Seasonal and regional variations in the abundance of albacore during the 1949, 1950 and 1951 British Columbia fishing seasons suggest that exploitable stocks occurred in increasingly northerly areas during July and August and in more southerly areas during late August, September and early October. Catches were composed of four length-groups with average lengths of 54.3, 62.9, 71.7 and 81.9 centimetres. These groups were sometimes fairly discrete, but usually overlapped broadly, so that it was necessary to plot frequency distributions on probability paper in order to choose the best points of separation.Concentric marks on the centra of vertebrae were used as indicators of the age of the fish. The relationship of body length to vertebral radius is rectilinear. There is good agreement between the estimated average length and standard deviation in length of the fish when grouped by length and when grouped by vertebral ring number. The ages indicated for the four groups are III, IV, V and VI; however the first vertebral ring is somewhat less clear than the others and if it were discounted these ages would be reduced by one year. The fish whose vertebrae were examined had almost completed a year's growth. The length-weight relationship is expressed by the formula, log W = −4.912 + 3.13 log L, where W is the weight in kilograms and L is the fork length in centimetres.

The age and growth of Australian grayling were studied in 1203 individuals collected from the Tambo River, Victoria, between January and November 1979. Scales from 667 grayling were examined. The scale method of age determination was validated by the analysis of seasonal changes in the pattern of scale growth and by correspondence between ages inferred from length-frequency distributions and ages determined by scale readings. One annulus is formed on the scale by October. Most (88%) grayling belonged to the 1+ and 2+ age-classes; fish aged 3+ and 4+ made up 11% of the collection, and fish aged 5+ less than 1%. Size increased from January until May; growth ceased during winter and resumed in September. There was no difference in growth between the sexes. The largest grayling collected was a female of 253 mm fork length (Lf). The overall length-weight relationship was W = 2 715 × 10-6Lf3 2764. The relationship between total length (Lt) and Lf was Lt = 0.93 16 + 1.0742 Lf, and between standard length (Ls) and Lf was Ls = 0.8007 + 0.9095 Lf The overall ratio of males to females was 56 : 44.

The article considers the relationship of outstanding music figures of the Russian culture VladimirV.Scherbachev and NikolayK.Medtner. The analyzed factual material is based on Scherbachevs letters to his wife Maria Illarionovna, written during a one-year trip to Pilnitz on the Elbe near Dresden 19221923. The letters reveal the atmosphere of musical culture of Germany of this period (including the production of Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky in the Dresden opera house). The author gives a detailed description of the process of Scherbachevs work on the score of the monumental symphonic canvas the Second Symphony on the poems by A.Blok, and Medtners opinion about it. In general, the letters of the two musicians give us an opportunity to recreate living and organic image of the two composers possessing different creative bearings, but sincerely worried about the music art.

Hypotheses about the relationship of the processes of visual perception and variations of the task in an identical stimulus environment was tested. The following tasks were tested: 1) a simple observation of the illuminations of the character in the matrix; 2) counting the number of highlights; 3) monitoring of the target symbol highlights and typing text with the P300 BCI. In a group of 14 people showed that the highest average length of visual fixation and the lowest dispersion of fixation observed for the second type of task. Statistically significant differences in the level of dispersion of visual fixations found between 1-2 and 1-3 modes; differences between the modes for the duration of fixations are at trends. Significant differences in the number of visual fixations on the target symbols wasn’t detected. The overall conclusion is the high perspective of pairing methodology brain-computer interface on the P300 wave with eye tracking to optimize the characteristics of the stimulus in the BCI environment. The differences in the parameters of oculomotor activity between the tasks reflect the level of attention concentration in the target symbols of the P300 BCI

