Abstract An experiment was conducted throughout winter 2020-2021 in the experimental field of the Department of Field Crops, Tikrit University to investigate the effect of spraying cytokinin on the growth and yield of wheat bread Triticum aestivum L varieties. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used with a split-plot system and three replications. Cytokinin concentrations were 0, 100, 200 that were sprayed on two dates; during the branching stage (ZGS: 22); during the al-Battan stage (ZGS:40). Ten varieties were used included Al-Rasheed, Ibaa 99, Sham 6, Baghdad, Bohouth 22, Adana 99, Bora Italian, Sulaymaniyah 2, Al Fayyad and Al Wafiya. Nnumber of days from planting to 50% of spikes, leaf area of the flag, grain yield and biological, and protein percentage and wet gluten percentage were measured. The ten-wheat cultivars showed a significant difference in growth, yield, and quality. The Fayyad was the earliest than the other cultivars by the number of days from emergence to 50% spikes, 104.33 days, and the highest of the number of spikes per area unit, 569.22 spikes. m-2. Rashid cultivar showed the highest average of flag leaf area, 67.22 cm2, and the highest average number of grains per spike,100.88 grains. Also, it gave the highest average of grain yield, 496.77 g. m-2. Sulaymaniyah 2 cultivar was the highest in the weight of 1000 grains, 51.38 g. Spraying 200 ml. L-1 cytokinin indicated a significant difference for the most of traits such as flag leaf area, 53.56 cm2, the number of grains in the 78.80 grains, biological yield 452.46 g. m-1, protein percentage, 15.02%.

An experiment was conducted in the field laboratory of the Department of Crop Botany, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, to investigate the effect of foliar application of Miyodo on morphology, yield contributing characters and yield of T. aman rice cv. BR-11. The concentrations of Miyodo used were 2 mgL-1, 3 mgL-1, 4 mgL-1 and 5mgL-1 with a control. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Application of Miyodo by spraying at 45 days after transplanting significantly enhanced plant height, number of tillers and effective tillers, number of leaves and leaf area, size of flag leaf, total dry matter, panicle length, number of total grains and filled grains, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, straw yield, and harvest index. The result showed that the application of 5 mgL-1 Miyodo produced the highest grain yield of BR-11 compared to other concentrations as well as control. However, further study is needed to determine the higher concentration limit of Miyodo in maximizing the growth and yield of T. aman rice cv. A field experiment was conducted during  autumn season 2018 at Al Salam district, Maysan governorate. The aim was to evaluate some growth properties and grain yield of  three varieties of cowpea, Vigna sinensis L. (Local, Patton Boa and Atta E) grown under different levels of potassium sulphate  (0, 43, 86 and 129 kg h-1). The  experimental  design was applied according to the random complete block design in a split arrangement (Split Plots in RCBD). In on hand, the results showed a significant differences between the varieties. The local variety significantly gave highest plant length , leaf area, pods number, seeds number pod-1 and grain yield and which were 60.75cm, 2936.81cm2, 39.60 pod. plant-1, 7.69 seed pod-1, 99.93 g and 4.16 t. h-1 respectively. While the varieties Baton Boa gave highest weight of 100 seeds and gave 37.58 g. In other hand, as compare to the control, the addition of potassium up to 129 kg. h-1 lead to significant increase in plant length, leaf area, pods plant-1, seeds number pod-1 and grain yield plant-1 and total grain yield which were 53.33 cm, 3455.91 cm2, 51.61 pod. plant-1, 8.76 seed. pod-1, 125.93 g. and 5.25 T.h-1 respectively. Whereas, the control treatment (K0) gave the highest weight of 100 seeds (45.11 g). The Interaction between varieties and potassium  had a significant effect on almost  growth and yield characteristics.

Abstract A field experiment was carried out at winter season of 2020-2021 in Babylon Governorate, region of Bernon, at 8 km north-east of Hilla town between 44.27 ° north and 36.32 ° east latitude, to study the effect of planting distance and Humic acid on growth, yield and antioxidant activity of petals and seeds of the safflower, the treatments were distributed in a factorial experiment with randomized completely block design (RCBD) with three replicates, the first factor was the distance between plants (10, 15 and 20 cm) and second was spraying Humic acid at concentrations (0, 125, 250 and 500 mg.l-1), data were collected and means were tested according to least significant difference test (LSD) at probability level 0.05. The results showed superiority significant of planting distance at 20 cm and spraying humic acid at concentration 500 mg.L-1 on growth and yield parameters, while plants distance at 10 cm excelled on plant height and content of petals and seeds of antioxidant activities. The results showed superiority significant at interaction treat 20 cm × 500 mg.L-1, it produced the highest rates in most considered qualities and yield of dry petals and seed yields were 79.658 and 2197.5 kg. ha-1, while interference treat 10 cm x 500 mg.L-1 produced the highest means on total phenolic compounds and total oxidative activity and scavenging free radicals reached 41.47, 212.7, 58.07, 38.72 and 33.59 mg.g-1 DW, 67.7 and 47.0% in petals and seeds respectively.

