The authors discuss recent progress in extracting road networks from digital imagery. We briefly review recent developments in methods for the automatic extraction of road centre line networks and propose a related algorithm aimed at encoding the geometry of road networks with line segments. Our algorithm is inspired by ‘axial lines’, which have been defined as lines of uninterrupted movement within urban streetscapes or buildings. We show that axial lines appear as ridges in isovist fields. These are formed from the maximum diametric lengths of the individual isovists, sometimes called viewsheds, which make up these fields. We present an image-processing technique for the identification of lines from ridges, discuss current strengths and weaknesses of the method, and show how it can be implemented easily and effectively.

The failure damage of granite under axial load are caused by the propagation and coalescent of cracks at mesoscale, so it is of important theoretical value and practical significance to to understand the mechnical properties of rock by experimental research on meso damage of granite. The microfracturing process of the pre-crack marble sample on surrounding rock in immerged Long-big tunnel in Jinping Cascade II Hydropower Station under uniaxial compression is recorded by using the testing scheme. According to stereology theory, the propagation and coalescent of cracks at meso-scale are quantitatively investigated with digital technology. Therefore, the basic geometric information of rock microcracks such as area, angle, length, width, perimeter, is obtained from binary images after segmentation. The results show that the new meso-mechanical testing scheme on rock meso-damage could be used to quantitatively analyzed from the geometric information of rock microcracks.

Image processing technique in general, involves the application of signal processing on the input image for isolating the individual color plane of an image. It plays an important role in the image analysis and computer version. This paper compares the efficiency of two approaches in the area of finding breast cancer in medical image processing. The fundamental target is to apply an image mining in the area of medical image handling utilizing grouping guideline created by genetic algorithm. The parameter using extracted border, the border pixels are considered as population strings to genetic algorithm and Ant Colony Optimization, to find out the optimum value from the border pixels. We likewise look at cost of ACO and GA also, endeavors to discover which one gives the better solution to identify an affected area in medical image based on computational time.

Within spinal column, the lumbar vertebrae are the most durable and usually left behind in severely burnt body. European studies have reported that these vertebrae are useful for age estimation. However, it is widely acknowledged that different ancestry necessitates different methods and includes a range of variables, therefore a study specific to Thai population is needed for accuracy in the identification of Thai individuals. To investigate the correlation between lumbar vertebrae, and age of the individual, L1-L5 drilled out from 75 Thai cadavers. After undergoing histological processing each slide was photographed. The images were processed using an image processing technique to calculate the percentage of trabecular bone area over total area (%TBA/TA). Using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, %TBA/TA of L1-L5 was calculated. The %TBA/TA of L1-L5 showed a negative correlation to age in both male and female groups. The %TBA/TA of L2 in the male group decreased most significantly with increase in age (r=-0.775) whereas in the female group, L3 showed the strongest negative correlation with age (r=-0.75. In the conclusion, it was found that trabecular bone of L2 showed the most significant correlation to increase in age in males whereas L3 showed the strongest correlation in females. Keywords: Age, Image segmentation, Lumbar, Thai population, Trabecular bone

: A basic wheelchair is a gadget for people influenced by moderate, extreme physical incapacities and interminable disease. It is also meant for the elderly people. Many people with disabilities cannot manage the energized wheelchair operating joystick, sound, furthermore, hand developments as it is harder for the individual to do such specific tasks also it is programming focused. This strategy comprises of equipment which reduces the person's work utilizing the image processing method. This model comprised of a camera that tracks the eyeball movement and hence the position of the pupil by the image processing technique. And thereby the wheelchair is constrained by a user’s eye gesture in an indoor space. When the development has been initiated and it is given to the Raspberry pi for processing. The procedure relies on the feed coding and an output is given into the driver circuit. Likewise, the hindrance location sensors will be associated as an Emergency Brake that gives necessary conditions for the conventional activity of the wheelchair framework. Every one of the four wheels are associated with a driving circuit that moves the wheelchair

In order to accurately and comprehensively obtain information about coal rock mesocrack images, image processing technique based on partial differential equation (PDE) is introduced in order to expound on the active contour model without edges and overcome the deficiency of the C-V model. The improved C-V model is adopted in order to process mesoimages of coal rocks containing single and multiple cracks and obtain high-quality binary images of coal rock mesocracks and the effective characteristic parameters of coal rock mesostructures through quantitative processing, which will lay solid foundations for the follow-up research into coal rock seepage computation and damage calculation. Studies have shown that, compared to the original C-V model, the improved model achieves better image segmentation effects and more accurate quantitative information about coal rock mesostructures for coal rock mesoimages with low contrast ratios and nonuniform grayscale, a fact showing that it can be applied to the calculation of coal rock permeability and damage factors.

Every individual have their unique identification like palm print, signature, finger print, face recognition, lip print etc.. here in this research one such effort is made to analyses lip print and identify the individual using their lip print. The wrinkle and grooves pattern on the lips has individual characteristics like tongue prints, face recognition, iris pattern, fingerprints. Cheiloscopy is a forensic investigation technique that deals with identification of humans based on lips traces. Image processing technique is used, lip print of the individual is captured, processed and analyzed for conclusion.

One of the advantages of scanning electron microscopy is the capability for processing the image contrast, i.e., the image processing technique. Crewe et al were the first to apply this technique to a field emission scanning microscope and show images of individual atoms. They obtained a contrast which depended exclusively on the atomic numbers of specimen elements (Zcontrast), by displaying the images treated with the intensity ratio of elastically scattered to inelastically scattered electrons. The elastic scattering electrons were extracted by a solid detector and inelastic scattering electrons by an energy analyzer. We noted, however, that there is a possibility of the same contrast being obtained only by using an annular-type solid detector consisting of multiple concentric detector elements.

In earlier times fruits were sorted manually and it was very time consuming and laborious task. Human sorted the fruits of the basis of shape, size and color. Time taken by human to sort the fruits is very large therefore to reduce the time and to increase the accuracy, an automatic classification of fruits comes into existence. To improve this human inspection and reduce time required for fruit sorting an advance technique is developed that accepts information about fruits from their images, and is called as Image Processing Technique.