Abstract BACKGROUND Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor and carries a very poor prognosis. Recent data report a negative association between the incidence of GBM and atopic disease. The underlying immunologic mechanisms of protection and the associated potential biomarkers are unclear. The aim of this retrospective study is to assess the relationship of eosinophil count to GBM risk by collecting eosinophil count in GBM patients with and without existing atopic disease. METHODS This is a retrospective study of 790 patients diagnosed with GBM from 2009–2019. Of those patients, 140 had laboratory values at least one year prior to diagnosis. Chart review was used to exclude patients with lymphoma, leukemia, other cancers, myelodysplastic syndromes, and unconfirmed drug, food, and adhesive reactions. 14 patients with chart-confirmed allergic rhinitis, asthma, or eczema and 47 controls were found. Wilcoxon rank sum test was used to compare the two groups. RESULTS The two groups did not differ in pre-diagnostic eosinophil counts (p=0.426). The two groups also did not differ in pre-diagnostic basophil, lymphocyte, neutrophil, or monocyte counts. Pre-diagnostic eosinophil to lymphocyte, monocyte to lymphocyte, and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratios also did not differ between the two groups. There were no other quantitative differences that would suggest a difference in immune cell profile. CONCLUSIONS In our study, the subset of GBM patients with atopic disease did not significantly differ in eosinophil count or other white blood cell subtypes when compared to GBM patients without atopic disease. Given that atopic disease is a known protective factor, and our atopic patients with GBM had normal eosinophil counts, we conclude that underlying immunologic factors such as eosinophilia may be protective from GBM as opposed to simply the presence of atopic disease. Prospective analysis to best understand eosinophil count as a surrogate for GBM risk is warranted.

The size composition, length-weight relationship, and condition factor of Thunnus albacares were examined in Bone Bay. Sampling was conducted at two stations, i.e., Station I at Cimpu in Luwu Regency and Station II at Lonrae in Bone Regency between July 2018 and June 2019. 10246 and 2651 yellowfin tunas were captured in Station I and Station II, respectively. Measurement of the fork length ranged between 20 cm and 192 cm with an average length of 81,257 ± 33,456 cm in Station I, and between 26 to 162 cm with an average length of 95,479 cm in Station II. The weight measurement ranged between 0,35 and 99,21 kg with an average of 14,539 kg in Station I, and between 0,46 and 97,35 kg with an average of 26,978 kg in Station II. Calculation of the relationship was based on the formula W= 5,5−5FL2,7454 (R2 = 0,963) in Station I, and W=4,1−5FL2,9103 (R2 = 0,761) in Station II. The values of condition factor at Station I and Station II were 2,1395 and 3,4374, respectively. It is quite evident that the growth pattern of the yellowfin tunas at Bone Bay was negatively allometric, indicating that the length increased faster than the weight.

SummaryOn the basis of 24 maternity hospital records, the current study investigated the validity of maternal recall and the relationship of maternal infections during pregnancy and obstetric complications (OCs) to different diagnostic subgroups of endogenous psychoses on which we reported previously in this journal. Maternal recall showed good agreement to maternity hospital records in the Lewis and Murray scale (ϑ = 0.74). With regard to infectious diseases during pregnancy maternal recall and records showed a weaker, but also good correlation (ϑ = 0.18). Psychoses with low genetic loading had more OCs than psychoses with high genetic loading. Maternal infectious diseases, especially during the fourth or fifth month of gestation, were significantly allocated to Leonhard's systematic schizophrenias. Data from maternity hospital records support our report that infectious diseases during midgestation and further perinatal complications seem to be important etiologic factors in systematic forms of schizophrenia without marked familial loading.

There is more reaction heat of layer curing during fabrication process, so the integral SL System has shrinkage deformation. To improve the building accuracy of integral SL System, the deformation of integral SL is analyzed, a little deflection temperature stress bending differential equation, which describe the relationship of deformation with other parameters in integral SL System, is established with elastic mechanics. The relationship of distortion deformation with layer thickness, contract rate of resin, temperature difference and locations is obtained through the equation. The deformation of a bridge model is simulated with ANSYS software in different building condition. In the simulation process, curing units are activated layer by layer with the method of elements birth and death. The simulation results are in good agreement with the equation. The research results lay a foundation for building high accuracy objects with integral SL System.
