<p>The aim of this research is to analyze empirically English writing skill of Senior High School students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The population of this research is the second grade students from SMA Yaspen Tugu Ibu in Depok. The sample was taken through simple random sampling of which 25 students as samples of this research. For collecting the data, the instruments used in this research were writing test and interview. The writing test was conducted to obtain the writing skill indicators, while the interview was carried out to elicit information of students’ problems in writing. The result of this research explained that students’ English writing skill was definitely good at SMA Yaspen Tugu Ibu Depok. There were 88% of students with scores more than 50 and only 12 % with scores less than 50. In conclusion, the students’ writing skill at SMA Yaspen Tugu Ibu is considered to be high category in English writing skill.</p>

This study aimed at investigating the effect of Project-Based Learning on students’ writing skill of grade 9 at SMPN 3 Kuta Selatan. This study employed embedded mixed method design, in which the quantitative data were considered as the main data. The data were collected through guided interview, observation, and writing test. Paired sample t-test was used for the quantitative data analysis. The result showed that Project-Based Learning has significant effect on students’ English writing skill (sig. = .000 < α = .05). Project-Based Learning also revealed potentially promotes students’ critical thinking, communication, and creativity through collaborative work. In general, it can be concluded that Project-Based Learning significantly improves junior high school students’ writing skill in English as a Foreign Language.

The problems of writing are found at MTs Almuna Samarinda; the students are reluctant to write English, they are difficult to express their ideas and thought to the paragraph writing, they made many grammatical mistakes in their writing, and they are also lack of vocabulary in their writing so that it made their writing monoton. This is a classroom action research which aimed at improving the students’ writing ability of madrasah students. The setting of the research is the second grade students of MTs Almuna Samarinda. The instruments of the study are observation and writing test. The result of study shows that Guided writing can overcome the problems in the teaching of writing found at MTs Almuna Samarinda. It was found that in preliminary study, there were 14 students (50%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 14 students (50%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 80 and the lowest score was 50. In Cycle 1, there were 18 students (64%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 10 students (36%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 80 and the lowest score was 55. This cycle was not successful because it did not reach the criteria of success, 70. In Cycle 2, there were 22 students (79%) who achieved minimum passing grade and there were 6 students (21%) of the students who did not pass the minimum passing grade, the highest score was 90 and the lowest score was 60. This cycle was successful because it reached the criteria of success

ABSTRACTThis study examines how strong internet' influence is regarding to intensity and appeal of the message to the attitudes of senior high school students in relation to cyberbullying. Reflecting on some cases abroad and also in Indonesia, can be assumed that the phenomenon of bullying is able to affect the attitudes of students who are searching for their identity related to their beliefs, life meaning, and life purpose. This study uses explanatory survey with a target population of high school’s students in the city of Medan. Sampling technique using simple random sampling with proportional allocation. The research shows that there is linier relation between cyberbullying and students behaviour in Medan.Keywords: cyberbullying, teenager, behaviour ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji seberapa besar pengaruh internet menyangkut intensitas dan daya tarik pesannya terhadap sikap pelajar SMA dalam kaitannya dengan cyberbullying. Bercermin pada beberapa kasus-kasus di luar negeri dan juga dalam negeri dapat diasumsikan bahwa fenomena bullying dapat mempengaruhi sikap pelajar yang sedang mencari identitas diri yang berkaitan dengan keyakinan, pencarian makna kehidupan, dan tujuan hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey eksplanatori dengan populasi sasaran pelajar SMA Negeri di Kota Medan. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dengan alokasi proporsional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang linier antara cyberbullying dan sikap remaja di kota Medan.Kata kunci: cyberbullying, remaja, perilaku

Abstract. The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of pictures in writing class of senior high school students. It employed a quantitative method using the quasi-experimental design. The subject of the research was the third year students of on senior high school in Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The total number of population is 100 students which are distributed in 5 classes. Each class consists of 20 students. The sampling technique used in this research is cluster random sampling. The instrument was a writing test to obtain data on the students’ writing achievement through the pictures. Based on the result the researcher concluded that the pictures enhance the writing skill of senior high schools’ students.

This research is a classroom action research. The objectives of this study were: (1) to find out whether there were significant differences in students' speaking abilities after being taught through Talking Chips techniques, and (2) to find out which techniques were better for improving students. 'Speaking ability. This research was conducted on second grade students at YAS Sindangkerta High School. The method used in this study is Class Action Research. The research was on two cycles with total meetings were seven; three meetings were for tests, and four meetings were for treatment. Each cycle covered the step of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were analyzed by using independent sample t-test in SPSS 16.0. There is a significant difference of the students’ speaking ability achievement between the students who were taught through the Talking Chips technique and taught without Talking Chips technique. In Cycle 1 the increase score 59.62 while in cycle 2 is 72.25. From the result of the data, teaching speaking through Talking Chips technique is more effective to increase students’ speaking ability because Talking Chips technique can give more enjoyable speaking atmosphere for students in the classroom. Keywords:  Talking Chips, Speaking ,Car

