This study explores the potential to reach a circular economy for post-consumer recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) packaging and bottles by using it as a distributed recycling for additive manufacturing (DRAM) feedstock. Specifically, rPET is processed using only an open source toolchain with fused particle fabrication (FPF) or fused granular fabrication (FGF) processing. In this study, first the impact of granulation, sifting and heating (and their combination) is quantified on the shape and size distribution of the rPET flakes. Then feeding studies were performed to see if they could be printed through an external feeder or needed to be direct printed with a hopper using two Gigabot X machines, one with extended part cooling and one without. Print settings were optimized based on thermal characterization and for the latter which was shown to print rPET directly from shredded water bottles mechanical testing is performed. The results showed that geometry was important for extended feeding tubes and direct printed using a hopper. Further there is a wide disparity in the physical properties of rPET from water bottles depending on source and the history of the material. Future work is needed to enable water bottles to be used as a widespread DRAM feedstock.

The sustainable development of the industrial enterprises in the Qaidam Circular Economy Pilot Zone must meet both the current needs and the future development, as well as the economic and ecological development, as well as the dual development of industrial enterprises and regions. For the industrial enterprises in the experimental area, in order to ensure sustainable development, their own strategies and efforts are very important, but in a policy-dependent area like Haixi Prefecture, the influencing factors of the objective environment are more important. The impact of sustainable development of HaiXi industrial enterprises is of great practical significance. Therefore, according to the subjectivity of Haixi Prefecture and the experimental area and the nature of industrial enterprises, the objective environmental factors are divided into four categories: regional development, regional material resources, regional greening, and regional security. In the end, it was concluded that industrial enterprises in the test area not only need to pay attention to the restraint of their sustainable development in terms of brain drain, energy consumption and environmental greening, but also continue to maintain the role of regional development and regional security in promoting their sustainable development.

The monograph examines the foundations of the theory of integration, the contradictions that have arisen, the factors and their impact on the growth of national economies. Among the problems of scientific and practical nature, the solution of which is based on the theory of macroeconomic growth, the most interesting are the identification of effective forms of integration. The article considers the current contradictions of the integration of the EAEU countries, as well as analyzes the features of the food embargo as an instrument of non-tariff regulation of world trade within the Union. It is proved that this category, being a coercive means for changing economic, political, and social conditions, includes various types of direct restrictions on trade between sovereign states. In addition, the monograph examines such a type of integration between enterprises as subcontracting and cooperation. Integration of this type allows us to reveal the potential of various enterprises, involve small and medium-sized industrial enterprises in the process, and, not least, gives a powerful impetus to the deep development of integration within the framework of the EAEU. The article presents the research on the influence of the foreign trade factor and the active participation of countries in the global division of labor on the growth of the national economy. To determine the parameters of the impact of foreign trade policy in the context of the accession of the Republic of Tajikistan to the WTO, an econometric model of growth is constructed, measured by the volume of GDP from a number of macroeconomic indicators, as well as the import tariff. The methodology of research of the modern branch market in the conditions of integration of national economies is presented. The main directions of the modern methodology of research of industrial markets, types of marketing markets and the types of market research that are in demand from business structures in the context of integration of national economies are considered. Special attention in this section is paid to the main stages of the modern process of marketing research of industry markets. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and measures to combat it on the cyclical dynamics of economic growth in Russia and other countries of the world is studied. Econometric models of Russia's foreign trade within the framework of the development and expansion of the EAEU have been developed. The hypothesis that in the future the growth of trade turnover is possible taking into account the GDP growth of the EAEU member states is tested. The monograph is intended for managers and specialists of public administration and corporate management, researchers, politicians, doctoral students, postgraduates and students.

The article considers the quality of life of population and the impact of man-made accidents and disasters during stable functioning of industrial enterprises. The author offered to take into account the influence of anthropogenic factors, the source of which is industrial production, provoking man-made accidents and catastrophes, when assessing the quality of life of population. To fully take into account the factors affecting the quality of life of population, a comprehensive methodology created by the Council for the Study of Productive Forces by order of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation that contains 19 indicators for diagnosing the quality of life of the population of the region, grouped by seven main areas, was chosen. Changes in the system of indicators of the consolidated index of the quality of life of the population under the influence of man-made accidents and catastrophes in the context of 7 spheres are shown. As an example, the impact on the main components of the quality of life of the population of the largest man-made disaster in the history of mankind and the nuclear industry - the Chernobyl accident - is considered.

