In this paper, we present a family of novel Pseudorandom Number Generators (PRNGs) based on Controllable Cellular Automata (CCA) CCA0, CCA1, CCA2 (NCA), CCA3 (BCA), CCA4 (asymmetric NCA), CCA5, CCA6 and CCA7 PRNGs. The ENT and DIEHARD test suites are used to evaluate the randomness of these CCA PRNGs. The results show that their randomness is better than that of conventional CA and PCA PRNGs while they do not lose the structure simplicity of 1D CA. Moreover, their randomness can be comparable to that of 2D CA PRNGs. Furthermore, we integrate six different types of CCA PRNGs to form CCA PRNG groups to see if the randomness quality of such groups could exceed that of any individual CCA PRNG. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to evolve the configuration of the CCA PRNG groups. Randomness test results on the evolved CCA PRNG groups show that the randomness of the evolved groups is further improved as compared with any individual CCA PRNG.

This paper proposes a generalized approach to 2D CA PRNGs — the 2D lattice CA PRNG — by introducing vertical connections to arrays of 1D CA. The structure of a 2D lattice CA PRNG lies in between that of 1D CA and 2D CA grid PRNGs. With the generalized approach, 2D lattice CA PRNG offers more 2D CA PRNG variations. It is found that they can do better than the conventional 2D CA grid PRNGs. In this paper, the structure and properties of 2D lattice CA are explored by varying the number and location of vertical connections, and by searching for different 2D array settings that can give good randomness based on Diehard test. To get the most out of 2D lattice CA PRNGs, genetic algorithm is employed in searching for good neighborhood characteristics. By adopting an evolutionary approach, the randomness quality of 2D lattice CA PRNGs is optimized. In this paper, a new metric, #rn is introduced as a way of finding a 2D lattice CA PRNG with the least number of cells required to pass Diehard test. Following the introduction of the new metric #rn, a cropping technique is presented to further boost the CA PRNG performance. The cost and efficiency of 2D lattice CA PRNG is compared with past works on CA PRNGs.

AbstractGenerating pseudorandom numbers is a prerequisite for many areas including Monte Carlo simulation and randomized algorithms. The performance of pseudorandom number generators (PRNGs) depends on the quality of the generated random sequences. They must be generated quickly and have good statistical properties. Several statistical test suites have been developed to evaluate a single stream of random numbers such as those from the TestU01 library, the DIEHARD test suite, the tests from the SPRNG package, and a set of tests designed to evaluate bit sequences developed at NIST. This paper presents a new pseudorandom number generation scheme that produces pseudorandom sequences with good statistical properties via a scrambling procedure motivated by cryptographic transformations. We will specifically apply this to a popular set of PRNGs called the Linear Congruential generators (LGCs). The scrambling technique is based on a simplified version of a Feistel network. The proposed method seeks to improve the quality of the LCGs output stream. We show that this Feistel-inspired scrambling technique breaks up the regularities that are known to exist in LCGs. The Feistel-inspired scrambling technique is modular, and can be applied to any 64-bit PRNG, and so we believe that it can serve as an inexpensive model for a scrambler that can be used with most PRNGs via post-processing.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a telecommunications technology that is able to pass the communication service in Internet Protocol networks so as to allow communicating between users in an IP network. However VoIP technology still has weakness in the Quality of Service (QoS). VOPI weaknesses is affected by the selection of the physical servers used. In this research, VoIP is configured on Linux operating system with Asterisk as VoIP application server and integrated on a Raspberry Pi by using wired and wireless network as the transmission medium. Because of depletion of IPv4 capacity that can be used on the network, it needs to be applied to VoIP system using the IPv6 network protocol with supports devices. The test results by using a wired transmission medium that has obtained are the average delay is 117.851 ms, jitter is 5.796 ms, packet loss is 0.38%, throughput is 962.861 kbps, 8.33% of CPU usage and 59.33% of memory usage. The analysis shows that the wired transmission media is better than the wireless transmission media and wireless-wired.

Rapid, precise, and relevant methods for predicting the sensory quality of frozen peas were sought. Pea batches chosen to span many different types of quality variations were analyzed by a consumer test, sensory laboratory analysis, and traditional chemical and physical measurements as well as by near-infrared reflectance analysis (NIR). Partial least-squares (PLS) regression was used to reveal the relationships between the different types of measurements. A noise-compensated value, relative ability of prediction (RAP), was used to express the degree of prediction (1.0 = perfect prediction). NIR was found to predict the sensory texture variables (RAP = 0.79) better than the flavor variables (RAP = 0.67). Average consumer preference was less well predicted (RAP = 0.48) by NIR. This was interpretable since NIR gave a better description of the chemical and physical methods relevant for texture (e.g., dry matter (RAP = 0.93)) than the flavor-related variables (e.g., sucrose (RAP = 0.45)) that apparently determine the consumer preference. However, NIR was found to describe the average variation in sensory quality better than the traditional tenderometer value (TV). The highest prediction of sensory variables was obtained by a combination of NIR, TV, and chemical measurements (RAP = 0.87 and 0.80 for texture and flavor variables, respectively). We discuss the predictive validity and the meaning of the present predictive abilities in practice, leading to a conclusion that NIR has a potential for predicting the sensory quality of peas.

