AbstractThe study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of an information booklet on knowledge regarding the importance of birth spacing among primi para mothers from 01.08.2011 to 31.10.2011. An evaluative approach with one group pre test post test design was used for the study. 60 samples were selected using purposive sampling method. The present study was conducted in Justice K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital, Mangalore. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Distribution of primipara mothers according to their level of knowledge showed that 49 (81.7%) had poor knowledge score [score range 0-12], 11(18.3%) had average knowledge [score range 13-25] and none of them had good knowledge [score range 26-37]. The Mean knowledge score in the pre-test was 7.96 which had increased after administration of the information booklet, with mean knowledge score in the post-test by 31.15. A significant difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge was found (t=28.945, P < 0.05) among the primi para mothers by providing an information booklet. There was significant association between the level of knowledge and demographic variables such as educational status, income and previous knowledge.

Background:Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) is the care given to new born immediately after the birth in which SSC is provided to boost growth in LBW along with other benefits. KMC is a novel method of care of infants under 2000 grams of birth weight. KMC has been developed for fostering neurobehavioral development and supporting parent-infant intimacy and attachment. The current study aims at assessing the efficacy of SlM about KMC amid registered nurses. Objective:To assess existing knowledge about KMC, to develop, validate and administer SIM on KMC, to find efficacy of SIM on knowledge of registered nurses about KMC and to associate the knowledge score of staff nurse about KMC and their selected demographic variables. Methods: This study was conducted in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Five hundred staff nurses from hospital were enrolled through simple random sampling. A pre-test done to assess pre-interventional knowledge. Followed by SIM introduction to subjects. After 7 days, post-test was conducted. Result: Results showed that about two-third (77.2%) of the total sample were within age group 21 to 30 years. 86.8% of staff nurses had major source of knowledge related to KMC through academic. The result showed mean knowledge score in pre-test was 23.60 and in post-test was 49.16 among staff nurse. It showed the all the nurses had achieved good level of knowledge after implementation of SIM. The findings (Z=40.78) showed that calculated value (40.78) was more than tabulated value (1.96) at 0.001% significance. Hence, it indicated significant difference and efficacy of SIM on knowledge gained by the staff nurses. The level of knowledge of post-test among staff nurses was higher than pretest. Conclusion: The SIM facilitated them to update their knowledge related to KMC. Hence, more awareness and training programmes should be conducted so that this method can be implemented throughout the country.

Quantitative experimental approach and pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design used in this study. The sample size was 60 antenatal mothers. A pre-test was conducted to assess the knowledge on antenatal mothers followed by administration of video teaching programme. After one hour conducted post-test using the same questionnaire. The study finding revealed that after the administration of video teaching programme among antenatal mothers post-test mean score of knowledge was 27.10 with Standard Deviation 2.60 was higher than the pre-test mean score of knowledge was 9.02 with Standard Deviation 2.69. Hence there was a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge scores and the hypothesis was accepted. The calculated paired 't' test value of t=33.64 was found to be statistically highly significant at (P<0.001) association between post-test knowledge scores and socio-demographic variables. This clearly infers there is a significant improvement in the post-test level of knowledge regarding gestational diabetic Mellitus among antenatal mothers.

In the post test 50(83.33%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 10(16.67%) has adequate knowledge. The effectivess of self instructional module was calculated by the paired t test (t=12.880) was found to be statistically highly significant at p<0.001 OBJECTIVE To assess the pre test level of existing knowledge on HIV among drivers. (2)To determine the effectiveness of self instructional module on HIV among drivers. (3)To find the association between the level of knowledge with their selected demographic variables METHODS Quantative research approach and pre experimental one group pre test post test design was used to assess the effectiveness of self instructional module on HIV to drivers. After obtaining permission from Saveetha College Of Nursing , the investigator selected 60 drivers by using purposive sampling technique. Tani Maju farmer group is one of the farming groups located in Rorotan Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta City Administration. This group has a lot of sheep and advanced management. Despite they manage their sheep well, they are not well informed on how to manage the sewage from their castles (faces and urine). So far, they just throw away the sewage or gave them to fellow farmers. This study aimed to analyze the level of farmers' knowledge in making use of sheep's urine to be degraded into bio urine in the Maju Farmer group. Data was collected through the pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon statistical software (IBM SPSS Statistics 25). The results of the study showed that farmers' knowledge in sewage (Urine) management increased; there is a significant difference in farmers' level of knowledge in bio urine production before and after bio urine extension.

Hypertension (HTN) is an enormous health problem and is one of the biggest health challenges in the 21st century. Effective management in hypertension requires a multi-sectorial approach. Dietary management plays a vital role in managing blood pressure especially beetroot juice which contains nitrates helps in vasodilation thus reducing hypertension. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of information booklet on knowledge regarding hypertension and supplementation of beetroot juice among hypertensive patients and To find the association between mean pre-test knowledge score about hypertension and supplementation of beet root juice with the selected demographic variables. A pre-experimental one group, pre-test post-test design was used for the study. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 30 hypertensive patients. The investigator assessed the knowledge regarding HTN and supplementation of beetroot juice in managing hypertension using structured knowledge questionnaire and then the information booklet was administered to the subjects. The collected data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The mean post-test knowledge score (x2=23.87) was higher than the mean pre-test knowledge score (x1=17.40). The mean difference between post-test and pre-test knowledge score was highly significant. The obtained ‘t’ value (11.75) is higher than the table value (t29=1.70 at p<0.05 level significance). There was no significant association between knowledge score and selected demographic variables like age, gender, religion, education, occupation, income, and duration of illness. (2=2.143, 2=0.536, 2=0.000, 2=0.536, 2=2.143, 2=0.133, 2=0.536). Hence it can be concluded that information booklet is an effective strategy for providing information and improving the knowledge of adult hypertensive patients.