AbstractA field experiment was carried out to study the effect of spacing and nitrogen level on growth and yield of maize in Parbat from February to July, 2019. The experiment was laid out in two Factorial Randomized complete Block Design (RCBD) comprising of spacing: 60×15 cm and 60×25 cm and nitrogen: 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg/ha level as treatment with three replications. “Arun-2” variety of maize was planted on clay loam and acidic soil (pH 5.3) having medium in total nitrogen (0.15%), medium in soil available phosphorus (48.1 kg/ha), medium in soil available potassium (218.8 kg/ha) and medium in organic matter content (2.92%). Result shows that yield was significantly increased with increment in N-level up to 90 kg N/ha. The grain yield (5.18 mt/ha) was significantly higher at 90 kg N/ha than at 30 and 60 kg N/ha but at par with 120 kg N/ha. Significant effect on grain yield due to spacing was observed. The grain yield (4.11 mt/ha) obtained at spacing 60×15 cm. Moreover, the highest grain yield showed that highest grain yield (4.33 mt/ha) was obtained under 90 kg N/ha plus 60×15 cm spacing. The result revealed that different spacing and nitrogen level significantly affect the plant height and leaf area index. The plant height and leaf area index were significantly high at close spacing (60×15 cm) and at 120 kg N/ha. Likewise, yield attributing characteristics like cob length, cob diameter, number of kernel/rows, number of kernel row, thousand gran weight were the highest at 90 kg/ha but as par with 120 kg/ha at close spacing (60×15 cm). This study suggested that maize production can be maximized by cultivating “Arun-2” maize fertilizing with 90 kg N/ha and maintaining 60×15 cm spacing.

Because of using sulphur free fertilizer, rice crop facing tremendous sulphur (S) deficiency throughout the world as well as in Bangladesh. However, farmers of Bangladesh often overlook the importance of sulphur fertilization on rice yield. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the influence of different levels of sulphur on growth, yield attributes and uptake of N, P, K and S by grain and straw of BRRI dhan41 rice variety. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replication and eight treatments including control. The result of the study revealed that the highest plant height, panicle length, filled grain was found in T1 (50% RFD of S) treatment, while the utmost number of effective tiller and straw yield was recorded in T5 (150% RFD of S) treatment. Interestingly, maximum grain yield as well as uptake of N, P, K and S by grain and straw was significantly higher in T6 (175% RFD of S) treatment. The highest grain yield of T6 treatment might be due to maximum nutrient use efficiency. However, in all cases control treatment (T0) gave the worst result. The present study clearly indicates that higher rates (175% of the recommended dose) of S along with other fertilizers may be recommended for better growth and yield of BRRI dhan41 in Bangladesh soil.

"A field experiment was conducted during the autumn season 2018 at Al- Zinawiya site 10 km south-east of center Al- Nasiriya Governorate, to determine the effect of four levels of Nitrogen fertilizer (0.120,180 and 240 kg N ha-1 ) and four levels of Potassium fertilizer (0,80,120 and 160 kg K ha-1 ) and The interaction between them, on growth and yield of corn (Zea mays L.) Fajer-1 variety. Factorial experiment according to Randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) was used in this study with three replicates The results showed the level 240 kg N ha-1 achieved significant superiority in the Days to Tasselling, Days to silking, Plant height, Leaf area, number of grains per ear, weight 500 grain, grain yield, the concentration of nitrogen and potassium in leaves (54.09 Days, 57.58 Days, 166.17cm, 399.29cm2 , 404.83per ear-1 , 158.20gm, 6.702t h-1 , 1.46Mg gm-1 , 1.28Mg gm-1 respectively). The level of 160 kg K-1 was significant superior among other levels by giving the best results of studied characters, (Days to Tasselling, Days to silking, Plant height, Leaf area, number of grains per ear, grain yield and the concentration of nitrogen in the leaves.) (54.09 Days, 57.58days, 138.42cm, 338.05 cm2 , 338.58 per ear, 5.250 t h-1 , 1.44Mg gm-1 respectively). The interaction for the treatment (240 kg N h-1 + 160 kg K h-1 ) was superior grain number of per ear (430.00), weight 500 grain (160.40 gm), and grain yield (7.060 t h-1)"

