Groundwater basin is an area with hydrogeological limits where it is happened all of hydrogeological processes. Banyumudal Groundwater Basin is one of groundwater basin with unique characteristic because of receiving water source from surroundings area, that would influence probably to the water quality. This study was conducted to: (1) know the spatial distribution of dominant ions concentration in the groundwater; (2) analyze surroundings factors that influence the spatial distribution of dominant ions in the groundwater. To realize the objectives, it was carried out the removal of groundwater samples in the observational wells that were determined by purposive sampling. The analyzed elements were Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, SO42-, HCO3-, CO32-, Cl- and Fe2+ . The concentration of the dominant ions was realized in the form of Stiff Diagram and then was plotted in a map, so that it could be known the distribution. To analyze the process of mixing between the groundwater and water from the other sources with different chemical characteristics, it used the Piper Diagram, whereas to analyze the surroundings effects to the ionic concentration, it was conducted the analysis of quantitative descriptive. The study results showed that the groundwater from the northern part of Banyumudal Groundwater Basin has higher concentration of dominant ions compared with the southern ones. Viewed from each ion, the ionic concentration of Ca2+ and HCO3- are higher than other dominant ions and have more varied values, so that the change of chemical characteristics of the groundwater would tend to be determined by the concentration change of them. Type of rocks is the most influencing factor to the concentration of dominant ions in the study area. Nevertheless, the domestic waste has also little effects related to the sanitary condition in around of samples location of the groundwater.

In terms of geology, most areas in south of the Gunungkidul District in Central Java consist of the Wonosari formation limestone. The land is generally very dry and source of raw water is also difficult to reach. Findings on the existence of underground river in caves, however, indicate the potential amount of water within the area, especially in the eastern part of the Gunungkidul District. Although limited information available, some fishermen have discovered that Seropan cave contains fresh water source. This cave is situated at 65 m below the cliff. Initial exploration, which done using a multichannel resistivity method, confirmed the availability of freshwater in the cave and underground river. The isopach of cave depth is found in ranges of 80 200 m below the ground surface. The water of Seropan cave can be utilized by implementing pipeline or by drilling at the suggested point based on the interpretation results, i.e. 110o2223.6388 EL 8o42.874 SL. Career exploration reflects activities conducted to collect information about oneself and potential occupations to become self-aware and understand the job market. Career exploration guides the realization of career aspirations and is thus crucial for young adults. It helps the youth make appropriate career-relevant decisions. However, it is unknown whether career aspirations mediate the links between positive parenting and career exploration activities undertaken by urban third-year undergraduate students. This study aimed to bridge this gap in the literature, and to this end, a survey was administered to 125 third-year undergraduate students attending a state university in Semarang, Central Java. The Career Exploration Scale, Career Aspirations Scale, Positive Parenting Subscale, and questions on demographic characteristics were employed for data collection. Structural equation modeling demonstrated that career aspirations fully mediated the path between positive parenting and career exploration. The findings of this study underline the importance of career aspirations in translating the effects of positive parenting into specific career exploration activities undertaken by college students. Finally, suggestions based on the study results are offered for third-year undergraduate students, parents, and practitioners.

OBJECTIVE Analyze the spatial distribution of classical dengue and severe dengue cases in the city of Rio de Janeiro. METHODS Exploratory study, considering cases of classical dengue and severe dengue with laboratory confirmation of the infection in the city of Rio de Janeiro during the years 2011/2012. The georeferencing technique was applied for the cases notified in the Notification Increase Information System in the period of 2011 and 2012. For this process, the fields “street” and “number” were used. The ArcGis10 program’s Geocoding tool’s automatic process was performed. The spatial analysis was done through the kernel density estimator. RESULTS Kernel density pointed out hotspots for classic dengue that did not coincide geographically with severe dengue and were in or near favelas. The kernel ratio did not show a notable change in the spatial distribution pattern observed in the kernel density analysis. The georeferencing process showed a loss of 41% of classic dengue registries and 17% of severe dengue registries due to the address in the Notification Increase Information System form. CONCLUSIONS The hotspots near the favelas suggest that the social vulnerability of these localities can be an influencing factor for the occurrence of this aggravation since there is a deficiency of the supply and access to essential goods and services for the population. To reduce this vulnerability, interventions must be related to macroeconomic policies.

