industrial wastewater at sub-ppm level was determined by PIXE spectrometry at the Tokyo Institute of Technology Van de Graaff Laboratory using a 2.5 MeV proton beam. A chemical concentration method was applied for elemental analysis. Other elements ( Mn , Fe , Ni , Cu , Zn , Pb , Hg , Cd , As ) were also found simultaneously. Anion chromatography revealed that selenium forms an oxyanion SeO 32- in wastewater studied. Pb , As and Se of these chemical species are required to lower below the discharge standard to the public water, 0.1ppm, while that of Hg is 0.005ppm. The combined use of these two analysis tools will help for rapid monitoring of the quality in the public water environment.

SUMMARYA trial of an experimental live influenza B vaccine has been described. The virus it contained was active and produced infections, antibody rises and clinical reactions.Second and third vaccinations had much less effect than the first. Resistance to revaccination was only partially reflected in the serological response. It seems that another factor, probably local antibody, exerts a considerable influence on resistance to infection with influenza viruses. We are greatly indebted to Dr P. G. Higgins of the Public Health Laboratory, Cirencester, who went to much trouble to provide us with specimens from patients with influenza; to Dr H. G. Pereira of the National Institute for Medical Research for the antigenic analysis of the vaccine virus; to Messrs Sankey Ltd., Bilston, Wolverhampton, for their unfailing courtesy and forbearance throughout the trial; to the volunteers for their enthusiastic co-operation in the face of some discom forts; and to Messrs Pfizer Ltd., Sandwich, for originally providing facilities for the preparation of the vaccine. In particular we wish to record our gratitude for the invaluable technical help of Miss Pamela Ball of the Common Cold Research Unit, Mrs Maria Gregory of the Bacteriology Department of Liverpool University, Mrs L. Johnson of the Virus Laboratory of New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, and Mr A. Westoby, an assistant in the practice of Dr Tyler.

The interest in Sharia-based financial industry products has increased rapidly, as evidenced by a large number of conventional Bank customers migrating to Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS). With this phenomenon, it is necessary to measure BUS financial performance in Indonesia by using the analysis of the Shariah Maqashid Index (SMI) concept as control and reference for the public to choose and utilize Islamic financial products in Indonesia with an empirical study approach. The object of this study is Islamic banks in Indonesia using purposive sampling techniques with the condition that only the category of Islamic Commercial Banks. The results of this study are indicators of all mashed shariah index variables with measurements using the SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) method as decision support. Eight BUS in Indonesia have different calculation results; each Islamic bank has advantages in SMI elements. That Bank Mualamah Syariah has the highest IK1 (Performance Indicator) for two years in a row. Bank Panin Syariah has the highest IK2 in 5 consecutive years. BCAS and Bank Syariah Bukopin have the highest IK3. In general, all BUS that has implemented maqashid syariah with the category 'good' because they have an average value of 3.00.

AbstractThis research proposes to apply a rate calculation method of the environmental pollution, which will be used in industries that discharge their waste into the effluents of the city. This method will bring better incomes for both: Municipality and citizens in general. As direct effects of applying this method, the companies will have to have their raw material components checked, their production processes improved and their pollution levels decreased before their discharge into the public sewer system.

Background: Public buses are a major transportation mode in large cities in the developing country Indonesia. Nevertheless, most societies still use passenger cars. Therefore, the road authority has developed an important policy to improve public bus services soon. One of the public bus services is to change the bus operational system, including the manual ticketing system to an electronic ticket (e-ticket) system. In order to make the policy succeed, the road authority should ask for passengers’ opinions. Objective: The purposes of this study are to ensure that the bus e-ticket is needed to support the policy and then to determine important priority factors of bus e-ticket implementation. Methods: The data were collected using a direct survey with a questionnaire in large cities, Surabaya and Denpasar in Indonesia. A total of 565 bus passengers participated in this survey. An analysis was conducted through cross tabulation between the respondents’ demographic data and their perceived level of need and priority of implementation with regard to various factors of the e-ticket system. The Simple Additive Weighting method was used to determine the important priority factors. Results: Results indicated that a bus e-ticket needed for the cross tabulation average value is more than 3.60 out of 5.00 for all factors. Furthermore, the three highest values of factors based on the Simple Additive Weighting method are ease of access, availability of the bus routes information, and affordability of the e-ticket price. Conclusion: Since respondents indicate that the e-ticket is needed and is a priority, then the policy is beneficial not only to improve bus services in Indonesia but also in other developing countries with similar traffic and geometric conditions.
