School museums – which had been founded mostly in the vicinity of educational institutions – used to collect teaching aids. So-called natural history cabinets were the most popular among them, recommended, inter alia, by the Commission of National Education in 1783. The tradition of collecting this type of exhibits was common until the middle of the 20th century. There are two types to be distinguished: school museums and pedagogical museums, which differ with respect to the character of their activity and the kind of exhibits. School museums collected basically objects of natural science, instruments for teaching geography, chemistry and mathematics as well as prints and facilities used during lessons. The second group also specialised in exhibits of natural science, but they were no longer used and usually of higher scientific value, including patterns and examples known in the education system. Among the earliest school museums created in the Kingdom of Poland were Warsaw collections of the Institute for Deaf and Blind People (1875), and those of the Eugeniusz Babiński’s so-called Realschule. At the beginning of the 20th century the idea was spreading, inspired inter alia by the exemplary activity of the Polish School Museum in Lviv (1903). The biggest number of school museums and collections were created in institutions founded by the Polish Educational Society (1906–1907). The survived resources give us relatively detailed information about the collections from Warsaw and Pabianice, which aspired to be categorised as pedagogical museums. The Secondary School for Boys of the Merchants Association in Łódź and the Pedagogical Museum in Warsaw (1917) had also in their possession some interesting collections. The latter one was based upon the collections of former governmental schools, in which – in accordance with a decree issued by Russian authorities – the scientific exhibits were to be collected.

Space is the basic geographical concept which we gradually acquire. Through an articulation of the concepts LEFT and RIGHT from spatial orientation in first grade elementary school, using different contents, methods and resources one discovers a richness of methodical forms of which each, in its own fashion, participates in the realisation of the process of teaching and upbringing. The correlation with Physical education, art classes and mathematics confirms this fact. Such a mode of elaborating the content fulfills the basic requisite of wholeness in the teaching process which results in a higher motivation of pupils and better study results.

ABSTRACTThis research had purpose to know of proper from development result of teaching material using scientific approach orientation in learning society (IPS) of Elementary School. The component validity consists of materials, presentation, languages, design, the implementation of learning, students learning outcome, and students respons.The type of this study is a research development. The development model used 4-D model (Four-D Model). The procedure is starting by defining development, design, and development. The subjects of this study are the students of S1 PGSD STKIP Modern Ngawi. 10 students (at the firts experiments ) and 32 students ( at second Experiments). Collecting data using observation, test, and questionnaires. The result of the study development result of teaching material using scientific approach orientation in learning society (IPS) of Elementary School are scoring  from (1) the validity of the feasibility of component material, linguistic, and the presentation, also the validation from the expert’s lectur so, the module of lesson are on decent category. (2)the teaching materials from SAP implemented excellent so it can support to increased learning activities. (3) The students give positive response and the average of cognitive achievement increases. The cognitive invidual students and classical result increase it’s mean that it’s accordance with the guidelines STKIP ratings Modern Ngawi. Based on the research of result we concluded that development of teaching material using scientific approach orientation in society learning (IPS) of Elementary School were proper, practical, and effective to improve the students learning outcome in College. Keywords: Teaching Material, Scientific Approach, Society Learning (IPS). ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan hasil pengembangan Bahan Ajar Berorientasi Pendekatan Saintifik dari validitas komponen materi, penyajian, kebahasaan, kegrafikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar serta respon mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D (Four-D Model). Prosedur pengembangan dilakukan sampai tahap pendefinisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa S1 PGSD STKIP Modern Ngawi sebanyak 10 mahasiswa (ujicoba 1) dan 32 mahasiswa (ujicoba 2). Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa data kualitas Bahan  Ajar Berorientasi Pendekatan Saintifik pada Mata Kuliah Pembelajaran IPS yang dikembangkan dinilai dari (1) validitas kelayakan komponen materi, kebahasaan, penyajian serta kegrafikan dari hasil validasi yang dilakukan dosen ahli dengan kategori sangat layak. (2)  bahan ajar dari keterlaksanaan SAP yang dilaksanakan dosen sangat baik yang mendukung peningkatan kegiatan pembelajaran. (3) respon mahasiswa ditanggapi dengan positif dan rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif meningkat. Ketuntasan hasil belajar mahasiswa secara individu maupun klasikal dapat tuntas sesuai dengan pedoman penilaian STKIP Modern Ngawi.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pengembangan Bahan Ajar Berorientasi Pendekatan Saintifik pada Mata Kuliah Pembelajaran IPS SD layak untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Kata Kunci : Buku Ajar, Pembelajaran Saintifik , Pembelajaran IPS SD.

Education never get out of adequate facilities and infrastructure. These can support education. One of them is the using of teaching material. The limiting of it makes students have one handbook only and learn by using it, so they don’t practice enough on working other math problems. With these problems, researcher is encouraged to develop mathematical module cube and block with a scientific approach for 5th grade elementary school. Type of this research is research and development (R&D) with aim to know that development of mathematical cubes and block module with scientific approach for 5th grade is feasible or not. Data collection techniques used interview, observation, documentation, and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results of the development of mathematical cubes and blocks modules with the scientific approach are said to be very feasible with a percentage of 84 from material expert, 81,34 from module expert, 83 from 5th grade teacher and 95,10 from 5th grade students.
