Based on the current state’s emphasis on environmental governance, combined with a series of pollution problems faced by Dianchi Lake, traditional environmental governance methods do not have real-time effective information analysis and processing capabilities. Therefore, the construction of an information visualization system that meets Dianchi wastewater treatment is currently the general trend of environmental construction.In this paper, the (B/S) model system architecture is used to establish a WebGIS-based Dianchi basin wastewater treatment visualization system, which greatly improves the system’s interaction and development costs.The system database adopts the spatial database model of GeoDatabase, which well solves the correlation between spatial data and attribute data, and can display and analyze corresponding data according to the data format and attributes.It provides an accurate and efficient visualization platform system for Dianchi pollution treatment. The commissioning of this system has greatly improved the governance efficiency of the relevant management departments of Dianchi Lake, and provided reliable data support for the dynamic adjustment of the department’s governance strategy.

The main aim of this study is to apply geographic information system (GIS) and data mining techniques to get the attribute data in a spatial and tabular form related to district wise availability of standing water bodies in their area and number of Bihar state. An analysis has been done on available spatial data and maps to get non-spatial/ tabular data, which are in a more easily understandable form. Data extracted district-wise related to area and number of standing water bodies according to their size of Bihar state. Study shows that the number and area of standing water bodies in Madhubani, East Champaran and Patna districts are 2185, 1753, 350 and 2355.42, 6752.36 and 8429.68 ham respectively. In this way, number and area of standing water bodies of other districts of Bihar are also extracted from geodatabases and digitized maps. This type of information is more useful than the spatial data because a common person is able to understand these tabular data and they can use this data for their own purposes. These data can be utilized by scientific personnel as well as farmers and that will be used in agriculture for better utilization of water resources to enhance agricultural productivity and income of farmers of Bihar state.

This article studies how the allocation structure of bank credit capital between state-owned and private enterprises and government environmental expenditures affect environmental pollution in China. The present literature argues that credit allocation and government environmental expenditures may play an important role in environmental quality improvement. However, these studies rarely consider the credit allocation structure between State-owned enterprises (SOEs) and private enterprises; in addition, they overlook the interaction effects of credit allocation and government environmental expenditures. Based on these, we put forward three hypotheses. Moreover, the study applies relevant spatial data for 2011–2017 from 31 provinces in China to a spatial econometric model, and the results indicate that (1) environmental pollution among provincial regions shows a significant positive spatial autocorrelation. (2) Environmental expenditures and environmental pollution display an inverse U-shaped relationship, which supports the numerical simulation results. (3) The interaction effect of credit allocation structure and environmental expenditures on environmental pollution is significantly positive, which means that the allocation of more credit capital to private enterprises will restrain the effect of government environmental expenditures. With the increasing significance of environmental protection in China, it is necessary to strengthen the supervision of private enterprises’ environmental pollution behavior, expand government expenditures on ecological protection, and promote regional collaborative environmental governance to improve environmental quality.

The effects of water depth, coverage rate and harvest regime on nutrient removal from wastewater and high-protein biomass production were assessed in a duckweed-based (Lemna aequinoctialis) pilot-scale wastewater treatment system (10 basins × 12 m2) that is located near Dianchi Lake in China. The results indicated that a water depth of 50 cm, a coverage rate of 150% and a harvest regime of 4 days were preferable conditions, under which excellent records of high-protein duckweed (dry matter production of 6.65 g/m2/d with crude protein content of 36.16% and phosphorus content of 1.46%) were obtained at a temperature of 12–21 °C. At the same time, the system achieved a removal efficiency of 66.16, 23.1, 48.3 and 76.52% for NH4+-N, TN, TP and turbidity, respectively, with the considerable removal rate of 0.465 g/m2/d for TN and 0.134 g/m2/d for TP at a hydraulic retention time of 6 days. In additionally, it was found that a lower duckweed density could lead to higher dissolved oxygen in the water and then a higher removal percentage of NH4+-N by nitrobacteria. This study obtains the preferable operation conditions for wastewater treatment and high-protein biomass production in a duckweed-based pilot-scale system, supplying an important reference for further large-scale applications of duckweed.

The spatial data presented several characteristics of mass, multiple, isomerism and multiple tenses, its organization and management mechanism is an important direction of research for Digital Earth. The management of grave emergency with regards to a series of spatial and non-spatial data concerning gathering and handling, having put a higher demand forward the ability of information gathering mechanism on client. The current existing client access mechanism such as C/S model lacks of unified data exchange standards, similarly, B/S model cannot handle the spatial data effectively. It is also difficulty to display for complex and massive spatial data in visualized and real-time. That efficiency depends entirely on the network environment and performance of storage equipment. In order to realize the massive spatial data unified dispatching and efficient sharing based on the principle of Information-gathering and Service-polymerization. We put forward a concept of Spatial-data-cloud which based on G/S model, supported by HGML as the standard and criterion of spatial data exchange, presentation, organization, storage and management. It could also be set up a new work mechanism which use Geo-information browser polymerization multiple and massive complex spatial and non-spatial data. This will provide us a lightweight client called Geo-information browser with which is by the principle Information-gathering and Service-polymerization. It provides emergency management for technical supports such as intelligent decision support, comprehensive research and judgment, and rapid disposal etc. It is the development of basic research of a novel model of Digital Earth.

