This study aims at exploring learning obstacles about arithmetic operations, and problems of addition and subtraction of whole numbers in primary schools. This preliminary qualitative research used a didactic research design. The participants of this study were 50 second-grade students at primary schools in three regencies. The instruments used were test and nontest. The test technique was conducted by giving questions about algebra, whereas the nontest technique was in the form of interviews. The data were analyzed using interactive analysis by Miles & Huberman. The findings indicate that there are three types of learning obstacles, namely, (1) ontogenic obstacles with psychological and instrumental types (students feel afraid and do not understand the prerequisite material), (2) epistemological obstacles (students’ experience in working on story problems with the concept of algebraic thinking does not exist), and (3) didactical obstacle (the methods taught tend to focus on the counting process instead of understanding the concept). Learning barriers can be categorized into three types, namely, ontogenic, epistemological, and didactic barriers. With the discovery of these learning barriers, a solution is found in the form of making learning designs that are tailored to the learning obstacles found. One of them is by applying grading questions from story problems into mathematical sentences.

The method of teaching using "BRAINballs" educational balls in physical education classes has been researched and widely applied to children of pre-schools and primary schools in Poland, with the aim of developing motor skills, improve physical development and academic achievement of students. In this article, we present an empirical pedagogical study using BRAINballs in teaching physical education classes to second grade students at primary schools in Vietnam. The purpose of the study was to examine changes in math skills, English and physical fitness in students from the experimental class compared to the control class at two times before and after the experiment. The results of this study will be the premise for further research to prove the effectiveness and suitability of BRAINballs when applied to teaching primary school students in Vietnam.

This study aims to produce a model of basic throw through games which is useful for teachers in giving lessons to primary school students. This development model is a procedural development, because it is in accordance with the problem to be solved and the objectives to be achieved. The procedure used includes five main stages, namely: 1) conducting an analysis of the product you want to develop, 2) making an initial product of a model of basic throw through games for primary students, 3) expert validation, 4) field testing, and 5) product revision. The data are qualitative and quantitative data, while the instruments are list question and observations. Data analysis uses percentages to analyze and subject ratings to assess the feasibility, quality and acceptability of the product. The research study in a model of basic throw through games for primary students along with the development of infrastructure, regulations, and playing techniques. The model for developing basic throw through this game is proven to be feasible, of quality, then acceptable for developing the concept skills of game motion and increasing the physical fitness of primary school students, because respondents when playing ball show that the average category is quite good, meaning that this development model is average - can be demonstrated.

Background and Objective: Rational, emotional, and behavioral skills include self-awareness, as well as critical and creative thinking, which assist individuals in acquiring a deeper understanding of their personality, weaknesses, strengths, emotions, values, and identity. The present research aimed to compare the effect of the rational-emotional theory and strict discipline on rational, emotional, and behavioral skills among high school second-grade students. Materials and Methods: The current study was conducted based on a pre and post-test design on three groups, including one control and two test groups. The statistical population consisted of 90 male second-grade high school students in Tehran during 2019-2020. The G*Power software was used to calculate the sample size. A number of 75 second-grade students were recruited for this study via the convenient sampling method. After that, the participants were assigned to three groups of 25 students. A self-made questionnaire of life skills, similar to Saatchi, Kamkar, and Askarian, was employed for data collection. Fifteen experts in curriculum planning confirmed the internal and external validity of the questionnaire. Moreover, its reliability was confirmed, rendering a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.92. The data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 21) using multi-variant analysis of the covariance and Scheffe's Post Hoc test. Results: Based on the results, the rational-emotional method had a more significant effect on students' rational (F=11.56, P<0.001), emotional (F=20.33, P<0.001), and behavioral skills (F=16.67, P<0.001), compared to the strict discipline. Conclusions: It can be concluded that life skill training through rational-emotional theory brings about a marked increase in students' rational, behavioral, and emotional skills. Nevertheless, the strict discipline method revealed no significant association between training students on life skills and increased rational, behavioral, and emotional skills.

The problems of writing are found at MTs Almuna Samarinda; the students are reluctant to write English, they are difficult to express their ideas and thought to the paragraph writing, they made many grammatical mistakes in their writing, and they are also lack of vocabulary in their writing so that it made their writing monoton. This is a classroom action research which aimed at improving the students’ writing ability of madrasah students. The setting of the research is the second grade students of MTs Almuna Samarinda. The instruments of the study are observation and writing test. The result of study shows that Guided writing can overcome the problems in the teaching of writing found at MTs Almuna Samarinda. It was found that in preliminary study, there were 14 students (50%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 14 students (50%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 80 and the lowest score was 50. In Cycle 1, there were 18 students (64%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 10 students (36%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 80 and the lowest score was 55. This cycle was not successful because it did not reach the criteria of success, 70. In Cycle 2, there were 22 students (79%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 6 students (21%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 90 and the lowest score was 60. This cycle was successful because it reached the criteria of success

This research is intended to determine the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR)-assisted pictorial storybook in improving discipline character of primary school students. The population of this research was all state-run primary schools in in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Specifically, the samples were fourth-grade students from two primary schools, where each of them was selected to be control and experiment groups. The method used is an experimental research, while the sampling technique was cluster random sampling technique. The data collection technique was disciplinary character observation technique. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using t-test technique. The results of this research indicated that the value of sig. t-test was 0.00 (<0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that AR-assisted picture storybook was considered effective in enhancing disciplinary character of primary school students. Therefore, it is recommended that the use of AR can be improved and disseminated to reach the learning objectives of primary school students, specifically in enhancing discipline character.
