Competent management of a company is an important generator of a company value. The aim of the article is to provide detailed academic discussion of the human capital potential and its effects on the value of the company. Attention is paid especially to the definition of the human resources in this context and possible measurability, assuming what can be measured, can be increased. Although the company value can be measured by financial analyses tools, we have in the article moved on to the empirical dimension and provide a theoretical framework of the represented issue. Firstly, we stressed the importance of knowledge in the society of today, secondly, we outlined the indispensability of the intellectual capital for the companies and after that we dealt with the human capital itself, both competences and competencies and their measurability. Based on the partial results, the fi­gure describing the creation of company value was formed; we identified important variables and one of the triggers of these variables. All findings are supported with the literature review e. g. Andreissen (2004), Boddy (2008), Kubeš, et al. (2004), Marinič (2008), Stewart (1998) and Sullivan (2000).

Subject. Currently, as the global economy evolves, its innovative components should demonstrate a tendency of accelerated growth as intellectual capital, information technologies, increasing knowledge and digitization of mushrooming production processes. Nowadays, intellectual capital is one of the economic development drivers. However, the economic community is found to have no generally accepted wording of the concept, thus laying the basis for this article. Objectives. The study sums up the analysis of approaches used by the Russian and foreign economists to determining the economic substance of intellectual capital. We also identify the importance of human capital as its components and specify the definition of the concept. Methods. The article overviews and analyzes proceedings by the most renowned authors, which substantiate how the economic substance of intellectual capital should be unveiled, and suggest its definitions. Results. We specified the definition of intellectual capital concerning the current economic development. We suggest integrating a new component into intellectual capital, such as intellectual property, which includes products of intellectual activity and intangible assets. They can be owned by the entity or other legal entities and individuals, including some employees of the entity. Conclusions and Relevance. The specified definition of intellectual capital will help address issues of sustainable economic development and ensure the competitiveness of the Russian entities nationwide and worldwide, since it directly contributes to intellectual capital and its components.

One of the most important assets of a modern enterprise is human capital and its development opportunities. The need to maintain intellectual capital is due to the introduction of new technological solutions and changes in industrial relations. There is a transformation of the management environment, which focuses on intangible assets and thereby moves to competitive advantages. Within the framework of this article, the peculiarities of regulation and methods of human resources management at the enterprise in the conditions of digitalization are studied. The characteristic of the involvement of domestic enterprises in the HR development strategy is given.

In the age of knowledge economy, human resource is among the most important resources for enterprises, in that it forms the unique value of human resources which plays an indispensable role in the production and operating activities. Well managed human resources can effectively promote efficiency and thus create more social values. Therefore, it has aroused wide attention in academia. The thesis first establish the human capital value model and the human cost value model, based on which the thesis established the basic framework of enterprise human capital network. Then, simulation calculation from three aspects of human resource network were carried out with the cellular automation model. Firstly, we simulated the dynamic process of the change of personnel and got the evaluation model of the human cost in the future two years of a company, which can provide reference for company cost control. Secondly, the simulation mainly focused on checking whether under high staff churn rate, a company can still maintain certain number of employees. Thirdly, we simulated the healthy status of the human resource network under certain situations. Finally, We concluded that higher staff churn rate can lead to higher vacancy rate, which will lower the efficiency of companies .The thesis also explored with the model sensitivity analysis the benefit effect over human resource network by increasing recruits, indicating that increasing recruits can decrease the vacancy rate and improve the health status of the human capital network and based on the reality, we put forward the improvement direction of the model in indicator system aspect.

In a company, employees are one of the most important elements in achieving company goals. The performance of an employee is certainly influenced by several factors that a manager needs to know. Managers must know the strengths and weaknesses of each manager in order to maximize potential and minimize employee shortages. The factors that influence an employee's performance are motivation, compensation and competence. Motivation is needed by an individual because basically humans need encouragement or inducement in order to work better. Motivation is given as a way to improve employee performance to carry out their responsibilities. The different competencies of each employee are also a factor in the good and bad performance of an employee. The competence of each employee must be improved in order to achieve company goals. Compensation also affects an employee's performance. Compensation can be in the form of money or other facilities. Compensation is given as remuneration by the company to employees who have carried out their duties and responsibilities.

