Content strategies and audience response on Facebook brand pages

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse Facebook brand posts along dimensions of vividness, interactivity, novelty, brand consistency and content type and tests how these characteristics influence audience response in terms of liking and sharing brand posts. Design/methodology/approach – The sample comprised 191 brand posts sourced from the Facebook brand pages of five top selling automotive brands in the UK. Audience response was operationalised using brand post likes and brand post shares, while brand post characteristics were operationalised according to relevant theory. Poisson regression models were tested to measure the effect of brand post characteristics on audience response. Findings – The findings indicate that brand post vividness has a significant positive effect on brand post shares, but not on brand post likes. Brand post interactivity has a significant negative effect on both brand post likes and brand post shares. Brand post novelty and brand post consistency have a significant positive effect on both brand post likes and brand post shares. Finally, brand post content type has a significant positive effect on brand post likes, but not brand post shares. Practical implications – The findings underscore the need for marketers to develop a systematic content strategy for Facebook brand pages. With this in mind, the study proposes several evidence based suggestions. Originality/value – This study contributes to the literature first by synthesising and testing brand post characteristics that were overlooked in prior research and second by developing theoretically consistent operationalisation for already familiar brand post characteristics. These enhancements resulted in a final model with a superior explanatory power.

PurposeExisting studies that documented the effect of financial distress on trade credit provisions did not include measures financial constraint. It is possible that financial distress is tie to financial constraints, and both financial distress and financial constraints mutually reinforce each other in their effects on trade credit provision. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of financial constraint and financial distress on trade credit provisions in the UK FTSE 350 listed firms.Design/methodology/approachThis study employs panel data in the estimation of the determinants of accounts payables and accounts receivables of the UK FTSE 350 firms from 2009 to 2017.FindingsThis study finds that financial distress has significant positive effect on accounts payables and a significant negative effect on accounts receivables. Financial constraints have significant negative effect on accounts payables and a significant positive effect on accounts receivables.Practical implicationsTrade creditor desiring to maintain an enduring product-market relationship grant more concessions to customer in financial distress. The amount of trade credit that sellers provide to financially constrained firm is an increasing function of the buyer's creditworthiness. The urgent cash needs of financially distressed firms lead them to sell trade receivables to factoring company leading to reduction in trade receivables. Firm facing external financing constraints increase trade credit to customers in anticipation of cash flow inflow to enhance liquidity.Originality/valueThis study shows that financial distress and financial constraints mutually reinforce each other in their effects on trade credit provisions, and firm's financing condition contributes to divergence in trade credit policies.

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of consumer-based brand authenticity (CBBA) on customer satisfaction (CS) and brand loyalty (BL). The moderating effect of the variable “alternative attractiveness” in the relationship between CS and BL was further investigated. The study compared and analyzed the difference between global sportswear brands and domestic ones and the difference between global chocolate brands and domestic ones in terms of CBBA, CS, BL and attractiveness of alternatives (AA).Design/methodology/approachStructural equation modeling and multigroup analysis were conducted in order to analyze the data collected from 600 consumers via face-to-face survey.FindingsThe results showed that quality commitment and heritage-sincerity, which are subdimensions of CBBA, had a significant positive effect on CS. Additionally, both of them affected CS differently in the comparison of the global brands with the domestic ones. Furthermore, CS had a significant positive effect on BL, and AA had a negative effect on BL.Originality/valueThis study deepens the insights into the effects of antecedents of CBBA on CS and BL, enhancing the research with quantitative analysis through two different product groups. The study provides important cues on which antecedents of CBBA help to strengthen the authenticity of brands of Turkish and global origin, and also differs in that it examines to what extent the effect of CBBA on CS and BL varies across global and domestic brands.

