Maximum disorientation angles between crystals of any point groups and their corresponding rotation axes

The symmetry-reduced misorientation,i.e.disorientation, between two crystals is represented in the angle–axis format, and the maximum disorientation angle between any two lattices of the 32 point groups is obtained by constructing the fundamental zone of the associated misorientation space (i.e.Rodrigues–Frank space) using quaternion algebra. A computer program based on vertex enumeration was designed to automatically calculate the vertices of these fundamental zones and to seek the maximum disorientation angles and respective rotation axes. Of the C_{32}^2 = 528 possible combinations of any two crystals, 129 pairs give rise to incompletely bounded fundamental zones (i.e.zones having at least one unbounded direction inR3); these correspond to a maximum disorientation angle of 180° (the trivial value). The other 399 pairs produce fully bounded fundamental zones that lead to nine different nontrivial maximum disorientation angles; these are 56.60, 61.86, 62.80, 90, 90.98, 93.84, 98.42, 104.48 and 120°. The associated rotation axes were obtained and are plotted in stereographic projection. These angles and axes are solely determined by the symmetries of the point groups under consideration, and the only input data needed are the symmetry operators of the lattices.

TABLES is a computer program developed to display the crystal symmetry and the spatial location of the different symmetry operators for a given space group using interactive computer graphics. It allows the three-dimensional interactive display of the space-group information contained in International Tables for Crystallography [(1983), Vol. A. Dordrecht: Reidel]. Such a program is useful as a teaching aid in crystallography and is valuable for exploring molecular packing arrangements.

This paper presents a detailed explanation of a technique for automatically generating a mathematical model for machinery systems. The process starts from a relatively small amount of input data and develops the information required to model a mechanical system with Lagrange’s equation. The technique uses elements of graph theory which were developed for electrical networks. The basic identifications required for mechanical systems are: paths from ground to mass centers, the independent loops of parts, if any, and paths associated with applied force effects. The techniques described in this paper have been used successfully in a generalized computer program, DAMN.


An analysis of compound rotations, such as occur in eulerian cradles, is presented in terms of a calculus of rotation axes, without reference to the associated coordinate transformations. The general case of three rotation shafts mounted on one another, with any relation between them at datum zero, is presented. The problem and its solution may be represented entirely in terms of a plane octagon in which four sides have directions that are instrumental constants and the other four sides have lengths that are instrumental constants. When the first four sides are given lengths that express both the rotation angle and the axial direction of the required rotation, then the remaining four sides have directions that directly express the rotations in the drive shafts, that will generate the required rotation. Analytic expressions are given for the shaft setting angles in the general case. If the first and third axes are parallel and the intermediate one perpendicular to these at datum zero (as in the four-circle diffractometer) then these reduce to θ 1 = arctan ( μ, σ ) + [arctan ( λ , v ) - ψ -½8π], θ 2 = 2 s arcsin ( λ 2 + v 2 )½, θ 3 = ( μ, σ ) - [arctan ( λ , v ) - ψ - ½8π], s = ± 1, 0 ≤ arcsin ( λ 2 + v 2)½ ≤ ½π, in which λ, μ, v and σ are the four components of a rotation vector constructed such that λ, μ and v are the direction cosines of the rotation axis multiplied by sin½ θ for a rotation angle θ and σ is cos½ θ . ψ is a constant determined by the choice of directions to which λ and v are measured. The results for the general case are also expressed in terms of more conventional variables.

It is precisely in the course of adjusting the activities of these subjects, the main task of state regulation of the bankruptcy institute is the formation of such conditions for the functioning of the national economy, which will reduce the risk of doing business for all its entities and promote the internal reorganization of its structure in accordance with the requirements of global transformations. The system of indicators describing the situation in a certain area of ​​the functioning of national economic entities allows us to determine, directly or indirectly, the effectiveness of the bankruptcy institute at the macro-level. To analyze the impact of each of the factors on GDP, a sensitivity analysis was conducted according to which input data X were recorded at the values ​​of 2018 and alternately changed by 10%. For each such change, GDP was calculated as compared to the model value for 2018. As a result of the calculations, the most sensitive factors were identified and features of the functioning of the bankruptcy institute in the Ukrainian economy were identified. The main provisions of a state policy aimed at increasing the functional effectiveness of the bankruptcy institute are formulated. First of all, it is necessary to promote the country's position in the Doing business rankings, as well as the Indexes of Economic Freedom and Corruption Perceptions. On the other hand, an annual growth of the inflation index of around 10% and the level of the fiscal tax burden will also have a positive effect on GDP dynamics.

