The article discusses the issues of determining the crop production profitability, which may arise when assessing agricultural land in the Samara region. When evaluating profitability, it is necessary to take into account revenue, cost of production. Moreover, taking into account factors for a short-term period (1 year) does not give a real picture, so in the context of counter-sanctions, when agricultural producers are in favorable conditions, an increased value of profitability is noted, which is impossible in the longterm.

The article examines the structure of the agricultural sector of the Voronezh region and changes in the size of land use of farms of different categories based on the results of the all-Russian agricultural censuses of 2006 and 2016.the significant differences between the data of the Federal registration service and the data obtained from the all-Russian agricultural censuses, in size and structure of agricultural lands related to agricultural lands are Revealed. The problem of limited information on the distribution and use of agricultural land and its reliability is noted. The differentiation of the Voronezh region districts by the size of the acreage and their contribution to the production of certain types of crop production, the dynamics of production of the main types of crop production in the region, the change in the structure of production of certain types of products by categories of farms. It is concluded that the fundamental changes in the sectoral structure, accompanied by the removal of crop rotations of forage crops, including annual and perennial grasses, led to a violation of the science-based system of agriculture and significantly limited the possibility of its biologization. Estimated evolution of yields of basic agricultural crops in the Voronezh region, changes which were provided with a comprehensive exposure to a wide range of factors, including the growth of seed quality, increasing doses of mineral fertilizers, the use of new plant protection products, development of new technologies of cultivation of agricultural crops, optimization of the timing of major manufacturing operations. Changes in the volume of direct investment in fixed capital of agriculture are studied. The trends identified in the study of the effectiveness of the use of productive land involved in the process of agricultural production are formulated.

Smallholder agriculture is a major source of income and food for developing nations. With more frequent drought and increasing scarcity of arable land, more accurate land-use planning tools are needed to allocate land resources to support regional agricultural activity. To address this need, we created Land Capability Classification (LCC) system maps using data from two digital soil maps, which were compared with measurements from 1305 field sites in the Dosso region of Niger. Based on these, we developed 250 m gridded maps of LCC values across the region. Across the region, land is severely limited for agricultural use because of low available water-holding capacity (AWC) that limits dry season agricultural potential, especially without irrigation, and requires more frequent irrigation where supplemental water is available. If the AWC limitation is removed in the LCC algorithm (i.e., simulating the use of sufficient irrigation or a much higher and more evenly distributed rainfall), the dominant limitations become less severe and more spatially varied. Finally, we used additional soil fertility data from the field samples to illustrate the value of collecting contemporary data for dynamic soil properties that are critical for crop production, including soil organic carbon, phosphorus and nitrogen.

The article examines the historical experience of the creation and operation of machine-technological stations, taking into account the peculiarities of their development in each period of their activities. The advantage of creation of machine-technological stations at city united territorial communities at the present stage as one of means of the maintenance of agricultural commodity producers from the area of the earths to 500 hectares of a full complex of technical means is outlined, the growth of which will contribute to the development of the market of agro-technological works and services. Among the main advantages - the proximity of technical means to the agricultural lands of farmers is a significant factor, given that the average size of the united territorial community is about 225 km2. In addition, the newly created machine-technological stations, whose activities will be aimed at working with small areas of agricultural land, will be equipped with appropriate technical means, which will save money. Restraining factors of development of machine-technological stations at the present stage are revealed, among which the main ones are limited financial resources at the stage of their creation, insufficient level of state support, lack of integration of machine-technological stations with agricultural enterprises that are consumers of their services. It is proposed to create a fund to support the newly created machine- technological stations at the city's united territorial communities to provide start-up capital in the form of interest-free loans on a competitive basis, which can be used for investment in technical means and equipment, working capital or expansion of agro-technological works. In addition, the improvement of programs of financial support for agricultural producers will promote the development of machine-technological stations in the agricultural sector. The implementation of the proposed proposals will contribute to the development of the market of agro-technological works and services in the direction of providing agricultural producers of small forms of management with a full range of quality technological services in a timely manner.

The article provides a comparative analysis of the results of the Russian Agricultural Census of 2006 and 2016. As a result, there is a decrease in the number of agricultural producers, a decrease in the size of agricultural land and equipment in organizations. Against this background, one can see an increase in the concentration of production in both crop and livestock production. Machine learning models have been built to classify subsidy organizations using Python libraries. The accuracy of the constructed models was up to 86 %, which proves the possibility of their use. In the future, the use of machine learning methods will reduce the number of Russian agricultural census indicators and classify organizations with high accuracy according to qualitative characteristics.

AbstractCounty agents receive cost of production information primarily from state extension services and then disseminate it to agricultural producers. A survey gathered data on agent usage of this information. A Poisson regression analysis using count data was performed to determine the factors influencing the number of times county agents directly referred to published cost of production (enterprise budget) information in a year. The agent's understanding of budget information use in management decisions, the availability of budgets, and his/her receiving the budgets in multiple forms (e.g., sheets, booklets, or software) had significant positive impacts on the use of budgets by the agent.

The article is aimed at identifying modern features of insurance in the agricultural sector of the Ukrainian economy and defining the factors of influence on the agricultural insurance market. The article discloses interpretation of the terms of «insurance» and «agricultural insurance» and also presents the types of possible risks arising in the activities of agricultural enterprises. The performance indicators of leading insurance companies in the field of agricultural insurance are analyzed. The current state and dynamics of insurance of agricultural risks, which arise both in the field of crop production and in livestock, are researched. This will allow predicting the future prospects of the market for insurance services and products, as well as finding possible optimal ways to solve the problems of product insurance, faced by the agricultural producers. The main factors influencing the efficiency of the insurance market in the agricultural insurance sector are allocated. The basic principles of insurance of agricultural products with the State support are analyzed. It is defined that the further development of agricultural insurance should be directed towards creating a profitable and safe environment for all participants in the agricultural market, which provides for the distribution of risks between agricultural producers, processing enterprises, banks, insurance companies and the State. The agricultural insurance of risks creates possibilities for advantageous harmonizing the interests of participants in the agricultural insurance market and the State as a party whose first priority is to ensure stable economic growth.
