Power saving is a very critical issue in wireless sensor network. Many schemes for power saving can be found in the literature, but these schemes barely consider different topology of nodes. In this paper, based on S-MAC algorithm, NALS-MAC algorithm is designed and combined with the characters of application background of wireless mesh sensor networks. According to the number of neighbor nodes, sensor nodes self-adaptively generate the listen-time during a period respectively. The node with more neighbors will have longer listen-time, because more neighbors means higher probability of heavy traffic. The nodes need longer time to deal with information than nodes with low traffic. The results show that the sensor nodes adjusting the listen-time self-adaptively in proper way achieves the reduction of end-to-end delay and enhance throughout.

Collecting illness narratives has become an established way to explore illness experiences. Often both collecting and analysing illness narratives are based on taken for granted narrative norms about how a narrative should look in order to be counted as a narrative and as researchable. Autobiographical illness stories are for instance generally supposed to be coherent and true. Many persons, especially with neurocognitive disorders, have problems living up to and adhere to these narrative norms, thus telling stories that risk being considered as non-stories or as incoherent and fragmented stories. A number of examples of conflicts between narrative norms and illness stories will be discussed. In conclusion, it is argued that researchers must use data collecting methods as well as analytical strategies that allow for alternative ways of telling stories.

The study aimed to describe (1) correlation between learning motivation with learning achievement of automotive vocational; (2) correlation between healthy live attitude with learning achievement of automotive vocational; and (3) correlation between learning motivation and healthy live attitudewith learning achievement of automotive vocational. This study was ex-post facto research. Data collecting methods were questionnaires and documentation. Data analyzing methods used descriptive analysis, first and second hypothesis testing used partial correlation and third hypothesis testing used double regression. This study shows that there was a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation with learning achievement of automotive vocational; (2) there was a positive and significant correlation between healthy live attitude with learning achievement of automotive vocational; and (3) there was a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation and healthy live attitude with learning achievement of automotive vocational.

Abstract

The Uniqueness of Delivering Messages in “Growth” Movie. Most of the Indonesian audience are not familiar with silent movie. Silent movie is basically a film that has no dialogue and only uses visual elements as means to convey messages. The objects of this research is “Growth” movie by Sil Van Der Woerd, that has their own uniqueness compared to movies today. Instead of using dialogues between characters, this movie use expression, gesture, and color to explain the story to the audience. Sil Van Der Woerd is one of the famous directors from the Netherlands, trying to work on a continuous film and without dialogue. The uniqueness of delivering messages on this movie will be analyzed through visuals with descriptive research methods. The data collecting methods are visual observation, journal and online references, and interview according visual and story of the movie. The results of this research is the understanding of how expression, gesture, and color use to explained the story to the audience.

Abstrak

Keunikan Unsur Penyampaian Pesan Film “Growth”.