Key words: copyright, work, artificial intelligence, computer program In the article, the problemsof legislation of Ukraine regarding the issues of copyright on works created due to artificialintelligence were analyzed. Particularly, who is the owner of copyright ofworks created due to artificial intelligence. On the one hand, it could be a developer ofa computer program, from the other hand, it could be a client or an employer. Because,it could happen that there is a situation when robots created something newand original, e.g., how it happened with the project “New Rembrandt”. In this case,computers created a unique portrait of Rembrandt. And here is a question, where isin this portrait original and intellectual works of developers of these computers andprograms. In the contrast, this portrait could be created without people who developedspecial machines, programs, and computers. The article’s author proposes to addinto Ukrainian legislation with following norm: the owner of the copyright createddue to artificial intelligence should be a natural person who uses artificial intelligencefor these purposes within the official relationship or on the basis of a contract. In caseof automatic generation of such work by artificial intelligence, the owner of copyrightshould be the developer.Also, another question arises, particularly, who will be responsible for the damagecaused by the artificial intelligence. As an example, of the solution for this issue Resolution2015/2103 (INL) was given, where is mentioned that human agent could be responsiblefor the caused damage. Because, it is not always a developer is responsiblefor the damage.Also, the legislation and justice practice of foreign countries was explored. Theways of overcoming mentioned problems in legislation of Ukraine were proposed.Such as changing our legislation and giving the exact explanation in who is the ownerof copyright on works created due to artificial intelligence and in which cases this personcould become an owner of the copyright. However, probably, these issues shouldbe resolved at international level regarding globalization.

The abilities of summarization, learning and self-fitting and inner-parallel computing make artificial neural networks suitable for intrusion detection. On the other hand, data fusion based IDS has been used to solve the problem of distorting rate and failing-to-report rate and improve its performance. However, multi-sensor input-data makes the IDS lose its efficiency. The research of neural network based data fusion IDS tries to combine the strong process ability of neural network with the advantages of data fusion IDS. A neural network is designed to realize the data fusion and intrusion analysis and Pruning algorithm of neural networks is used for filtering information from multi-sensors. In the process of intrusion analysis pruning algorithm of neural networks is used for filtering information from multi-sensors so as to increase its performance and save the bandwidth of networks.

Patterns of water flow around steadily beating comb plates of Pleurobrachia pileus were tracked using suspended plastic beads. The positions of the beads and the comb plates in the plane of the central longitudinal axis of the comb row were digitised from high-speed cine films covering several beat cycles. All of the data from each sequence were combined using a computer program which integrated them into a standard cycle, and the resulting data were plotted by a second computer program to produce charts for different stages in the beat cycle showing the flow velocity at a grid of points. On these charts, contour maps were drawn to indicate the speed and direction of the water flow. Water is drawn towards each comb row from ahead and from the sides and accelerates strongly backwards in a fairly narrow stream which joins those from the other seven comb rows at the rear of the animal. At a beat frequency of 10 Hz the comb plates move with a tip speed of up to 70 mm s-1 in their effective stroke; they have an estimated Reynolds number of 9 in this stroke. Changes in inter- plate volume between adjacent antiplectically coordinated plates are very important in propulsion, particularly near the end of the effective stroke when pairs of adjacent plates close together and cause the high-speed water from around the ciliary tips to be shed into the overlying stream as a series of jets at speeds of 50 mm s-1 or more. The antiplectic coordination of the comb plates makes a major contribution to the efficiency of propulsion.

A simple method has been established for the evaluation of the service performance of ships. Input data are easily collected daily on board and transformed to a well-defined condition that makes possible the comparison between ships, for instance, sister ships, and between different time periods of voyages for the same ship. The procedure has been applied to two ships that are identical, with the only exception that one has a conventional propeller, whereas the other one is fitted with a high-efficiency propeller of the KAPPEL type. The results are obtained from a period of 2 years steaming for both vessels. They clearly confirm the increase of propulsive efficiency obtained with the KAPPEL propeller in the order of magnitude of 4%.
