Greece is a highly seismogenic country. To be more specific, it is the 6th most seismically active country worldwide, as well as the very most earthquake-prone country in Europe. Undoubtedly, earthquakes is a natural phenomenon that people can't prevent, or forecast. What we can do, is take appropriate measures in order to be shielded against this phenomenon. We should try to be informed enough and be active to protect ourselves. Prevention is the key word to this venture. And what can school do to make a difference? Of course, educate us the best way possible and care not only for our academic knowledge, but also for the growing of abilities, skills and qualifications that will contribute in our adaptation to the constant social changes, and will help us develop characteristics that will be proven useful in our future.   After all we, students, are the future citizens of our world, and the only way to make it it is to be gifted enough.

The article briefly analyzes the further biography and creative development of graduate students of Kyiv State Institute of Arts, whose achievements in the field of book graphics were presented in 1977 at the Retrospective Exhibition of Theses of Art Colleges of the USSR in Leningrad. Their creative work has become significant for the development of Ukrainian book graphics. In the section of book graphics, 19 artists who defended their diploma works within the period of 1954 (H. Yakutovych, illustrations and registration to Ugrium-reka («Gloomy river»), a book by V. Shishkov, through 1975 (I. Zubkovska, illustrations and etchings to Smert u Kyievi («Death in Кyiv»)a book by P. Zahrebelny). With time, many of the graduate students who participated in the 1977 exibition became academicians or corresponding members of Academmy of Sciences, People`s and Honored artists of Ukraine, and winners of various awards. Some of them received the high title of winners of Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine for their further creative work. At the retrospective exhibition here in concern, the young Ukainian artists of the generation of 1960 th and 1970 th had clearly demonstrated their significant contribution to development of book graphical art despite the constant Communist ideological pres- sure on arts in the Soviet times. Synthesis of strong academic knowledge and free creative search helped many of them to reveal their great potentialities in the future. With time, the graphic artists here in concern managed to offer the strong creative output that once again, proved the high artistic level of Kyiv graphic school.

The article shows that the entrenched orientation of higher education towards the demands of the labor market requires rethinking and adjustment, since in modern conditions it does not guarantee the effectiveness of university’s activities and the ability to meet the challenges of the future. The real basis and guarantee of the university’s success is now the “synchronization” of its development strategy with the historical and epistemological trends in the development of knowledge, its functions and forms of being. In this context, the role and place of techno-science at university and university processes – research, design, and educational – is becoming especially important. It is argued that the current trends in the development of knowledge and science bring to life (and have already provoked) a new “projective-personal” paradigm of education. It is not focused on mastering the maximum academic knowledge (as it has been so far), but on individualizing the trainee’s educational trajectory and mastering the methods of synthesizing knowledge and project activities.

In the article the author considers the ways of forming the methodological culture of the future teacher-musician, which is considered as a system that includes scientific knowledge, experience of creative activity and experience of emotional and value attitude to research activity. The current stage of development of the education system in Ukraine is characterized by educational innovations aimed at preserving the achievements of the past, and, at the same time, to modernize the education system in accordance with the requirements of the time, the latest science, culture and social practice. A characteristic feature of this period of educational development is the search for new content, forms, methods and means of teaching, education and management; deployment of extensive experimental work aimed at implementing educational innovations, which provides a high level of methodological culture of the teacher. To understand the importance of project activities as the basis for the formation of methodological culture of modern teachers, it is important to understand its essence - from theory to practice, combining academic knowledge with pragmatic and maintaining the appropriate balance at each stage of learning, because today there is a wide difference in definition. We consider methodological culture as a socio-cultural philosophical phenomenon in the plane of the following parameters: project as a method; project method as a system; organizational form of formation of methodological culture of the teacher; introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process as a kind of productive activity of a modern teacher. The introduction of project activities in the practical work of teachers is becoming one of the important needs of today, but it is possible only with thorough training. Unfortunately, there is a simplified understanding of the essence of the project method only as a means of cognitive activity, in-depth study of the subject, development of new knowledge, although it is known that the mission of the project method is to overcome the contemplative dogmatic approach to knowledge, competence, skills solving life problems and the formation of the methodological culture of the teacher. Thus, the formation of the methodological culture of the teacher on the basis of project activities is one of the current areas and main tasks of modern education. This requires the teacher to understand the essence of educational phenomena, familiarize with the logic of the research process, the formation of experience to analyze and predict its further development, which, in turn, will increase the level of methodological culture, contribute to innovative solutions to extraordinary problems.. The purpose of professional education of the future teacher-musician is to form the foundations of his methodological culture. The leading tasks of professional education of a specialist include the formation of skills of practical artistic and pedagogical activities (music performance, vocal conducting, musicology, etc.); formation of bases of methodological thinking; formation of readiness for independent research activity; formation of skills of methodological analysis; formation of skills of professional reflection.