The article is aimed at formulating the scientific-practical aspects of assessing the adaptive potential of industrial enterprises, taking into account the constant changes in the society’s needs. The publication defines that throughout the history of mankind industry advanced the development of civilization. Improvement of mechanisms, technologies, inventions that transformed the interaction and communication of people, irrevocably changed the development of civilization. Global industrial revolution significantly affected the lives and views of all nations. The modern era of risk and instability, globalization and new technologies all together transform the functioning conditions of the business environment and cause deep concern of many managers. On the basis of the carried out study, time ranges of the duration of crisis cycles are explored, an analysis of the cycles of crises (rise and depression) according to M. Kondratiev is carried out. The approach to overcoming the consequences of crises by industrial enterprises has been developed. Taking into account the impact of the crisis on the process of formation of an adaptively oriented management system of industrial enterprises on the basis of innovating, an algorithm for assessing their adaptive potential has been formed, which will be the grounds for producing effective managerial decisions on their development. The proposed algorithm of the scientific-practical approach to assessing the adaptive potential of industrial enterprises consists of the following stages: preparatory (research, projecting, adjustment); analytical (assessment of the dynamics of adaptive potential of industrial enterprises); pragmatic (defining development prospects).

Abstract. Background: Self-esteem is a major contributor to risk for repeated suicide attempts. Prior research has shown that awareness of stigma is associated with reduced self-esteem among people with mental illness. No prior studies have examined the association between self-esteem and stereotype awareness among individuals with past suicide attempts. Aims: To understand the relationship between stereotype awareness and self-esteem among young adults who have and have not attempted suicide. Method: Computerized surveys were administered to college students (N = 637). Linear regression analyses were used to test associations between self-esteem and stereotype awareness, attempt history, and their interaction. Results: There was a significant stereotype awareness by attempt interaction (β = –.74, p = .006) in the regression analysis. The interaction was explained by a stronger negative association between stereotype awareness and self-esteem among individuals with past suicide attempts (β = –.50, p = .013) compared with those without attempts (β = –.09, p = .037). Conclusion: Stigma is associated with lower self-esteem within this high-functioning sample of young adults with histories of suicide attempts. Alleviating the impact of stigma at the individual (clinical) or community (public health) levels may improve self-esteem among this high-risk population, which could potentially influence subsequent suicide risk.

The paper provides new survey evidence on effects of concentrated ownership upon investment and performance in Russian industrial enterprises. Authors trace major changes in their ownership profile, assess pace of post-privatization redistribution of shareholdings and provide evidence on ownership concentration in the Russian industry. The major econometric findings are that the first largest shareholding is negatively associated with the firm’s investment and performance but surprisingly the second largest shareholding is positively associated with them. Moreover, these relationships do not depend on identity of majority shareholders. These results are consistent with the assumption that the entrenched controlling owners are engaged in extracting "control premium" but sizable shareholdings accumulated by other blockholders may put brakes on their expropriating behavior and thus be conductive for efficiency enhancing. The most interesting topic for further more detailed analysis is formation, stability and roles of coalitions of large blockholders in the corporate sector of post-socialist countries.

This chapter traces the early history of state-sponsored informational filmmaking in Denmark, emphasising its organisation as a ‘cooperative’ of organisations and government agencies. After an account of the establishment and early development of the agency Dansk Kulturfilm in the 1930s, the chapter considers two of its earliest productions, both process films documenting the manufacture of bricks and meat products. The broader context of documentary in Denmark is fleshed out with an account of the production and reception of Poul Henningsen’s seminal film Danmark (1935), and the international context is accounted for with an overview of the development of state-supported filmmaking in the UK, Italy and Germany. Developments in the funding and output of Dansk Kulturfilm up to World War II are outlined, followed by an account of the impact of the German Occupation of Denmark on domestic informational film. The establishment of the Danish Government Film Committee or Ministeriernes Filmudvalg kick-started aprofessionalisation of state-sponsored filmmaking, and two wartime public information films are briefly analysed as examples of its early output. The chapter concludes with an account of the relations between the Danish Resistance and an emerging generation of documentarists.

This article is part of a special Left History series reflecting upon changing currents and boundaries in the practice of left history, and outlining the challenges historians of the left must face in the current tumultuous political climate. This series extends a conversation first convened in a 2006 special edition of Left History (11.1), which asked the question, “what is left history?” In the updated series, contributors were asked a slightly modified question, “what does it mean to write ‘left’ history?” The article charts the impact of major political developments on the field of left history in the last decade, contending that a rising neoliberal and right-wing climate has constructed an environment inhospitable to the discipline’s survival. To remain relevant, Palmer calls for historians of the left to develop a more “open-ended and inclusive” understanding of the left and to push the boundaries of inclusion for a meaningful historical study of the left. To illustrate, Palmer provides a brief materialist history of liquorice to demonstrate the mutability of left history as a historical approach, rather than a set of traditional political concerns.