Abstract A field study was carried out during the spring season of 2017 in the fields of a farmer in the district of Habbaniyah, which is 70 km west of Baghdad, to study the effect of three planting dates (15 March, 1 April and 15 April) on the growth, yield and quality of three cultivars of sorghum (Babel, Warka and Rabeh). The implementation of the experiment was according to a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with split-plot arrangement with three replications. The results of the experiment indicated that the cultivar Rabeh was superior in most of the studied traits such as leaf area (3968 cm2), number of grains per head (2659.00 grains head-1), weight of grains per head (63.41 g) and grain yield (7.44 ton ha-1), while the Babel variety was superior in the percentage of protein (12.21%). As for planting dates, the date of April 1 was superior in most of the studied traits, such as leaf area (3635.33 cm2), number of grains per head (2670.33 grains head-1), weight of grains per head (62.12 g), grain yield (7.55 ton ha-1) and the percentage of protein (11.49%).

Abstract A field experiment was conducted at the first station of the College of Agriculture/University of Al-Muthanna for the agricultural season 2020-2021, with the aim of studying the effect of treatment with salinity stress and kinetin on the growth and yield of the wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar of Bohooth 22. The experiment was applied by split plates design using a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with three Replicators of 36 experimental units The main units included levels of irrigation water salinity (2.5, 5, 7.5, 10) ds/m, while the secondary units included levels of kinetin (0, 30, 60 Ppm). The results of the statistical analysis showed a significant difference in the salinity of the high irrigation water in most growth traits such as plant height, flag leaf area, number of tillers plant−1, spike length (cm) and number of days to physiological maturity (day) at a rate of (.5473, 14.912, 3.222, 9.176, 143.67) respectively, and the traits of the yield and its components represented by the number of spikes. m2, number of grains per spike, weight of 1000 grains (gm), grain yield (ton ha−1) and biological yield (ton ha−1) at a rate of (300.06, 35.39, 31.60, 3.52, 9.46) respectively, while soaking the seeds with kinetin led to a significant increase in most of the studied traits. Thus, we conclude that salt stress has a negative role on the growth stages of the vegetative plant, and this leads to the reduction of the yield and its components.

   A Filed experiment was carried out at the center of the guiding and training agriculture AL-Mahnawia – Babylon during spring season 2015 and autumn season at the same year  growing  six lines (OH40،ZP707،ZP670،IK8،R153 and Dk(to study and evaluation these lines and its hybrids at autumn season 2015 for traits : leaf area ,number of ears ,number of grain .ears-1 , grain yield ,total grain yield, by plating  at (20,25,30)cm .by using RCBD design for three replicates.     The results showed that significant difference among the genotypes, plant density and the interaction among them. The fifth inbred was superior for all study traits leaf area, number of ears, number of grains.ear-1 , grain yield, total grain yield it gives  3466 cm2, 1.10 ear.plant-1. 393.36 grans .ear-1 ,125.45 . gr, plant -1 ,10.6ton.ha-1 at 25 cm it was superior on all the study inbreds by giving a high value of these traits .on another hand the hybrid (R153× IK8 )gave a high range of all study traits 5439 cm2,1.25 aer.plant-1.635.30 gr. Plant-1 10.6 ton. ha-1. The line R153 and the hybrid( R153× IK8 (gave the best interaction.

Abstract A field experiment was carried out in one of the plastic houses belonging to the College of Agriculture, Al-Qasim green University to Studying the possibility of cultivating cucumis melo var. flexuosus inside greenhouses to improve growth and yield using microelements and ethephon. Microelements (Zn + B) at a concentration of 250 mg/L -1 and the growth regulator Elathyphon at a concentration of (2.5, 1.5, 0) ml/L -1 were used as a spray on the shoots. A factorial experiment was applied with the split plot system and randomized complete block design (RCBD) according to the least significant difference (L.S.D) test under the significance level of 0.05. The results were as follows: The interaction between (Zn + B) had a positive and significant effect on indicators such as leaf area 206.88 dm-1, number of female flowers 22.33flower-1, and the total yield 4327 kg, the percentage of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium in the leaves was 0.6733, 2.691, 2.927, and the percentage of zinc and boron in the leaves was 19.626,14.282.The yield of one plant and the weight of the fruit 2575.5 g, 121.44 g, respectively. As for the interaction between Zn + B + 1.5, a significant effect on leaf area trait 239.91 Number of female flowers 26.33 flower-1, Total yield 5494 kg The percentage of PK in leaves 0.7233,3.080 and the percentage of boron in leaves 14.560 while the yield of one plant 3270.4 g