Objectives. This study reviewed and evaluated existing evidence of the efficacy of acupuncture as a clinical treatment for dysphagia after stroke. Methods. Five English and four Chinese databases were searched from inception to March 2020. All randomized controlled trials (RCTs) incorporating acupuncture or acupuncture combined with other interventions for the treatment of dysphagia after stroke were enrolled. All data were independently assessed and extracted by two authors. The bias risk assessment recommended by the Cochrane Collaboration's tool was used to assess the quality of the selected studies. This meta-analysis was conducted by using RevMan 5.3. Pooled analyses were calculated by the mean difference (MD) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Heterogeneity was assessed by the I2 test. Results. Thirty-five studies involving 3024 patients were analyzed. The meta-analysis showed that the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture combined with other interventions was better than that of the control group for the standardized swallowing assessment (SSA) score (MD = −3.78, 95% CI: −4.64 to −2.91, P < 0.00001 ), Ichiro Fujishima rating scale (IFRS) score (MD = 1.68, 95% CI: 1.16 to 2.20, P < 0.00001 ), videofluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) score (MD = 2.26, 95% CI: 1.77 to 2.74, P < 0.00001 ), and water swallowing test (WST) score (MD = −1.21, 95% CI: −1.85 to −0.57, P =   0.0002 ). In studies reporting adverse effects, no serious outcome from an adverse event was confirmed. Conclusion. This systematic review indicated that acupuncture could be an effective therapy for treating dysphagia after stroke although stricter evaluation standards and rigorously designed RCTs are needed.

SEMEN QUALITY OF LIMOUSIN AND SIMMENTAL BULLS MAINTAINED IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF PENS AT THE INSTITUTION OF LEMBANG ARTIFICIAL. The intensive maintenance of bulls included animal house and pens protecting animals against sunlight, cool effect, rain, high speed of win and other predators. Objective of this study was to evaluate effects of single bull in a pen (SB) and double bulls in a pen (DB) on semen quality of Limousin and Simmental bulls at the Institution of Lembang Artificial Insemination in West Java. Primer and secondary data of both bulls reproduction were used in this study and analyzed by t test method. Results showed that average volume of semen in both bulls of Limousin and Simmental under SB (9.54 ± 2.19 mL/ejaculation) was significantly higher of 7.67 percents than those of bulls under DB (8.86 ± 1.79 mL/ejaculation). The average of percentage of spermatozoa motility in both bulls of Limousin and Simmental under DB (71.00 ± 2.67) was not significantly differ with those of bulls under SB (70.10 ± 2.37). The average of spermatozoa mass movement in both bulls of Limousin and Simmental under SB (1.84 ± 0.37) was significantly more aggressive of 5.43 percents than those of bulls under DB (1.94 ± 0.24). Finally, the average of pH of semen in both bulls of Limousin and Simmental under SB (6.66 ± 0.11) was not significantly differ with those of bulls under DB (6.64 ± 0.10). Correlation between reproduction variables of both Limousinand Simmental bulls in SB and DB was not correlated between one and another variables indicated by correlation values ranging from -0.29 to 0.18. Based of the result of study can be concluded that semen quality of Limousin and Simental in single pen was better than that in double pens. The correlations among reproductive veriables of Limousin and Simmental in both sigle and double pens had no correlation between one and another variable. Keyword: Type of Pen, Semen Quality, Simmental Bull, Limousin Bull.

Abstract: The use of anchors in construction is gaining popularity to connect steel and concrete constructions, and to transmit tensile loads acting onto the concrete. This research aims to find out the difference in the strength of anchor based on two methods of installations that are cast in place compared to post installed with the influence of effective depth, diameter of anchor and quality of concrete, and failure of concrete breakout. Expansion anchor used in this study is "Sanko" M12x100 and ready-mix concrete PT Bonindo Ungaran, fc 25 MPa with 6 pieces of test specimens of 300x300x150 mm. Each specimen has 4 anchors with a distance between the anchors of 100 cm, the distance between the anchors to the edge of the concrete 100 mm, and the depth of installation (hef) of 60 mm. The result of the study is the predicted value of the anchor pullout capacity with the failure of concrete breakout due to the theoretical pullout, namely 42,223 N, anchor pullout test results with cast in place method of 40,574 N and post installed method by 37,494 N. Tensile strength tests (material) of anchor (fy) 338 MPa, for flat concrete compressive strength strength of (f’c) 25,698 MPa. The results of the cast in place pullout test are larger and better than post installed (40574 N>37494 N). Failure that occurred in cast in place method is a failure of concrete breakout and post installed method has occurred slip. Failures that occur are relevant to the theory.

Objective. To review the effectiveness of classic Chinese acupuncture in the treatment of chronic pain by comparing treatment groups with different types of control groups in accordance with the newly published guidelines for systematic reviews. Methods. We searched EMBASE, PubMed, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases from 2000 to 2018. We included randomized controlled trials that included acupuncture as the sole treatment or as an adjunctive treatment for chronic pain. The outcome was pain intensity measured by the visual analogue scale (VAS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) pain subscale, 11-point numeric rating scale (NRS), and other tools. Two researchers conducted the study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment processes independently. Disagreements were solved by discussion and reanalysis of the data. The quality of all included studies was evaluated using the CBNG (the Cochrane Back and Neck Group) and the STRICTA (Standards for Reporting Interventions in Controlled Trials of Acupuncture) checklists. Results. Sixty-one studies were fully analyzed and ranked based on the newest STRICTA and CBNG standards. We found good evidence that receiving acupuncture is better than not receiving treatment or being placed on a waiting list and reasonable evidence that it is better than conventional or usual care. Limited evidence was found regarding placebo treatments that involve the expectation of needling (real or fake). Conclusion. Sham acupuncture may not be appropriate as a control intervention for assessing the effectiveness of acupuncture. Acupuncture effectiveness in controlling chronic pain is still limited due to the low quality of the studies published.