The paper discusses the photogrammetric methods and process of creating geodata for aeronautical information databases. Efficient technology for collecting data on terrain, obstacles and cartographic information using satellite and aerial photos is given. The measurement, selection and evaluation of spatial data have met the international requirements for the completeness and accuracy as well as the developed structure of the attribute data base. The advantages of digital photogrammetric system and geographic information systems as the main software for aeronautical data gathering, are considered.

In order to meet the application requirements of visual management and analysis of the information about recycled water use, the spatial database for the City Recycled Water Use is designed and constructed in this paper based on Geodatabase the spatial data model as well as UML and CASE as tools. The View Layer design, Concept design and Logic Design of the database of the recycled water use is explained in details. Then the application of the designed database to implement the Dianchi Lake Basin recycled water use in GIS platform is carried out and parts of the details is described in this paper.

It is very important that assess the number of casualties, the losses of economy and building after the earthquake and in the absence of field investigations. The work of assessment is very significant to earthquake emergency rescue decisions. Because of this requirement, this paper design and develop an earthquake rapid assessment system which based on GIS technology. We can get earthquake disaster loss result which integrating maps, table and text by fusing the spatial data and attribute data in the GIS support in short time. This result can help us to compute the beginning levels of earthquake emergency response, which is an important auxiliary decision support supports.

Vegetation in urban areas can be viewed, as compensation for environmental change due to urbanization of plant diversity affecting the diversity of animals in an ecosystem, the loss of plant species will disrupt the food webs in the ecosystem. Research on the diversity of soil insects found in shade trees species is still not widely done. The purpose of this study were to identify the types of soil insects found in shade trees along Dinoyo and Tlogomas roadside in sub-district of Lowokwaru, Malang and to characterize spatial distribution of soil insect species found in shade trees along Dinoyo and Tlogomas roadside in sub-district of Lowokwaru Malang by using GIS application. Sampling was conducted at two different locations (MT Haryono and Tlogomas Road). Soil insect analysis was calculated using Shannon-Wiener (H') index at different sites. Variables measured were Relative Frequency (FR) and Relative Abundance (KR), while mapping Spatial descriptions. Distribution of soil insects was done by stages in spatial data analysis including digitization, attribute data, map overlay, and map output results. The results of this study obtained the number of species of soil insects as many as 14 species with a total of 287 individuals. Soil insects most commonly found were family Formicidae, the species of Momorium destructor with the number of individuals as much as 87 individuals, and Paratrechina longicornis as many as 86 individuals.

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computerized database management system for accumulating, storage, retrieval, analysis, and display spatial data. In general, GIS contains two broad categories of information, geo-referenced spatial data and attribute data. Geo-referenced spatial data define objects that have an orientation and relationship in two or three-dimensional space, while attribute data is qualitative data that can be counted for recording and analysis. The main aim of this research is to reveal the role of GIS technology in the enhancement of bridge maintenance management system components such as the output results, and make it more interpretable through dynamic colour coding and more sophisticated visualization techniques than the conventional tabular data format. To achieve the main objective of this research, two study areas have been chosen: the old constructionbridge (Al-Qadisiyah bridge) and the newly constructed bridge (Barboty bridge). Both of them are in Al-Muthanna city \ Iraq. The data collection process was achieved in two stages: the first stage is providing a georeferenced satellite image for each study area for the purpose of producing a two-dimensional map. The second stage includes the field surveying process by total station and level instruments. GIS have been used to create a comprehensive database (Geodatabase) for both study areas. Geostatistical analysis was carried out in which the settlement areas of both study areas were defined by producing a colour image. The statistical tables for these analyses showed that the highest decline in the elevation reached at Al-Qadisiyah bridge to 19 mm in the middle of the bridge which is coloured as a red areas. On the other hand, it was found that the highest decline in the elevation of the Barboty bridge is 16 mm in the last part of steel space which is also coloured as a red areas.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to apply Geographic Information System (GIS) in the development and utilization of Chinese ancient local chronicles to achieve the mining and visualization of historical data about products distribution and dispersal in Products in Local Chronicles of Guangdong. Design/methodology/approach – Using 1,756 records of product-related location names in Products in Local Chronicles of Guangdong of the Qing dynasty, which are recognized by a name recognition system, as attribute data; taking the spatial data of Chinese administrative geography of the Qing dynasty in 1820 and the Historical Atlas of China as spatial data; connect the attribute data with relevant spatial data based on the table connection function of Arcmap in Arcgis 8.3 to implement the data management, cartography and analysis. Findings – The application of GIS in the development and utilization of ancient local chronicles was quite successful. With some thematic maps, knowledge about products distribution and dispersal in ancient books was vividly displayed so as to facilitate relevant researches. Research limitations/implications – Only product-related location names inside China were analyzed, not other named entities in local chronicles; and only static visual display was achieved, not dynamic visual display. Historical maps of the world can be used to carry out the visualization of the products distribution and dispersal in the world, and even the visualization of other knowledge, such as poetries and songs scattered over many places in China. The process of products dispersal and the distribution of poetries and songs can be dynamically and visually displayed by pictures, audios, videos, multimedia, etc. Practical implications – By using GIS in the development and utilization of Chinese ancient local chronicles, this paper explores a new way for the collation of ancient books and open up a new area for the research of digital humanities. Originality/value – This is the first try about the application of GIS in the development and utilization of ancient local chronicles, and also the same of digital humanities research in the field of agricultural history.