Spatial distribution of brackishwater pond soil has a vital role in the system of bioenvironment including brackishwater pond environment. This research was aimed to determine the spatial distribution of brackishwater pond soil characteristics in Pekalongan City, Central Java Province. A total of 59 sampling points each with two different soil depth samplings were determined by simple random method. A total of 21 soil characteristics were measured in the field and analyzed further in the laboratory. Geostatistic with Kriging Interpolation method in the ArcGIS 9.3 software were used to depict the distribution of the data across the landscape. Furthermore, the spatial distribution was presented by using ALOS AVNIR-2 image. Research result indicates that in general, pond soil in Pekalongan City can be classified as soil with high variability or relatively heterogenic with the value of variation coefficient more than 36%. Soil characteristics which have similar pattern of spatial distribution are acid sulfate soil and soil nutrient content. High value of pH, organic matter, and total-N of soil, and on the other hand, low value of PO4 were generally found in the pond area of Krapyak Lor Village, while in Pekalongan City, it was found high clayish soil content but relatively homogenous. It is recommended that pond management must be based on soil characteristics which are different from one area to another. The soil characteristics itself can be drawn and assessed through spatial distribution.

Exogenous factors such as topography of the region are often overlooked in determining the pattern of economic activity. In fact, the geographical surface contributes to the spatial distribution of varied economic activities. The purpose of this study was to see the linkage between the efficiency of the disbursement of People’s Business Credit (KUR) program and the topography of the region in Pati Regency-Central Java. The research method is descriptive qualitative by overlaying the efficiency level of 35 KUR channeling banks with polygon maps of each subdistrict in Pati regency. Data on the efficiency level of unit banks are secondary data of each bank unit which has been calculated with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) application. Is it dicovered that unit banks are very inefficient at topographies bordered with arid limestone mountains or along rivers that often overflows. As a result, economic activity is not optimal and the disbursement of KUR is not efficient at the area. On the contrary, at topographies in the lowlands, the trade, agriculture, and fisheries sectors are advanced, population is large,  economic activities are fast, thus encourage efficient credit disbursement.

The methodology and applicability of the study of spatial distribution of trees in Serbian forestry have been insufficiently reported and presented. This paper, based on mathematical?statistical principles, analyses the method of spatial distribution of spruce trees in the Nature Reserve 'Jankove Bare' in the National Park 'Kopaonik'. The following methods in the group of distance methods were applied: Kotar's method (1993), T2?method, and the index of distance dispersion (Johnson, Zimmer, 1985). The study results in a pure uneven-aged spruce stand based on all three methods showed that spruce trees are randomly distributed over the stand area. Therefore, environmental conditions in the study stand can be regarded as homogeneous and equally suitable for tree growth, and there are no significant interactions between the trees, which could cause a higher competition between the trees for nutrients, water, etc.

This study seeks to analyze the effect of logistics management carried out by warehouse operators, the facilities and access provided to support storage, and the competitiveness of storage costs on the use of warehouse financing by suppliers in Central Java, Indonesia. The sampling method was purposive random sampling. The numbers of respondents involved in this study were 120 suppliers and farmers producing first-rate agricultural products and who are users of warehouse receipts in the Central Java region. By using linear regression analysis with assistance, the study results found that the variables of logistic management, facilities and supply chain access as well as competitive storage costs have positive and significant effects on the use of warehousing financing by suppliers and farmers who use public warehousing. This result confirms that the more precisely warehousing is managed, the higher the level of trust of users involved in the logistics business and supply chain of agricultural products to use additional services in the form of warehouse receipts to support the sustainability of agricultural businesses.

This work is aimed at reviewing the chemical characteristics and evaluation of the quality of exploited groundwater in Beijiao water source of Yinchuan. A coupled model based on osculating value method (OVM) and entropy is proposed to determine the suitability for drinking. Besides, phreatic water and confined water are evaluated for irrigation purposes and industrial purposes, respectively. Piper diagram shows different hydrochemical characteristics between aquifers, which can be explained by the control mechanisms revealed by Gibbs diagram. Chloroalkaline indices and ions relationship indicate that reverse ion exchanges occur in different aquifers. Based on the osculating values, 96% of the phreatic water samples are fit for human consumption, and the confined water can provide quality drinking water. Most of the phreatic water samples have no sodium hazard but have magnesium hazard. All the confined water samples generate mild foaming reaction, and 93% of them are mildly corrosive for boilers. An assessment by OVM without entropy is calculated. Similar results to the coupled model demonstrate that pure OVM is also objective and valid. The simple algorithm turns multicriteria decision-making problems into an integrated index which is just as useful to water quality assessment.
