Abstract The Kebon Kongok Regional Landfill (TPA) is one of the final processing sites serving West Lombok Regency and Mataram City. The Landfill is managed by the Regional Technical Implementing Unit (UPTD) of the Regional Waste Landfill of NTB Province under the Department of Environment and Forestry of NTB Province. Currently, waste services in Mataram City and West Lombok Regency have not met the sanitation target. One of the factors that affects it is the financial problem where there is no budget flexibility which often causes difficulties in handling operations, especially at the beginning and end of the year. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the institutional development strategy as an effort to increase the role of UPTD in solid waste services. The analytical method used is Force Field Analysis (FFA). Based on the FFA, it is found that the Total Weight Value (TNB) driving forces are more significant than the restraining forces; this means that UPTD of Regional Waste Landfill of NTB Province is encouraged to carry out institutional development. Therefore, the institutional development strategy is that UPTD applies for the Financial Management Pattern of Public Service Agencies (PPK-BLUD).

The paper compares the institutional development of skills formation in Lithuania and Ukraine by focusing on the implications of the post-communist transition and Europeanization and exploring the role of policy transfer. The research follows the theoretical approach of historical institutionalism and skills formation ecosystems. Despite similar critical junctures typical for the institutional development of skills formation in Lithuania and Ukraine within this timeframe, the existing differences of these development pathways can be explained by the different policy choices and different impacts of the institutional legacy. The main implication of integration with the EU for skills formation in Lithuania and Ukraine is related with enabling holistic and strategic institutional development of skills formation institutions. The paper concludes that policy transfer was one of the key driving forces and capacity-building sources in the development of skills formation institutions in both countries.

Economy of the so-called «resource» regions of Russia is characterized by the predominant role of a relatively small number of large enterprises with low added value. At the same time, the modern institutional environment for entrepreneurs in Russia is clearly unfriendly and costly. Sustainable growth of regional or national economy, if measured quantitatively, cannot be achieved without the institutional changes of innovative character. Innovative economic growth in a resource region, such as the Krasnoyarsk region, should be based on the methodology of institutional design with the help of institutional development strategy. It is possible to create an institutional environment that will not aggravate the contradictions between the interests of its subjects but will balance these interests. The contradictions between formal and informal norms should be neutralized by increasing the efficiency of enforcement mechanisms; positive institutional change should be accelerated by developing minimal-consumption goods, stimulating producers to innovative activity by maintaining competitive opportunities, encouraging regulative organs to ensure effective production supervision.

This article articulates the growing shortage of nursing faculty and identifies factors that impact nurses’ decisions to pursue graduate studies in nursing education. Kurt Lewin’s Force Field Analysis and a Decision Matrix are applied to the process of pursuing graduate studies in nursing education. When driving forces outweigh restraining forces, nurses are more likely to pursue graduate studies in nursing education. Innovative solutions to strengthen driving forces and overcome restraining forces include: offering more programs with a focus in nursing education; financial support; flexible program delivery options, including more online graduate programs; mentoring; and collaborations between employers and academic institutions. The implications of this analysis for nurses, academic nurse leaders and nursing faculty, nurse employers, and governing bodies are presented.

The research was conducted at BUM Desa Labruk Lor according to recommendations from the Lumajang Regency Government of East Java Province. The business units managed by BUM Desa Labruk Lor are fisheries, trade, agriculture, and culinary tourism businesses. Data were analyzed using the FFA (Force Field Analysis) approach by considering the driving factors for the development of BUM Desa (D) and the factors inhibiting the development of BUM Desa (H). The results show that the driving factor (key) is having formal legality (Village Regulations and AD/ART) and the formation of management is carried out democratically, while the inhibiting factor (key) is that business activities are still limited to the provision of production facilities and marketing services for fish-based processed products of catfish. The conclusion of this research is that the value of the strength field is smaller than the field of weakness, so it requires certain efforts to develop BUM Desa Labruk Lor. The recommendation for the BUM Desa development strategy is by expanding the network of cooperation with suppliers of fishery production facilities and the use of information technology as a medium for processed marketing.

Abstract Scientific findings have indicated that psychological and social factors are the driving forces behind most chronic benign pain presentations, especially in a claim context, and are relevant to at least three of the AMA Guides publications: AMA Guides to Evaluation of Disease and Injury Causation, AMA Guides to Work Ability and Return to Work, and AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. The author reviews and summarizes studies that have identified the dominant role of financial, psychological, and other non–general medicine factors in patients who report low back pain. For example, one meta-analysis found that compensation results in an increase in pain perception and a reduction in the ability to benefit from medical and psychological treatment. Other studies have found a correlation between the level of compensation and health outcomes (greater compensation is associated with worse outcomes), and legal systems that discourage compensation for pain produce better health outcomes. One study found that, among persons with carpal tunnel syndrome, claimants had worse outcomes than nonclaimants despite receiving more treatment; another examined the problematic relationship between complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and compensation and found that cases of CRPS are dominated by legal claims, a disparity that highlights the dominant role of compensation. Workers’ compensation claimants are almost never evaluated for personality disorders or mental illness. The article concludes with recommendations that evaluators can consider in individual cases.

The article focuses on the analysis of the process of convergence of outsider and insider models of corporate governance. Chief characteristics of basic and intermediate systems of corporate governance as well as the changing role of its main agents are under examination. Globalization of financial and commodity markets, convergence of legal systems, an open exchange of ideas and information are the driving forces of the convergence of basic systems of corporate governance. However the convergence does not imply the unification of institutional environment and national institutions of corporate governance.
