The impact of social media has grown significantly during the past decade in several fields of our society. This article advocates the research subfield of social media memory studies based on empirical data from a case study on the role of social media in a local conflict about re-naming a public square in an average German town. The square had been named after Paul von Hindenburg, who played a crucial role in the implementation of Adolf Hitler as German Reichskanzler and was therefore regarded as an inadequate public patron. Conservatives fought against the new name, also on Facebook. Our findings indicate that the platform played a decisive role as counter-public sphere against hegemonic mainstream media and politics in fostering a new historical consciousness. The case might be seen as a precedent of right-wing movements and their use of social media in the Brexit campaign or the US elections.

In recent years and mostly during the last two decades, the decisive role of the environment in the business administration field and business life in general has emerged. In the modern, fast changing, and highly competitive business environment, and even more so in the context of the recent economic crisis, businesses constantly struggle to survive, trying to resolve problems and improve their performance and competitive advantage. Therefore, they must save and invest substantial sums of money to build strong infrastructure, to change procedures, and to produce environmentally friendly products. In view of the above, the current study attempted to examine the impact of environmental strategy on the growth of medium and large enterprises in all sectors in Greece, in a period of economic crisis. The study, carried out in February and March 2018, confirmed the positive correlation and the critical role of environmental strategy in the financial performance of Greek enterprises during this period of economic recession. Both eco-efficient practices and innovative practices lead to the creation of competitive advantage and, thus, to the improvement of the financial performance of a firm.

Remarkable strides have been made in science ever since the scientific revolution in the 17th century, and the scientific community continues to prosper today. In its professional activities and social life, this community has created a scientific culture that is increasingly prosperous and is having a significant impact on the development of human culture. The scientific culture has distinctive features that are different from those of the literary culture. For example, it emphasizes the decisive role of objective examination in the course of enquiry to reduce the impact of the subjectivity of researchers on the results. It also stresses the objectivity of knowledge and testing that objectivity through reproducibility. It favours experimental and mathematical approaches while underestimating the roles of imaginal and intuitive thinking, and advocates the values of utilitarianism. This paper concludes that the distinctive features of the scientific culture should be examined in the course of its current development to eliminate the negative impact of utilitarianism.

The article considers the problem of discussion as a process and a way of academic exchange and communication. The relevance of the research is substantiated by the fact that the chosen topic has mostly not been considered in the field of scientific research. The importance of researching informal sources of information for a better understanding and more objective analysis of events is substantiated as well. For the first time, numerous facts gathered by the author during personal communication with the academics are presented. The subject and the conclusions of the study will contribute for a better understanding of the historical role of both public and nonpublic discussion in the artistic process, in particular in its pedagogical component.Contemporary art education, as well as public opinion in general, focuses on the individuality of the artist, so in the artistic environment can not but arise new discussions and even conflicts. Discussions and controversy among teachers and students in the analyzed period were less ideological in nature, in contrast to the preWWII period in the educational institution. In the postwar period, some artiststeachers were oppressed and persecuted because of their own conceptual principles in teaching practice. Such teachers were deprived of the opportunity to spread their artistic ideas among students. Later, under the influence of the changing political situation in the country, they were invited to teach at universities again and they formed the forefront of the revival and formation of a new art school. The influence of mass media on the cultural process both in the conditions of a totalitarian society and in the conditions of the modern reforms is analyzed in the article. The current state of the coverage of cultural events in the media and the impact of this process on the artistic environment is considered. The article shows that the decisive role in the course of the discussion is played by the personality, and not by the ideological or pedagogical value of the subject of discussion. The key role of the individual in the discussion process in the absence of a systemic tool for making decisions independent of the dominant ideology is also emphasized. The author concludes that even in the Soviet postwar period there was still opposition in art education.

The aim of this article is to describe how masculinities among a group of young Moroccan men in Europe are produced by the hegemonic power of heteronormativity. This article is based on the findings of research involving a group of thirty-five Muslim migrant men in Italy and France. The aim of the research was to analyze the impact of heterosexual scenarios in shaping the experiences of these young men during their transition to adulthood abroad. First, this article will show how, during youth, different profiles of premarital masculinity are constructed in relation to the various heterosexual scripts described by these men. Our analysis illustrates how intercultural and intracultural dimensions define masculinities in social interactions by reproducing the hegemony of the heteronormative scenario. Then, we will show that the interviewees also give particular importance to the moment of marriage when they want to display an “adult masculinity” and to recover their “moral integrity” after premarital, illicit, and sexual experiences. By focusing on family relations and intra- and interethnic dynamics in the migrant milieu, we will reveal how these different dimensions play a decisive role in producing sexual scripts and consequently in gender identification. This will lead us to discuss the role of heteronormative hegemonic models of masculinity references in the accounts of the interviewees, showing how sexuality is a field where the cultural belongings of these young men are defined and redefined during their transition to adulthood in a foreign country.

The object of the study is to identify the texts of religious sermons, the subject of the study are the linguistic factors of creating positive emotionality as an influential factor in religious preaching. The purpose of intelligence was to identify verbal markers of positivity as a factor in the suggestiveness of religious sermon texts. During the research, a number of tasks were solved, namely: highlighting the keywords as markers of positivity in the texts of recorded religious sermons; keywords are classified by lexico-semantic groups; their influence specificity is established. The article also highlights the main approaches to understanding the concept of "emotions", specifies the essence of positive emotions and establishes the role of positivity as a basic factor in the suggestiveness of religious discourse, in particular in the segment of the preaching genre. The verbal means of embodying positive emotions are analyzed, the priority of their semantic explication in creating the ecological suggestiveness of preaching is proved. It is established that the semantics of a word, in particular its connotative component, plays a decisive role in the formation of a positive perception of sermons. The reconstruction of the semantics and level of suggestion of the keywords carried out in the course of the study gives the following conclusions: 1) the most frequent are precedent tokens (46%). The associative bonding and the general familiarity of these words facilitates the cognitive processes of information perception, which optimizes the impact and enables the creation of a positive emotional background in the sermon texts; 2) less actively functioning abstract nouns denoting inherent religions and moral and ethical categories (33%). The connotative semantics of the keywords highlighted in this group correlate with positive emotions, the activation of which contributes to improving the memorization of information, enhances the imaginative thinking of the recipient, and therefore reinforces the influence; 3) the words that belong to the lexico-semantic group of adjectives for the designation of moral and ethical characteristics and the tokens for the designation of action appeared the least frequency. They are 11% and 10% respectively. Keywords: emotions, suggestion, positivism, religious discourse, sermon, key words, lexical-semantic group, semantic.

Two studies examined the impact of macrolevel symbolic threat on intergroup attitudes. In Study 1 (N = 71), participants exposed to a macrosymbolic threat (vs. nonsymbolic threat and neutral topic) reported less support toward social policies concerning gay men, an outgroup whose stereotypes implies a threat to values, but not toward welfare recipients, a social group whose stereotypes do not imply a threat to values. Study 2 (N = 78) showed that, whereas macrolevel symbolic threat led to less favorable attitudes toward gay men, macroeconomic threat led to less favorable attitudes toward Asians, an outgroup whose stereotypes imply an economic threat. These findings are discussed in terms of their implications for understanding the role of a general climate of threat in shaping intergroup attitudes.
