Abstract For the development of systems for predicting the state of forests and trees, adequate models of the influence of temperature and humidity environment fluctuations on the kinetics of the wood microstructure are needed. Formalized modeling should be based on monitoring data obtained with controlled accuracy in real time. The aim of the work was to substantiate the layout of a device for measuring the potential difference in tree trunks to study their state. For the first time in the article, the recorder layout with the operating principle based on the phenomenon of thermally stimulated polarization of wood has substantiated. In addition, a formalized model has presented for processing the monitoring data of the studied potential difference in the framework of classical thermodynamics, which makes it possible to determine the parameters of the kinetics of the microstructure of wood in tree trunks at fluctuations of external factors. As a result of the research carried out, a model of a digital device for assessing the state of wood of tree trunks was developed. The proposed device for recording the response of the trunk wood on the fluctuations of external factors practically does not violate the unique microstructure of the biocomposite and has a controlled accuracy in real time.

Purpose This study aims to present a design and investigation of novel vanillin-based thiol-ene photocurable systems as candidate materials for optical three-dimensional printing. Design/methodology/approach Two vanillin acrylates, vanillin dimethacrylate and vanillin diacrylate, were tested in thiol-ene photocurable systems with 1,3-benzenedithiol. The kinetics of photocross-linking was investigated by real-time photorheometry using two photoinitiators, diphenyl (2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine oxide or ethyl (2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phenylphosphinate in different quantities. The dependencies of rheological properties of resins on the used vanillin derivative, photoinitiator, and the presence of a solvent, as well as structure, thermal and mechanical properties of the selected polymers were investigated. Findings The most rigid polymers were obtained from vanillin diacrylate-based resins without any solvent. The vanillin diacrylate-based polymer possessed higher values of cross-linking density, the yield of insoluble fraction, thermal stability and better mechanical properties in comparison to the vanillin dimethacrylate-based polymer. Originality/value The kinetics of photocross-linking of vanillin-based thiol-ene systems was investigated by real-time photorheometry for the first time. The designed novel photocurable systems based on vanillin acrylates and 1,3-benzenedithiol are promising renewable photoresins for optical three-dimensional printing on demand.

For Slovenes in the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes the year 1919 represented the final step to a new political beginning. With the end of the united all-Slovene liberal party organisation and the formation of separate liberal parties, the political party life faced a new era. Similar development was showing also in the Marxist camp. The Catholic camp was united. For the first time, Slovenes from all political camps took part in the state government politics and parliament work. They faced the diminishing of the independence, which was gained in the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, and the mutual fight for its preservation or abolition. This was the beginning of national-political separations in the later Yugoslav state. The year 1919 was characterized also by the establishment of the Slovene university and early occurrences of social discontent. A declaration about the new historical phenomenon – Bolshevism, had to be made. While the region of Prekmurje was integrated to the new state, the questions of the Western border and the situation with Carinthia were not resolved. For the Slovene history, the year 1919 presents a multi-transitional year.

Beginning in the early 1970s, Jewish and Muslim feminists, tackled “oral law”—Mishna and Talmud, in Judaism, and the parallel Hadith and Fiqh in Islam, and several analogous methodologies were devised. A parallel case study of maintenance and rebellion of wives —mezonoteha, moredet al ba?ala; nafaqa al-mar?a and nush?z—in classical Jewish and Islamic oral law demonstrates similarities in content and discourse. Differences between the two, however, were found in the application of oral law to daily life, as reflected in “responsa”—piskei halacha and fatwas. In modern times, as the state became more involved in regulating maintenance and disobedience, and Jewish law was backed for the first time in history by a state, state policy and implementation were influenced by the political system and socioeconomic circumstances of the country. Despite their similar origin in oral law, maintenance and rebellion have divergent relevance to modern Jews and Muslims.

Understanding the dynamic self-assembly behaviour of azobenzene photosurfactants (AzoPS) is crucial to advance their use in controlled release applications such as<i></i>drug delivery and micellar catalysis. Currently, their behaviour in the equilibrium <i>cis-</i>and <i>trans</i>-photostationary states is more widely understood than during the photoisomerisation process itself. Here, we investigate the time-dependent self-assembly of the different photoisomers of a model neutral AzoPS, <a>tetraethylene glycol mono(4′,4-octyloxy,octyl-azobenzene) </a>(C8AzoOC8E4) using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). We show that the incorporation of <i>in-situ</i>UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy with SANS allows the scattering profile, and hence micelle shape, to be correlated with the extent of photoisomerisation in real-time. It was observed that C8AzoOC8E4could switch between wormlike micelles (<i>trans</i>native state) and fractal aggregates (under UV light), with changes in the self-assembled structure arising concurrently with changes in the absorption spectrum. Wormlike micelles could be recovered within 60 seconds of blue light illumination. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the degree of AzoPS photoisomerisation has been tracked <i>in</i><i>-situ</i>through combined UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy-SANS measurements. This technique could be widely used to gain mechanistic and kinetic insights into light-dependent processes that are reliant on self-assembly.

Through a combination of thermogravimetry, mass spectrometry and differential thermal analysis, we demonstrate for the first time that all four zeolites show experimental differences in their host-guest interactions with 18C6. In addition, we have estimated the kinetics of 18C6 decomposition, which is a technique that has not been applied to zeolites previously. Using these findings as a toolkit, a more rational use of OSDAs can be utilised to prepare designer zeolites. Furthermore, the new methodologies presented herein can be applied to current zeolites, such as MFI-type zeolites used in the petrochemical industry.

The article is devoted to the analysis of interethnic relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the 1940s and 1960s. The article is based on materials from the archives of BiH, Croatia, Slovenia, Yugoslavia. The documents show the state of affairs in the Republic – both in the economy and in ideology. In one or another way, all of them reflect the level of tension in the interethnic relations. For the first time, the article presents the discussion on interethnic relations, on the new phenomenon in multinational Yugoslavia – the emergence of a new people in BiH under the name of “Muslim”. The term “Muslims” is used to define the ethnic identity of Bosniaks in the territory of BiH starting from the 1961 census.

The entry of a wide range of biotechnological products into the pharmaceutical market calls for rein-forcement of the quality, efficacy and safety standards at the state level. The following general monographs have been elaborated for the first time to be included into the State Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation, XIV edition: "Viral safety" and "Reduction of the risk of transmitting animal spongiform encephalopathy via medicinal products". These general monographs were elaborated taking into account the requirements of foreign pharmacopoeias and the WHO recommendations. The present paper summarises the key aspects of the monographs.
