Objective – This article aims to enlighten the theory of capital and revenue nature receipt and expenditure in accounting and taxation.Methodology/design/approach – Methodologically, this article adopts the descriptive research methods and qualitative approach based on the primary, secondary, and tertiary sources of information from Acts/laws, journals, reports, books, dictionary and encyclopaedia.Finding and conclusion – The study found that the income tax Act of Nepal does not define the terms capital and revenue receipt and expenditure clearly, but clarifies provisions of non-business taxation assets of the individual persons and net gains from business assets or liabilities for the entity and gains from depreciable assets for both persons. Thus, we argue that it should define to avoid vagueness in the law. A simple tax law increases both tax revenue and evasion while vague decreases both.Originality/value – This paper explicitly presents the state of capital and revenue receipt and expenditure in theory and practice. Thus, this paper furnishes facts about the stated subject and adds a new knowledge to the existing literature.NCC JournalVol. 3, No. 1, 2018, Page: 71-81

As an activity, research through design gives rise to new knowledge from both creative processes and, if there are any, resultant artifacts. Arguably, all creative practitioners are researchers of one kind or another, whether through materials, aesthetics, technologies, ethnographies, or cultural theory. It also can be argued that research methods in creative practice have not so much been invented or applied to validate academic integrity, but instead they have unfolded and emerged as enquiry has deepened. In this way, the design researcher has the means to re-position their projects to frame premeditated research questions and objectives within their work, and in some cases, apply research questions after practice has taken place.

The article starts with a short discussion of different views on research-based teaching (RT). We characterize RT as teaching where students are involved as active participants in the process of producing new knowledge through the use of research methods. Our overall research question is: What possibilities does a pedagogical design based on involving students as contributors to the research process offer for realizing the different reasons for RT? What problems can arise? The research question is investigated with a focus on learning theoretical and philosophical reasons for RT. In the discussion we argue that the pedagogical design supports the learning theoretical reasons for using RT, but is less useful for the philosophical reasons. Our results point to a number of problems and barriers to the realization of RT (as characterized in our project) and of the reasons for RT, amongst which are the following: The pedagogical design involves an unfamiliar form of work/study for the students; tensions may exist between the subject-related learning goals of study regulations and RT (as characterized in our project); and students’ instrumental, job-oriented goals may constitute a barrier to the realization of the philosophical reasons for RT.

This paper presents some results from a community-based project among local South Saami in the Norwegian and Swedish part of Saepmie. I was co-coordinating a two-year community-sponsored project in the community (Røyrvik) in which a local South Saami midwife documented stories from elder Saami about childbirth in earlier times, both from their own memories and from stories they knew. Her work became an article in a book, and the project helped us to understand much more about childbirth and general living conditions for Saami one to three generations ago in this area. As a PhD candidate, I have complemented her work with a theoretical framework (Indigenous Research Methods, colonial perspective), a historical analysis, and a contemporary context. Apart from presenting an example of stories she was given and how they can give us new knowledge. But I will focus on the meanings, processes, theories and practices of engaged Indigenous community research. I will describe our different methods and the benefit of working together and will point out how it will further research.

This article provides an analytical overview of relevant research methods in applied linguistics significant to teaching practitioners. In the canon of language teaching literature, there are numerous volumes presenting insightful analyses of research into  English as a foreign or second language (EFL/ESL) context. This article seeks to familiarize English language practitioners with comprehensive, practical, and straightforward coverage of applied linguistics research within the three research paradigms of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. The twenty-first centurychallenges societies and systems with new demands and approaches, with schools and teachers being agents of those changes, responsible for their presentation, implementation and often evaluation. Teachers must have a good understanding of  such changes and should be prepared to put new knowledge into practice. This can be achieved when a teacher becomes a researcher, engaging themselves in various activities that lead to a better understanding of the processes, to reflection upon teaching, and finally, to the implementation of new practices: becoming researchers intheir own right.

For some doctoral practitioner-researchers, the methods used within autoethnography and other self-inquiry-based research methods are appropriate for a practitioner dissertation as the phenomenon of inquiry is a central human, intrinsic, and experiential self-focused construct. The tenets of autoethnography and other self-as-subject research support the view that new knowledge can be discoverable from within the individual lived experience, and this chapter presents current trends and scholarship for the use of autoethnography and other self-inquiry research methods for practice-based doctoral research. The chapter also presents one case from a recent doctoral autoethnographer to illustrate the experience of a practice-based autoethnographic dissertation study within a practitioner doctoral program.

The COVID-19 virus was declared by WHO as a pandemic towards the beginning of 2020. As a result, Indonesia also implemented physical distancing nationally. This condition was responded to quite diverse by the community, one of which was in Tanggulwelahan Village, Tulungagung Regency. Myth is actually an alternative that people use in addressing these conditions. Therefore, researchers apply qualitative research methods (phenomenology) to explain the social construction of myths in the efforts of local communities to deal with COVID-19. Based on the results of interviews, observations, and analyzes using social construction theory the following results are obtained. "Buto" figure is a sacred symbol for the community because it is believed to have supernatural strength so that it can banish various outbreaks of disease. This understanding was formed through the process of externalization, objectification, and internalization that has been going on for generations. Meanwhile, medical information related to COVID-19 is new knowledge, so it is difficult to replace the old knowledge of society which is actually a myth.

The methodological principles of the constitutional legal research of the legal protection of the Constitution institute are highlighted, taking into account the current state of development the Constitutional Law of Ukraine. The author draws attention to such methodological principles, as deideologization, comprehensiveness, systematicity, dialecticism, historicism, determinism, hermeneutics, phenomenology, formal logic, objectivity, universality without denying the use of additional principles. The article focuses on the process of « methodology innovation» or « methodological innovations» . Firstly, the explanation of the essence of the methodology of scientific research of the protection of the Constitution as a phenomenon of legal reality and the institution of the system of constitutional law not only as a set of methods of its research, but also as a tool to increase new knowledge. Secondly, the prospect of an interdisciplinary approach in constitutional law studies, in particular, the acquisition of knowledge of the sociology of law, political science, psychology, etc. Thirdly, the post-positivist methodology for research the problems of legal protection of the Constitution. The post-positivist methodology allows to learn about constitutional phenomena and processes in terms of the priority of their analysis, to identify the origin and content over evaluative characteristics, and to allow for a multiplicity of alternative strategies for cognition of relevant phenomena and processes. The author emphasizes that all strategic and tactical innovations in the methodology of modern scientific researches are creative and not devoid of subjectivism. Those that are most relevant in the study of the legal protection of the Constitution institute are highlighted. The possibility of combining existing methodological principles with modernization research methods is substantiated by the achievement of the following results: strengthening the paradigm of integrity and integrativeness, taking into account the current globalization processes and multi-alternative forecasting.