This reflection introduces a new term to the debate on open access publishing: diamond open access (DOA) publishing. The debate on open access is a debate about the future of academia. We discuss the problems of for-profit academic publishing, such as monopoly prices and access inequalities and point at the limits of contemporary perspectives on open access as they are frequently advanced by the publishing industry, policy makers and labour unions. The article introduces a public service and commons perspective that stresses the importance of fostering and publicly supporting what we term the model of diamond open access. It is a non-profit academic publishing model that makes academic knowledge a common good, reclaims the common character of the academic system and entails the possibility for fostering job security by creating public service publishing jobs. Existing concepts such as “gold open access” have serious conceptual limits that can be overcome by introducing the new term of diamond open access. The debate on open access lacks visions and requires social innovations. This article is a policy intervention and reflection on current issues related to open access (OA) publishing. It reflects on the following questions: * What should the role of open access be in the future of academic publishing and academia? * How should the future of academic publishing and academia look like? * Which reforms of academic policy making are needed in relation to open access publishing? We want to trigger a new level of the open access debate. We invite further reflections on these questions by academics, policy makers, publishers, publishing workers, labour unions, open access publishing associations, editors and librarians.Twitter: #DiamondOA

AbstractThe presence of Pesantren for women in Indonesia is nothing new as, since tens of years ago, Islamic boarding schools for women have their own share in the society. Besides having peculiarities, Islamic boarding school for women is certainly capable of preparing the younger generation of educators in the future. Diniyah Putri Lampung (DPL) can be considered the only female Islamic boarding school that has a plus in education in this region. In addition to equipping students with the academic knowledge, it also prepares them with a number of practical knowledge which would be useful when they get married. Throughqualitative research, it was found that Diniyah Putri Lampung was founded by some public figures of Lampung who care about education. They sent some young women to study at Diniyah Putri in Padang Panjang, West Sumatera, to study. It can be concluded that DPL is a “copy” of Diniyah Putri in Padang Panjang in terms of education, cadre preparation, and curriculum.

Purpose Terrorism is as old as humanity itself, but its new form in the twenty-first century is adversely affecting the performance of businesses in both developing and developed countries. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse the evolution and diffusion of academic knowledge on the topic of terrorism in business-related literature. Design/methodology/approach Data was gathered from two databases, namely, the Scopus and Web of Science over 30 years (1990–2019). The search terms related to terrorism in titles, abstracts and authors’ keywords, which resulted in a total of 1,097 articles. Bibliometric methods, including a thematic and content analysis identifying main themes and using Gephi and VOSviewer software, were used to analyse the data. Findings The results reveal the productivity of the main actors, current thematic choices and future research opportunities. The main thematic areas of the research arising from the bibliometric analysis included the impact of terrorism on economic growth, Foreign Direct Investment, tourism, stock market reforms, security of multinational corporations as a result of terrorism and finally, the impact of political instability and terrorism on business. This study’s findings may guide the research of future academics and assist policy stakeholders in their strategic choices related to future business development. Research limitations/implications The study has certain limitations that are inherent to the bibliometric methods or to the choices related to data collection and processing. Practical implications This study recognised evolution and trends regarding the influence of terrorism on businesses, which is crucial information for the development of business and policy strategies in the future. These strategies should enhance the ability of businesses to cope with the negative effects of terrorism and make these effects less devastating. For academics, this study provides relevant insights on recent research trends in the field of terrorism in business and emerging future academic thematic opportunities. Social implications The findings of the study indicate that issues of terrorism in business have broader social implications, which both academia and policy stakeholders can attend with their work. Originality/value This bibliometric review offers new insights into terrorism from the business lens by identifying the common streams of research in the field, along with the key journals, articles, countries, institutions, authors, data sources and networks in this field. The future research directions in this field of knowledge are also articulated in the study.

The aim of the work was to demonstrate the possibility of using artificial intelligence technologies and instrumental psychodiagnostics tools to ensure the effective operation of cognitive learning mechanisms. The presented literary review shows the main directions of modern scientific thought in relation to the use of artificial intelligence in education. These are adaptive learning systems, whose main task is to adapt educational content within the framework of personalization of learning, and educational chatbots (virtual assistants, tutors), which assess the student’s progress, monitor what and when the student studied, collect students’ opinions about the teacher, predict educational problems and help to overcome them, predict academic results. The presented analysis of the scientific elaboration of the problem of using artificial intelligence for the tasks of ensuring the cognitive effectiveness of training showed the lack of such elaboration. The possibilities of integrating instrumental psychodiagnostics methods, such as laser Doppler vibrometry, bioradiolocation, eytracking, thermography, recognition and analysis of audio and video recordings, into intelligent educational systems have not been studied at all. The idea that the educational place of the student of the future should be provided with at least several instrumental psychodiagnostic channels has been expressed. At the same time, the artificial intelligence system must coordinate the information received for these various channels. The article presents the results of an analytical foresight study that demonstrates the possibilities of building a class of the future, intensively using the idea of cognitive-effective education, artificial intelligence technology, and modern technical means. This study analyzes the cognitive factors that negatively affect the effectiveness of learning and the possibilities of overcoming them by means of artificial intelligence and instrumental psychodiagnostics, as well as the possible impact of digitalization on cognitive learning processes. The factors are analyzed: of nonpreservation of learning knowledge in long-term memory, of non-homogenity of academic knowledge, of non-formation of the necessary information and cognitive basis of knowledge for a discipline or for further training in general, of insufficient academic attention, of lack of cognitive training, of the formation of recognition in the absence of the possibility of free actualization of knowledge, of the inefficiency of certain methods of digital education, of non-formation of knowledge explication and actualization in a dialogue, of different cognitive readiness of students in the class, of gadget-stress, of misunderstanding of reading (functional illiteracy), and others. The conclusion is made about the possibility and reality of an integrated implementation of artificial intelligence systems and of modern technical means in the educational process to reduce the negative cognitive effects of modern learning.

At the invitation of Professor Carlson, this paper responds to his questions regarding the meaning, value, and the future of (post)qualitative research, and takes up some of the issues and provocations I raised with his graduate students: reciprocity, relationality, stewardship, and an ethics of care. These conditions, or what I call feltness, are deeply embedded and entwined in my doings of research, or more specifically the practice of research-creation. This feltness shifts research to become a practice of intimacy. The paper commences with a brief introduction to research-creation which is potentially a parallel methodological intervention to (post)qualitative research, as it challenges what counts as disciplinary and academic knowledge, and inherited forms of value in the institution.