This study aims to determine and analyze how much influence the bank's internal factors such as Equity, Operational Costs per Operating Income (BOPO), Financing Deposit to Ratio (FDR), Non Performing Financing (NPF) as a mediator and external or macroeconomic factors namely inflation and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on profitability represented by Return on Assets (ROA) at Bank Muamalat Indonesia for the period 2008-2018. The data used in this research are secondary data obtained from the publication of quarterly financial statements from 2008 to quarter 2 of 2018. The method that used in this research is path analysis with SPSS 20.0 as the analytical tool. The results of the study partially test the hypothesis (t-test), in substructure I shows that the capital variable has a significant negative effect on NPF, BOPO and inflation has a significant positive effect on NPF, FDR and GDP do not significantly influence NPF at Bank Muamalat Indonesia. In substructure II partially, Capital, BOPO, significant negative effect on ROA, FDR and NPF has a significant positive effect on ROA, Inflation and GDP does not significantly influence ROA while simultaneously significantly influencing ROA. Based on the sobel test, capital has a significant effect on ROA through NPF, BOPO has a significant effect on ROA through NPF, FDR has a significant effect on ROA through NPF, Inflation has a significant effect on ROA through NPF, while GDP has no significant effect on ROA through NPF.

This study to examine and analyze the effect of liquidity, credit growth, efficiency, and capital adequacy on the Bank’s profitability listed on the IDX partially and simultaneously. The research data are annual data for the 5-year observation period (2009-2013). This research was conducted at 33 banks listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. Banks Analyzed that met the population criteria were 23 banks. The analytical method used in multiple linier regression. The results showed that liquidity, credit growth, efficiency, and capital adequacy together (simultaneously) significantly influence profitability. Partially,  liquidity has a significant positive effect on profitability, while efficiency has a significant negative effect. Credit growth and capital adequacy have no significant effect on profitability. Liquidity is the variable that has the biggest effect on the Bank’s profitability.

This study aims to determine the effect of firm size on human resource accounting disclosure, the effect of profitability on human resource accounting disclosure and the effect of company age on human resources accounting disclosure. The population of this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2017 with a sample of 120 samples. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling method. The data used is secondery data. Analytical technique used are descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, F test, t test and R2 test. The result of the study concluded that 1.) the value of the company sixe was 2,870 and a significance value of 0,005. This proves that the size of company has a significant positive effect on human resource accounting disclosure, 2.) the profitability value is -0,585 and the significance value is 0,560. This proves that profitability has a negative effect not significant on human resource accounting disclosure and 3.) the value of the company age is 1,616 and the significance value is 0,109. This proves that the age company has no significant positive effect on human resource accounting disclosure.  Keywords: company size, profitability, company age, human resource accounting disclosure

PurposeThis study develops and tests a model exploring the relationship between supply chain (SC) counterfeit risk management and performance in the healthcare supply chain (HCSC).Design/methodology/approachIn the proposed theoretical model, HCSC counterfeit risk management is characterized by HCSC counterfeit risk orientation (HCRO), HCSC counterfeit risk mitigation (HCRM) and HCSC risk management integration (HRMI), while performance is represented by healthcare logistics performance (HLP) and healthcare organization overall performance (HOP). Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and survey data from 55 HCSC managers are used to test the research hypotheses.FindingsHCRO has a significant positive effect on HCRM, while HCRM has a positive impact on HRMI. With respect to HLP, HCRM has a nonsignificant effect, while HRMI has a significant impact, thus confirming the important mediating role of HRMI. Finally, HLP has a significant positive effect on the overall performance of healthcare organizations.Research limitations/implicationsAll study participants were from the United States, limiting the generalizability of the study findings to different countries or regions. The sample size employed in the study did not allow the authors to distinguish among the different types of healthcare organizations.Originality/valueThis study delineates between a healthcare organization's philosophy toward counterfeiting risks vs actions taken to eliminate or reduce the impact of counterfeiting on the HCSC. By offering firm-level guidance for managers, this study informs healthcare organizations about addressing the challenge of counterfeiting in the HCSC.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the specification and power of tests based on the DD and modified DD model through the UK data between years 2000 and 2013, and make comparisons with tests using working capital accruals creating a measure of accruals quality as the standard deviation of the residuals value from firm-specific regressions base on working capital accruals on last, current and one-year-ahead cash flows from operations. Design/methodology/approach This study focuses both on the DD model and modified DD model to find out which of them can more accurately capture total working capital accrual estimation error and accrual quality. According to the DD model, the past, current and future net cash from operating activities as the three years’ operating cash inflows or outflows become omitted and correlated variables. In this study, the authors continue to document residuals from the DD and MDD models to demonstrate properties that are more consistent with behaviours of accruals estimation errors. Therefore, in this study, the authors are looking to compare the results from both the MDD and DD models and find which one of them is more effective in explaining the working capital accruals in the UK. Findings The authors find that adding additional explanatory variables may add additional explanatory power of variables to the DD model and extent to which accruals map into cash flow insights based on the UK data. This study is empirically well fitting with the internal workings of cash flows. As investors fixate only on the accounting earnings, they may fail to reflect fully on information contained within cash flow components and working capital accruals of current and future earnings. Originality/value The authors compare different equation to cover more items of working capital accruals. In addition, after examining earnings and accrual quality, the findings show that the average UK company behaviour was quite similar to the behaviour that was founded earlier for both models in the USA. Furthermore, this study results show that more volatility of sales, cash flow, accruals and earnings make a lower accrual quality. The results demonstrate that both models can capture the power to predict working capital accruals. Moreover, we find that adding additional explanatory variable of employee growth rate adds additional explanatory variables to DD model.

