AbstractDesign research informs and supports practice by developing knowledge to improve the chances of producing successful products. Training in design research has been poorly supported. Design research uses human and natural/technical sciences, embracing all facets of design; its methods and tools are adapted from both these traditions. However, design researchers are rarely trained in methods from both the traditions. Research in traditional sciences focuses primarily on understanding phenomena related to human, natural, or technical systems. Design research focuses on supporting improvement of such systems, using understanding as a necessary but not sufficient step, and it must embrace methods for both understanding reality and developing support for its improvement. A one-semester, postgraduate-level, credited course that has been offered since 2002, entitled Methodology for Design Research, is described that teaches a methodology for carrying out research into design. Its steps are to clarify research success; to understand relevant phenomena of design and how these influence success; to use this to envision design improvement and develop proposals for supporting improvement; to evaluate support for its influence on success; and, if unacceptable, to modify, support, or improve the understanding of success and its links to the phenomena of design. This paper highlights some major issues about the status of design research and describes how design research methodology addresses these. The teaching material, model of delivery, and evaluation of the course on methodology for design research are discussed.

Abstract:

This paper aims to investigate the characteristics of micro financing in the municipality of Puebla, in order to make a diagnosis that can generate knowledge on the subject of financing this kind of business. The relevance of studying staff turnover is determined by the contradiction between the requirements of development and organization efficiency and the likely negative consequences of the high dynamics of the shift of workers. The research methodology consisted of a theoretical analysis of work on personnel turnover, analysis of national statistics, the calculation of descriptive statistics based on the assessment of turnover factors in a particular organization. The results can be used to study the fluidity and make decisions to reduce its level.

The history of animal names begins with the early epochs of human evolution, when animalism was one of the basic components of the worldview. Despite a considerable number of works that study zoological vocabulary, the uncertainty of a number of terms and a certain arbitrariness of the use of terms and concepts associated with animal names is still present in onomastics, e.g. "zoonym" and "zoomorphism" refer to such concepts. The purpose of the article is to clarify the terminological meaning of these concepts, to generalize and systematize the basic research on the theory of zoonymic nominations. The research methodology was formed on the basis of theoretical positions in the field of onomastics and the theory of nominations in modern linguistics. As a result of the theoretical analysis the following findings were made. First, the terms "zoonym" and "zoomorphism" are not synonymous. "Zoonym" is a more general term than "zoomorphism". Zoomorphism represents zoological names of anthropological nature, attributing the traits associated with the image of an animal to a human. Zoonyms do not have such attributes. "Zoonim" is proposed to be the general term. Another finding was that the functioning of zoonyms and zoomorphisms in the literary text is influenced by the genre of the text, which is expressed in the genre determinism of the lexical composition of zoonyms nominating animals.

Introduction. The article critically comprehends the Soviet developments in the field of mining management personnel labor regulation. The works of modern authors and Soviet normative and methodological materials are considered. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the Soviet methodological approaches to rationing the number of management personnel in general meet the challenges of modern conditions if critically scrutinized. In the course of the research the authors carried out a recalculation of the number of standards for ferrous metallurgy enterprises, which showed that the Soviet methodological approaches can have applied value if they are somewhat modernized and combined with other methods. Research aim is to conduct an analytical study of the possibility of using the Soviet methodology of rationing the number of management personnel in the conditions of modern mining enterprises. Research methodology includes the method of theoretical analysis, the method of induction, economic and mathematical methods of analysis. As a result, analytical formulas are proposed with the help of which it is proposed to modify the Soviet approaches to rationing the number of managerial personnel. A logical scheme is proposed, which can be fully used for the final establishment of the number of managers and staff scheduling. The opinion is expressed about the need for strict control of the number of management personnel and the establishment of a normative balance between the number of performers (workers) and engineering and management personnel of the enterprise. Summary. The proposed method is quite universal and can be of practical value in calculating the standard number of employees of mining enterprises

The object of this research is attention, while the subject is the peculiarities of selective attention to various facts presented in forensic problem. A hypothesis is advanced that there is a dependence between attention to the fact, reflected in the amount of its interpretations in a written solution of the problem by the examinee on the one hand; and number of subsidiary elements specifying its separate sides, task conditions in the task on the other. In other words, if the text is a hierarchical structure illustrating the act of narration from general to specific, the fact that is not just mentioned, but described in details, attracts attention only due to the amount of defining subsidiary elements, regardless of content of the fact itself. Research methodology includes theoretical analysis of literature on the factors affective selectiveness of attention; experiment – a solution of forensic problems by examinees of different gender; surveying with open-ended questions. The novelty consists in identification of the previously unstudied factor influencing the “noticeability” of fact in the text for a reader: its position within the hierarchical system of facts. The conclusion is formulated that the biggest role in attraction of attention to the fact is played not by the overall number of subsidiary element, but rather their number at the closest level of hierarchy.
