Abstract This article describes the implementation of an electro-pneumatic test bench, which allows the availability of a physical environment to promote learning. The aim of the paper is to create a tool that enables practical training and research of pneumatic processes for university students in the field of engineering. The control and automation system of the test bench is made up of wired logic panels, timers, and programmable logic controllers, which are integrated into a control board configured at 24 V (direct current) to guarantee safety. Additionally, ergonomic principles were considered for the construction of the electro-pneumatic bench, thus favoring the accessibility and safety of the users. Based on national and international regulations, working pressure of 9 bar and an approximate pressure drop of 0.07 bar were defined. The construction of the test bench is considered an educational strategy to facilitate and accelerate the learning process of the students. Additionally, the development of the electro-pneumatic bench allowed the dynamic characterization of double-acting actuators by integrating experimental data and numerical models. This allowed the detailed analysis of the displacement, velocity, and acceleration variables in this type of actuator, which contributes to the physical study of pneumatic systems.

<p>In the Czech Republic, clinical legal education is not very developed. It does not fit into the traditional view of legal education, which itself is based mainly on an Austrian and German legal tradition which emphasizes legal positivism, legal history and a lecture style of lessons. The university environment in the Czech Republic is very conservative. Open minded teachers (mostly young assistants) have very little space for their own creativity during the lessons. Most of the Czech law teachers do not have any training in teaching methodology. Moreover the general attitude is that there is no special need for practical courses because “the students will receive their practical training once they are in practice after finishing the law school”. These attitudes result in very sceptical approach to the methodology of teaching, if we can speak about any methodology at all. To put it simply, the content of the lecture is seen as more important than the way the content is taught.</p>

Abstract The study is of empirical character. It presents a story of a kindergarten which is a private, a company and a university kindergarten. The establishing authority is a university that can preferentially accept children of its employees. The parents of the children financially contribute to running the kindergarten.The research was based on the strategy of a one-case study. This integrated quantitative and qualitative research approach. Data from two types of questionnaires were used in the study presenting interviews with parents, teachers, students in teacher training and members of the school board, as well as data from observations of the educational process and from the analyses of the available school documentation. The aim was to describe the kindergarten and the contexts in which it operates, explain its operation and clarify the mechanics, circumstances and subjects it is most influenced by. Three basic factors influencing the school’s operation and fulfilling its function emerged from the collected data: the relations with the establishing authority, the community of university-educated parents and the status of a faculty school providing space for practical training of the students in teacher training. The major conclusion that emerged from the study is: The kindergarten works in specific conditions with strong contextual conditioning linked to the university environment and the authority’s conditions.

Research is considered a function aimed at obtaining new knowledge and its application for the solution to problems or questions of a scientific nature, The universities framed in the fulfillment of their social function have a complex task given by training a competent professional who assumes research as part of their training and who learns to ask questions that they are able to solve through scientific research.  Scientific research is an indicator of the quality of processes in the university environment, so it must be increased by virtue of the results of the work carried out by research teachers and students the objective of this work is to know the perception of the teachers of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Guayaquil about the scientific activity. Objective: to know the perception of the teachers of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Guayaquil about the scientific activity. Methods: theoretical and empirical level were used, a questionnaire with closed questions aimed at knowing the opinions on the research activity in this institution was applied. Result: that of the sample analyzed 309 (39.3%) said they agreed with the training for the writing of scientific articles. 38.6% said they agree with the training on research projects. Conclusion: that teacher’s research should be enhanced to ensure the formation and development of research skills in students.

In recent years there has been increased discussion of the subjective, emotional and sociological factors influencing student choice of university. However, there is a dearth of information exploring what constitutes these feelings. This exploratory paper uses the conceptual model of the servicescape to provide insight into the emotional factors driving student choice. In-depth interviews with prospective students revealed that first impressions really do count. Students are deterred by poor physical environments and excited by enthusiastic staff and students. Most significantly, the study revealed the necessity of a restorative servicescape to provide both a sense of escape and feeling of belonging. This paper contributes to broadening the application of the servicescape model and to a greater understanding of the impact of the environment on prospective students, and creates an opportunity to inform policy by providing university marketing decision makers with a better understanding of what constitutes the university environment and what makes it appealing to prospective students.

The paper presents a new experimental device made to analyze the thermoelastohydrodynamic (TEHD) behavior of connecting-rod bearings functioning in severe conditions. First, it focuses on the test bench description. The general principle of the test bench and then the main original technological solutions used with respect to the functional specifications are detailed. Two numerical models are described. They were developed in order to design and to validate two central components of the experimental device. Finally, the paper comments on the test results used to understand and validate the traction∕compression loading system, which is one of the key points in the test bench behavior.