In this study, one important thing will be discussed, namely about what is performance, its services, especially for the state civil apparatus (ASN). Since personnel are so important from both the employee and organizational point of view, an efficient evaluation orders related evaluations to the organization. The main objective of this research is to assess the importance of evaluating the performance of the civil service to increase public efficiency as a special type of human capital. This concludes with the steps necessary to ensure the efficient use of the capacity of the civil service of the state. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to explain the performance of the State Civil Apparatus as a development of the quality of human resources.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to provide groundwork for an emerging theory of supply chain robustness – which has been conceptualized as a dimension of supply chain resilience – through reviewing and synthesizing related yet disconnected studies. The paper develops a formal definition of supply chain robustness to build a framework that captures the dimensions, antecedents and moderators of the construct as discussed in the literature. Design/methodology/approach – The authors apply a systematic literature review approach. In order to reduce researcher bias, they involve a team of academics, librarians and managers. Findings – The paper first, provides a formal definition of supply chain robustness; second, builds a theoretical framework of supply chain robustness that augments both causal and descriptive knowledge; third,shows how findings in this review support practice; and fourth,reveals methodological insights on the use of journal rankings in reviews. Research limitations/implications – At this stage, managers may benefit from seeing these relationships as clues derived from the literature. The paper is fundamentally a call for researchers to conduct quantitative testing of such relationships to derive more reliable understanding and practical applications. Practical implications – Rather than presenting empirical findings, this paper reveals to managers that visibility, risk management orientation and reduced network complexity have been the main predictive antecedents of supply chain robustness (as discussed in the academic literature). This provides a potentially important signal as to where to invest resources. Originality/value – The study is the first to develop a formal definition of supply chain robustness and to establish a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding the construct.

This study aims to examine the reality of intellectual capital in the private universities of Turkey and UAE and the role of intellectual capital in enhancing their competitive advantage. In this regard, the study explores the extent to which each element of intellectual capital influences the competitive advantage of the universities under the study and whether there is a difference between universities in how to manage the intellectual capital that they own. Accordingly, the study first explains the definition of intellectual capital and its elements (human capital, structural capital, relational capital), as well as the definition of the competitive advantage and its dimensions and fields of achievement in the universities under the study. Besides, it also investigates the relationship between the administrative procedures followed by these universities in the management of intellectual capital and in enhancing their competitive advantage from several aspects (innovation, quality, flexibility, development, and quality of service). The study relied on the selection of a simple convenience sampling method of the population of private universities in Turkey and UAE by a descriptive analytical approach, so a survey was made to verify the approaches in the theoretical frameworks of the intellectual capital and its relation to the dependent variables, which is the competitive advantage. The hypotheses were tested based on statistical analysis programs. The statistical analysis points to several important results and implications. Findings of the study reveal that there is a statistically significant relationship between the ability of the private universities in Turkey and UAE to manage their intellectual capital and enhance their competitive advantage, while the management of human capital, structural capital, and relational capital seem to have a similar impact rate on the Turkish and UAE private universities in enhancing their competitive advantage. Findings of the study further indicates that there is no statistically significant difference in the average responses of sample members on the level of the availability of intellectual capital requirements and achievement of competitive advantage in the private universities in Turkey and UAE due to some variables like gender, age, qualifications, years of service, years of service in the current position, job title.

Abstract:  This study examines the effect of the relationship between intellectual capital, good corporate governance, and firm value by using competitive advantage as mediation. Design/methodology/approach :  This study uses a sample of companies registered in CGPI during the 2014-2018 period. Data analysis using regression and path analysis.Research findings :  The research results show that the creation of a competitive advantage is inseparable from the role of intellectual capital and good corporate governance. In addition, competitive advantage is able to increase firm value but unfortunately it is not able to mediate company value.Theoretical contribution/ Originality :  This study uses M-VAIC to measure intellectual capital where in this measurement there is additional relational capital, and the use of competitive advantage as a mediating variable.Practitioner/Policy implication : This study proves the resourced-based theory which states that a company can win the competition by having a competitive advantage so that in the end it can increase firm value.Research limitation/Implication:  This study only includes CGPI listed companies as the research sample. In addition, the independent variables used are limited to intellectual capital and good corporate governance. Human resources are the most important asset as the primary determinant of long-term corporate success. Therefore, any efforts to improve the effectiveness and performance of employees in a company or organization are also important factors in improving the the company's capacity of available Intellectual Capital. In addition, learning environment holds important implications for improving organizational performance in a company, especially when associated with knowledge Management that can be used as a learning enabler undertaken by their employees. This paper discusses the relationships between the learning environment and the increase of organizational performance associated with the company’s knowledge management.

The development of knowledge society and the conception of human capital stimulated creation of a different view to human resources. The key factors of company success are not just material and financial sources; greater attention is given to talents. Human resources present most important strategic assets of a company. Employees that can be marked as “talents” have the greatest importance. Organizations receive talents differently, which is caused by different environments and conditions. Implementation of talent management in practice is not yet distinct, since there is a lack of process idea. The chapter focuses on an overview of the opinions of experts on talent management in literature, identification and evaluation of career building of employees in an industrial company in Slovakia, with suggestions on the application of a talent management model.
