Poor sleep habits may cause serious problems of mind and body, and it is a commonly observed issue for college students due to study workload as well as peer and social influence. Understanding its impact and identifying students with poor sleep habits matters a lot in educational management. Most of the current researches is either based on self-reports and questionnaires, suffering from small sample size and social desirability bias, or the methods used are not suitable for the education system. In this paper, we develop a general data-driven method for identifying students' sleep patterns according to their Internet access pattern stored in the education management system and explore its influence from various aspects. First, we design a Possion-based probabilistic mixture model to cluster students according to the distribution of bedtime and identify students who are used to stay up late. Second, we profile students from five aspects (including eight dimensions) based on campusbehavior data and build Bayesian networks to explore the relationship between behavioral characteristics and sleeping habits. Finally, we test the predictability of sleeping habits. This paper not only contributes to the understanding of student sleep from a cognitive and behavioral perspective but also presents a new approach that provides an effective framework for various educational institutions to detect the sleeping patterns of students.

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is characterised by chronic widespread pain alongside fatigue, poor sleep quality and numerous comorbidities. It is estimated to have a worldwide prevalence of 1.78%, with a predominance in females. Treatment interventions for fibromyalgia have limited success, leading to many patients seeking alternative forms of treatment, including modifications to their diet and lifestyle. The effectiveness of dietary changes in fibromyalgia has not been widely researched or evaluated. This systematic review identified twenty-two studies, including 18 randomised control trials (RCTs) and four cohort studies which were eligible for inclusion. In total these studies investigated 17 different nutritional interventions. Significant improvements in reported pain were observed for those following a vegan diet, as well as with the low fermentable oligo di-mono-saccharides and polyols (FODMAP) diets. Supplementation with Chlorella green algae, coenzyme Q10, acetyl-l-carnitine or a combination of vitamin C and E significantly improved measures of pain. Interpretation of these studies was limited due to the frequent poor quality of the study design, the wide heterogeneity between studies, the small sample size and a high degree of bias. Therefore, there is insufficient evidence to recommend any one particular nutritional intervention for the management of fibromyalgia and further research is needed.

Adolescents with asthma are at-risk for poor sleep quality. Little research has examined the relationship between sleep quality and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) adherence. Individuals from lower-income backgrounds experience disparities that may alsocontribute to sleep quality. This study sought to 1) examine associations between household income and sleep quality and 2) analyze the relationship between sleep quality and ICS adherence among adolescents with asthma.Forty-one adolescents with persistent asthma (Mage = 14.83, SD = 1.28) completed the Adolescent Sleep Wake Scale (ASWS) to measure sleep quality across five subscales. Caregivers provided their estimated household income per year and completed a free response question measuring ICS adherence. Spearman’s rank-order correlations were used to examine associations between sleep quality, household income and ICS adherence. Sleep quality and household income were not significantly related (r = .262, p = .098). Sleep quality was not associated with ICS adherence (r = -.028, p = .867). Sleep quality was not significantly related to household income or ICS adherence in adolescents with asthma. Limitations include limited power given a small sample size and less reliable measures of household income and adherence therefore, future directions should focus on using more precise measures. Additional research with larger sample sizes may help better understand potential relationships between sleep quality, ICS adherence, and household income within youth with asthma.

Purpose:- Talented employees are one of the sources that enable the organizations to achieve competitive advantage. However, considering the globalization and hyper-competition in today’s business environment, organizations are facing many challenges including engaging and sustaining talented and skilled employees. Thus, the purpose of this - quantitative, correlational, descriptive and cross-sectional study is to understand the relationship between talent mindset (TM) and organizational commitment components (i.e., affective, normative and continuance) of employees in Pakistan. Design/methodology/approach: The researcher used the quantitative research approach and employed survey based method, using structured verified questionnaires, to collect data from 300 employees (i.e., principals, vice-principals, the chairman, head of the departments and administrative staff) in educational institutions (i.e., privates sector colleges) in two cities (Bahawalpur and Haroonabad) of the Punjab province of Pakistan.   Findings: Results confirmed that there is a positive and significant relationship between talent mindset and components of organizational commitment.   Practical Implications/Limitations: This study has considerable importance, because it provided insights regarding the relationship between dimensions of OC with talent mindset by focusing on employees in the services sector of Pakistan. It is also useful as it provided guidelines regarding how the commitment of employees in educational institutions can be enhanced through designing appropriate strategies and frameworks accordingly. In terms of limitations, the present study had small sample size, and focused on employees in services sector in a specific region. Originality/value: Most of the studies investigating the relationship between TM and dimensions of OC were conducted in the western context and focused on non-services sector. While, this study focused on services sector in non-western context to further the understanding of relationship between talent mindset and components of organizational commitment of employees in educational institutions in Pakistan.