The types and sources of data from the Socio-Economic Survey aresecondary. In this study using data that already exists in a data collection (National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) in 2018. The analysis tool used is logistic regression analysis, andthe total number of job seekers is 1,641 people. From the results of this study, it is explained that(1) education has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access theinternet in West Sumatra, (2) gender has no significant negative effect on the opportunities for jobseekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (3) age has no significant positive effect on theopportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra (4) the area of residence has apositive and significant effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in WestSumatra. (5) income has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to accessthe internet in West Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze whether there is an Influence of Liquidity, Growth Opportunity, Asset Structure, and Non Debt Tax Shield on Capital Structure with Profitability as an Intervening Variable in Islamic Commercial Banks Registered at OJK 2016-2020 ". This research is a quantitative research using data sources derived from secondary data, namely the annual report. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique. Of the 14 Islamic commercial banks registered with the OJK, only 11 are in accordance with the sample criteria in this study. This study uses the Eviews 9 application as a tool for data processing. The analytical methods used in this research are stationarity test, panel data regression model test, classical assumption test, regression test, and path analysis test. The results obtained in this study are liquidity has a significant negative effect on capital structure. Growth opportunity and asset structure have a significant positive effect on capital structure. Meanwhile, the non-debt tax shield and profitability variables have no significant positive effect on capital structure. Liquidity has no significant negative effect on profitability, growth opportunity has no significant positive effect on profitability. Asset structure has a significant positive effect on profitability, while non-debt tax shield has a significant negative effect on capital structure. From the results of the path analysis conducted in this study, profitability was not able to mediate the variables of liquidity, growth opportunity, and non-debt tax shield on capital structure, but for the asset structure variable profitability was able to mediate the influence of asset structure on capital structure.

One important indicator factor for assessing the company's future prospects is to see the extent to which the company's profitability has grown. The purpose of this study was to determine the Relationship between Improving the Quality of Company Value through Corporate Governance, Gender Director, Audit Reputation in Conventional Banking and Islamic Banking in Indonesia 2013-2018. This research was conducted in listed companies that are members of the financial sector (Conventional and Sharia Banking) which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2013 to 2018 from 31 banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange from a period of 6 years from 2013 to 2018. Methods used is purposive sampling, namely the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations. While the data analysis method using SEM and AMOS. The results of this study indicate that the Independent Board (Independent Board) does not have a significant positive effect on company performance and firm value (2) Gender Director (Female directorship) does not have a significant negative effect on company performance and firm value (3) Board Members (Managerial Board) ) has a significant positive effect on company performance; but Board Members (Managerial Board) do not have a significant positive effect on firm value.
