The article discusses the study results of the Russian teachers’ professional longevity. The authors try to highlight the role of value-semantic factors that determine the teacher’s orientation to the productive extension of his professional path beyond the retirement age. The study results, in particular, the analysis of data from in-depth interviews with teachers of retirement age (n = 40) allows us to assert a significant contribution of value-semantic factors to the overall picture of the process of a teacher’s transition to the post-professional period of his life. In particular, three main transition strategies are identified: 1. Postponement; 2. Smooth transition; 3. Forced finish. Each strategy corresponds to a certain type of indicators of a value-semantic nature: attitude to health, attitude to the level of one’s professional efficiency, combining professional and personal goals. There is a high diagnostic value of the metaphor method in the study of the respondents’ professional path.

Wine tourism experiences promote not only rural territories’ distinctive wine and food products, but also their local identity, natural and cultural resources and historical features that add value and uniqueness to tourist experiences. The new experience paradigm applied to tourism invites stakeholders to rethink how and why tourists travel and live their experiences on holidays. Interaction and engagement are components of co-creation, stressing the central role of visitors sharing value creation with other destination stakeholders. The present qualitative study uses discourses from 22 semi-structured in-depth interviews with visitors to Portugal’s Bairrada wine region. Content analysis, carried out with QRS Nvivo 12, shows that interaction enhances wine and food experiences in several contexts. Storytelling seems to contribute to value creation, with stories co-created between winemakers or other destination stakeholders and visitors. Apart from this social interaction, visitors’ physical interaction with natural and cultural destination features is also revealed as a crucial part of wine tourism experiences. Study results suggest the importance of DMOs, facilitating co-creation experiences in wine regions, contributing to visitor satisfaction and loyalty.

The low business capacity of broiler farmers is the reason behind the failure to achieve a sustainable farming business. Efforts for capacity building could be conducted by private extension agents who are the technical personnel of core companies in the broiler partnership pattern. The purpose of this study was to analyze the private extension agents’ strategies in strengthening the farmers’ capacity. The study was conducted in Bogor Regency and Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province using a survey approach on 247 farmers who run poultry-raising businesses using the partnership pattern based on Slovin’s equation out of the partner farmer population of 646 people. The sample selection used cluster random sampling with farmer clusters from the two regencies. Data were collected through questionnaires completed by farmers and in-depth interviews of key informants. Data were collected from July to October 2018. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis with SEM. The study results revealed that the farmers’ capacity and private extension agents’ competence and role were weak. The farmers’ low capacity was influenced by the private extension agents' weak role. The weak private extension agents’ role was influenced by the private extension agents’ competence which was also weak. Strategies to increase the role of private extension agents are by strengthening their competence through strong collaborations between the government and partner companies so that they may, in turn, strengthen the farmers’ capacity.

What role do nurses play in euthanasia? How do they experience this role and what should be their ideal role? These are the questions of a study undertaken to gain insight into the role of nurses in euthanasia. Answers to these questions were derived from 20 semistructured in-depth interviews with nurses employed in a Dutch hospital. To make clear the role of nurses in euthanasia, the issue was split up into four phases: observation of a request for euthanasia; decision making; carrying out of the request; and after-care. This article is a brief report on the most important results regarding these four phases. Special attention will be paid to nurses who have conscientious objections. To evaluate the study results, an unambiguous interpretation of the concept of ‘euthanasia’ is of most importance. For that reason, Dutch laws and other regulations concerning euthanasia will be explained.

A 24-item questionnaire was designed to collect specific data in order to determine Omani students’ attitudes toward agriculture and, specifically, whether or not these attitudes differ according to gender and the geographical regions where students reside. A survey research method based on the use of a questionnaire was employed. The questionnaire items were divided into four domains: participants’ general knowledge about agriculture, their personal interest about agriculture, the role of government in supporting agriculture, and the role of agriculture in food security. The questionnaire was administered to 394 randomly selected Grade 10 students. Participants consisted of 189 male students and 205 female students in total. Questionnaires were distributed to 130 students from North Al Batinah Governorate, 142 from Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, and 122 from Muscat Governorate. Questionnaire reliability was calculated using Cronbach’s alpha, an internal consistency method, which resulted in a value of 0.83 for the instrument. The study was conducted in the 2016/2017 academic year. The findings indicated that students’ attitudes toward agriculture, overall, were positive and both gender and geographical region had an effect upon their attitudes. The results of this study demonstrate a need to recommend improving students’ attitudes towards agriculture, especially for students who reside in the Muscat Governorate; for example, schools should be encouraged to include agricultural collaborative learning activities, both inside and outside the classroom. Overall, the study results suggest a benefit in conducting additional research in the area of agriculture education in Oman.

The apophaticism of Russian language and culture, which manifests itself at the conceptual level of the language, has formed a problem field of research. The aim of the article is to analyze a method for creating an apophatic effect associated with Thanatos and Eros in the Russian version of logocentrism. At the center of the research is the apophatic component of Russian artistic verbal culture. The material for the study was the text of Sergey Yesenin’s well-known late poem “Oh My Dear Maple, Frozen Stiff and Bare”. The methodology is reduced to a holistic analysis of the literary text using an onto-hermeneutic approach and a semantic method of research, which can bring the recipient closer to the apophatic horizon of poetry. The author notes the presence in the poetic text of two ethoses – of life and of death, which are marked in the poem by the dendronyms “maple” and “birch”, respectively. In Yesenin’s poetic world, the role of dendronyms is great: through the images of the maple and the birch, the poet’s ideas about the world, which coincide with the folklore archaic ones, are revealed. Yesenin’s maple is anthropomorphic, it is more than just a tree: there is a tree code that functions in the poet’s artistic world and takes on different forms. The symbolic ambiguity and anthropomorphism of both the maple and the birch create an apophatic effect in the poem. The author of the article draws parallels with the folklore tradition, the fairy tale, for which the search for “another kingdom”, also apophatic in nature, is axiologically and ontologically important. Through myth and folklore, it is possible to decode the dark apophatic places in Yesenin’s authorial word. The study results in the identification of the ontological plan of “Oh My Dear Maple, Frozen Stiff and Bare”, which is associated with the apophatic questions and the thanatological subtext in the poem. In modern research paradigms, apophaticism has moved from the purely theological and philosophical spheres to the problem field of cultural studies. Thinking about the art of words and the “yesterday” of our art in the apophatic aspect helps to approach the comprehension of ultimate essences, the absolutes of culture: among others, the phenomenon of death as a value of culture, and the ethos of life, which has also become apophatic and thanatological. Thus, it is possible to trace the vertical transmission of culture through an appeal to the myth and folklore that inspire Yesenin’s artistic existence.

Background: Widespread social paradigms on which the status variances are grounded in any society, gender plays pivotal role in manifestation of mental health problems (Rutter, 2007). A hefty volume of research has addressed the issue in adults nonetheless, little is vividly known about the role of gender in adolescent psychopathology. Sample: A sample of 240 adolescents (125 boys, 115 girls) aging 12-18 years was amassed from various secondary schools of Islamabad with the approval of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), relevant authorities of the schools and the adolescents themselves. Instruments: Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale (Taylor & Spence, 1953) and Children’s Negative Cognitive Errors Questionnaire (CNCEQ) by Leitenberg et al., (1986) were applied in present study. Results: Multiple regression analysis revealed that cognitive errors jointly accounted for 78% of variance in predicting anxiety among adolescents. Findings also exhibited that gender significantly moderated the relationship between cognitive errors and adolescent anxiety. Implications of the findings are discoursed for future research and clinical practice.