Abstract Introduction While sleep disorders occur in 40–70% of chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients, the pathophysiology remains unknown. Increasingly, DTI has been used to evaluate gray matter structures, but no prior studies have evaluated hypothalamic regions in TBI. We hypothesized that TBI patients with poor sleep quality by questionnaire and/or polysomnography (PSG) may have structural injury to hypothalamic sleep circuitry and that this may be detectable by diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI). We examined diffusion tensor parameters in warfighters using dMRI within the hypothalamus of poor sleepers and compared them to good sleepers. Methods A retrospective review of 92 warfighters with blast TBI and loss of consciousness included demographics, structural MRI, dMRI, PSG and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Acquisition of diffusion-weighted and structural data was performed with three Tesla MRI. Using the California Institute of Technology probabilistic high-resolution in vivo atlas as a prior, the hypothalamic nuclei were segmented by applying diffeomorphic registration of T1- and T2-weighted structural images and mapped to dMRI space. Results TBI patients within the lowest quartile of hypothalamic fractional anisotropy (FA) measures demonstrated decreased total sleep time (320 +/- 52 minutes vs. 382 +/- 19, p=0.006) on PSG and had more sleep complaints on PSQI (p=0.029) compared to those with the highest quartile of FA measures. There was no difference in BMI, age or AHI among the quartiles. Radial, mean and axial diffusivity quartiles did not carry significant differences in TST or PSQI. Linear models did not show significant correlation between any imaging parameter and sleep quality measures. Conclusion Our results reveal microstructural differences in the hypothalami of military TBI patients that may be related to clinical sleep dysfunction. Biomarkers of sleep circuitry damage may further our understanding of sleep dysfunction after TBI. Lack of correlations in linear models may be a reflection of the small sample size or a complex interaction, and removal of outliers did not change our results. Larger longitudinal studies may help clarify the association between hypothalamic and brainstem circuitry structure after TBI and sleep dysfunction. Eggs have long been a favorite material for studying the mechanism of karyokinesis in-vivo and in-vitro. They can be obtained in great numbers and, when fertilized, divide synchronously over many cell cycles. However, they are not considered to be a practical system for ultrastructural studies on the mitotic apparatus (MA) for several reasons, the most obvious of which is that sectioning them is a formidable task: over 1000 ultra-thin sections need to be cut from a single 80-100 μm diameter egg and of these sections only a small percentage will contain the area or structure of interest. Thus it is difficult and time consuming to obtain reliable ultrastructural data concerning the MA of eggs; and when it is obtained it is necessarily based on a small sample size.We have recently developed a procedure which will facilitate many studies concerned with the ultrastructure of the MA in eggs. It is based on the availability of biological HVEM's and on the observation that 0.25 μm thick serial sections can be screened at high resolution for content (after mounting on slot grids and staining with uranyl and lead) by phase contrast light microscopy (LM; Figs 1-2).

Abstract. Background: Suicide is a leading cause of death among Spanish-speaking individuals. Suicide stigma can be a risk factor for suicide. A widely used measure is the Stigma of Suicide Scale-Short Form (SOSS-SF; Batterham, Calear, & Christensen, 2013 ). Although the SOSS-SF has established psychometric properties and factor structure in other languages and cultural contexts, no evidence is available from Spanish-speaking populations. Aim: This study aims to validate a Spanish translation of the SOSS-SF among a sample of Spanish-speaking healthcare students ( N = 277). Method: We implemented a cross-sectional design with quantitative techniques. Results: Following a structural equation modeling approach, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) supported the three-factor model proposed by Batterham and colleagues (2013) . Limitations: The study was limited by the small sample size and recruitment by availability. Conclusion: Findings suggest that the Spanish version of the SOSS-SF is a valid and reliable tool with which to examine suicide stigma among Spanish-speaking populations.
