Article use Visual LISP development tools and DCL dialog technology, which implements the standard straight teeth, a two-dimensional cylindrical gear parametric drawing on AutoCAD platform, with easy to operate and improve design efficiency. We achieved that using the dialog box design input parameters, and gear parts of the design calculations, parameters proofreading and all kinds of gear design drawing different structures by programming. The output is fully automated computer-aided design system. The results show that the design of the system significantly improves the efficiency of the part design.

Electrical design in a variety of electrical equipment needs to search, copy and modify constantly, so it is inefficient. Parametric design technology is the most common way to achieve rapid design, but less in the electrical design of the specific application. With the electrical equipment model parameterization and the reuse technology model, develop electrical equipment design software based on CAD secondary development. Use of software, design by three levels of reuse technology on the equipment for quick drawing, editing, statistics, to avoid duplication of work more efficiently, to improve design efficiency and reduce human waste.

DTH (Down-the-hole) Bits are widely used in engineering construction and mining but the design level of DTH Bits needs improving. The kinds of DTH Bits are various in the practical application. Meanwhile, design efficiency is low and management in design information of historical product is insufficient. To solve the problems, key features of the DTH Bits used in different strata are analyzed and SolidWorks secondary development system of DTH Bits is developed with VB.NET. The secondary development system runs in the same process with SolidWorks in the form of a plug-in. ADO technique is used to connect the system and database which stores design information of historical product. It proves that the secondary development system can improve design and management efficiency of DTH Bits.

Abstract In the applications of pure bending of thin cantilever plates, unlike a beam, twisting arises with the bending unless it is accomplished to pure bending. This paper emphases the theoretical study of the integration of multiple point loadings (vertical and Inclined) over the thin plate to eliminate the twisting and predict the definite bending for the linearly elastic material. The cantilever plate is further studied through numerical simulations using finite element analysis (FEA) in ANSYS. This FEA helps to finalize the type of modelling approach that predicts large deflection’s behaviour agreeing closely with theoretical solutions. Also, in the experimental procedure, various artificial intelligence (A.I.) techniques can reduce complexity; minimize the dependence on humans, and improve design efficiency. The process presented in this paper is inspired by Euler’s classical beam theory (moment-curvature relationship) and ANN, which approximates the problem and compensates the errors.

Aimed at optimizing electric radiators design process, the enterprises expectationsmanufacturing technologies and market developing status were analyzed, then electric radiators key design restraining factors were summarized, design orientation was proposed finally. Based on this premise, a block-based electric radiator design scheme was presented with the Design For Manufacture & Assembly method (DFMA), then taking electric radiators key structure and part as an example , the application of DFMA in design practice was discussed in the view of coordinating the relation of product styling effect and structure design. Practices show that DFMA method is beneficial to improve design efficiency and feasibility.

With the increasingly intense competition in the market, more attention has been paid to customer’s perceptual requirements. Combining human sensibility and technology, Kansei Engineering plays a crucial role for industrial designers in making decisions at an earlier design stage in product development. However, sometimes it is challenging to define the customer requirements during the market research phase, especially for the perceptual requirements. Given this problem, this paper develops a process for establishing perceptual indexes based on the axiomatic design approach to improve design efficiency. To achieve this, an initial perceptual index is first built based on data previously collected from designers or design agencies. Then, the theory of axiomatic design is used to classify the schemes. The final perceptual index is filtered and built according to the frequency of occurrence.

According to the state-of-the-art of design process management, a new management method is presented in this paper. Firstly, a design process is divided into three layers: harmony layer, purpose layer and action layer. Secondly, considering the operation features in every design process layer, tasks are divided into four categories, and the relevant models are proposed subsequently. Finally, the framework of a design guide management system is presented, and an example of engine design process is used to illustrate the efficiency of this method. It is approved that the design guide can accumulate design process knowledge and improve design efficiency.

A transformation technology for part model to blank model based on feature mapping of turbine blade was prompted to improve the design efficiency of investment casting mold. The definition, feature presentation and feature mapping theory were researched. The feature and the geometry structure of turbine blade’s part mold, blank model and cavity mold were analyzed, and the feature mapping technology was prompted. At last, a mold transformation system was developed based on UG. Experiment result shows that with the help of this system, designers can improve design efficiency of investment casting mold of turbine blade.
