Techniques are developed for more effective sampling for simple linear regression, making use of the relative frequency distribution of the observations over the range of the independent variable. A basis for testing the efficiency of a given sampling design is also provided.

The design of rockfall protection structures requires information about the falling block volumes. Computational tools for rockfall trajectory simulation are now capable of modeling block fragmentation, requiring the fragmented volume-relative frequency distribution of rockfalls as input. This can be challenging at locations with scarce or nonexistent rockfall records and where block surveys are not feasible. The work in this paper shows that simple discrete fracture network realizations from structural mapping based on photogrammetric techniques can be used to reliably estimate rock fall block volumes. These estimates can be used for dimensioning rockfall protection structures in cases where data is scarce or not available. The methodology is tested at two sites in the Canadian Cordillera where limestone outcrops have been the source of recurrent rockfalls. The results suggest that fragmentation will largely tend to occur through weak planes and expansion of non-persistent discontinuities, while other block breakage mechanisms exert less influence in the fragmented volume-relative frequency distribution of rockfalls. Therefore, block volume distribution can be estimated using a simple discrete fracture network (DFN) with fully persistent discontinuities. Limitations of the methods are also discussed, as well as potential future research to address such limitations.

A Monte Carlo algorithm is designed to predict the average time to graduate by enrolling virtual students in a degree plan. The algorithm can be used to improve graduation rates by identifying bottlenecks in a degree plan (e.g., low pass rate courses and prerequisites). Random numbers are used to determine whether students pass or fail classes by comparing them to institutional pass rates. Courses cannot be taken unless prerequisites and corequisites are satisfied. The output of the algorithm generates a relative frequency distribution which plots the number of students who graduate by semester. Pass rates of courses can be changed to determine the courses that have the greatest impact on the time to graduate. Prerequisites can also be removed to determine whether certain prerequisites significantly affect the time to graduate.

This study aims (1) to determine the quality of human resources at KPRI “Pertaguma” Madiun City, (2) To determine the development of business in KPRI “Pertaguma”, and (3) To determine the effect of the quality of human resources to the business development on KPRI “Pertaguma” Madiun City. The independent variable in this study is the quality of human resources while the dependent variable is business development. Sampling technique using a purposive sampling. The researcher uses purposive sampling technique as sampling technique. Results showed that there is difference between the effect of the quality of human resources to the business development on KPRI Pertaguma Madiun. Free variable at this research is the quality of human resource while variable tied is business development. It can be seen from the calculation of simple linear regression of Y = 61.738 + 0.210 X. Where the variable quality of human resources totaled
0.210 shows the influence of the quality of human resources to the business development are positively correlated, meaning that any increase in the quality of human resources 1% resulted in higher business development at 0.210 units. Based on the results of the analysis can be said to be a significant relationship between quality of human resources and the business development, meaning that there is difference business development of the quality of human resources to the business development on KPRI Pertaguma Madiun.

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of teacher creativity on the learning motivation of class VII students at SMP Plus Daarul Jannah, Tangerang Regency. This type of research is field research using a quantitative approach with 30 respondents. The results of this study concluded that the value of the frequency distribution of teacher creativity (variable X) 80% of 24 students from 30 respondents, the value of the frequency distribution of learning motivation (variable Y) 73.33% and the magnitude of the influence of teacher creativity on learning motivation obtained linear regression values Sig < 0.05, namely 0.002 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected, meaning that the independent variable (X) of teacher creativity significantly affects the variable (Y) namely student learning motivation. Based on the value of R square is also called the coefficient of determination which in this case means that the variable of learning motivation is influenced by the creativity of the teacher by 28.3%. The remaining 71.7% is influenced by other factors that have not been studied in this study.

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of using e-learning tools on students achievement in learning who are majoring in accounting at Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University. This research uses quantitave research approach with the type of case study. The data used in this study is primary data by distributing questionnaires directly to all respondents. The population in this study is all students who are majoring in accounting at Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University. The sampling technique used in this study is Judment sampling. The number of questionnaires that have been analyzed are 33 questionnaires. Testing the effect of independent variable on the dependent variable was done by using simple linear regression model with SPSS. The result of this study indicates that the use of e-learning has a positive effect on students achievement in learning who are majoring in accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University.

This research was aimed to investigate the effect of Islamic work ethics to the employee Satisfaction on Waroeng Steak & Shake in Surabaya. This study used questionnaires in primary data collection and quantitative approaches. Experiments were done using simple linear regression, where the dependent variable (Y) is the employee work satisfaction and the independent variable (X) is Islamic work ethics. The research sample were taken by census. The research sample was 33 employees working in Waroeng Steak & Shake Surabaya.Based on the findings, it obtained simple linear regression equation : Y = 0,929 + 0,684X. The magnitude of the influence of Islamic work ethics to the employees work satisfaction on Waroeng Steak & Shake in Surabaya is the R2 value of 0,423 (42,3%). The result show that employee work satisfaction on Waroeng Steak & Shake in Surabaya significantly affect by Islamic work ethics.