ABSTRACTThe prevalence of HIV infection in aged 15-19 years old was increased significantly every year. Adolescent is a high-risk groups for HIV infection due to high chance to try something new and having big influenced by their peer in school. There is limited intervention utilizing technology conducted in Indonesia to reduce the risk of HIV among adolescents. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of peer-led technology on knowledge and attitude towards HIV prevention among adolescent in Bandung. This research was a queasy experiment with one group conducted in a one of private senior high school in Indonesia from April to August 2018. The sample in this study was a student in one of private high school in Bandung. The inclusion criteria in this study were high school students in grade 1, 2; three sample technique used simple random sampling. The Bahasa version of knowledge and  attitude towards HIV prevention were used to measure the outcome. Paired t test used to test the mean sore of knowledge and attitude the intervention before and after. A total of 28 senior high school students agreed to join in this study. This study found that peer-led technology was useful to improve the knowledge and attitudes of high school students towards HIV prevention, mainly through sexual transmission (p-value <0.001, with a mean difference between pre-test and post-test, was 5.2 for knowledge and 3.19 for attitude). In conclusion, utilizing technology to provide health education in adolescent effectively to improve knowledge and attitude towards HIV prevention. ABSTRAKPrevalensi HIV infeksi pada umur 15-19 tahun meningkat secara signifikan setiap tahun. Remaja adalah kelompok berisiko tinggi untuk infeksi HIV, pada masa ini mereka senang mencoba sesuatu yang baru dan juga faktor tingginya pengaruh teman sebaya di sekolah. Masih sedikit intervensi pencegahan HIV  yang memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mengurangi risiko HIV kalangan remaja di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas peer lead teknologi terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap dalam pencegahan HIV di antara remaja di Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen pada satu kelompok perlakuan yang dilakukan di salah satu SMA swasta di Indonesia dari bulan April hingga Agustus 2018. Kriteria inklusi dalam studi ini adalah siswa SMA kelas 1 dan 2. Teknik pengambilan sample dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Instrumen versi bahasa indonesia digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk mengukur pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap pencegahan HIV. Analisa data menggunakan paired T test untuk mebandingkan hasil sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Total sejumlah  28 siswa SMA setuju untuk bergabung dalam studi ini. Studi ini menemukan bahwa peer lead technology berguna untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap siswa SMA terhadap pencegahan HIV, terutama melalui transmisi seksual (p-nilai < 0.001, dengan perbedaan yang berarti antara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi  adalah 5.2 untuk pengetahuan dan 3.19 untuk sikap). Kesimpulannya, pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan kesehatan pada remaja terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap pencegahan HIV.

AbstractThis research aimed at knowing positive relationship between family functioning with self-regulated learning of Pangudi Luhur Van Lith Muntilan Senior High School students. This research was conducted on 80 students by using random sampling technique. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Measuring instrument used for family functioning is The McMaster Model of Family Functioning with alpha cronbach’s coefficient is 0,927 and self-regulated scale with alpha cronbach’s coefficient is 0,899. From the data analysis obtained the result of coefficient correlation is 0,366 with the significance amount 0,000 (p < 0,05), so it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between family functioning and self-regulated learning of Pangudi Luhur Van Lith Muntilan Senior High School students, so the hypothesis pruposed in this study is accepted.Keywords: Family Functioning, Self-Regulated Learning    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keberfungsian keluarga dengan self-regulated learning pada siswa di SMA Pangudi Luhur Van Lith Muntilan. This research was aimed to find out the correlation between students’ creativity and their writing skill. The kind of this research was simple correlational study (quantitative approach). The population of this research was 77 of the second grade students of MA NW Peseng. The sample of this research was 21 consist of one class. The sample technique that used in this research was cluster random sampling technique by using lottery. The intruments that was used in this research were tests, that were verbal creativity test and writing test. Then the technique that used in analyzing the data was Pearson Product Moment formula. From the research, the r of xy score was higher than r-table (0.829>0.456) in 5% and 1% level of significance. Based on the result of this research, it could be concluded that there was a significant correlation between students’ creativity and their writing skill meant Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and Null hypothesis (H0) was rejected.

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peran iklim sekolah dan keyakinan normatif mengenai agresi terhadap agresivitas siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, dan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa multistage random sampling dan melibatkan 471 siswa SMA dan sederajat. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan tiga jenis skala untuk mengukur agresivitas, iklim sekolah, dan keyakinan normatif mengenai agresi. Hipotesis penelitian diuji menggunakan regresi linier berganda yang menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara iklim sekolah dan keyakinan normatif mengenai agresi terhadap agresivitas siswa. Menurut hasil uji parsial terlihat bahwa keyakina normatif mengenai agresi berperan lebih besar terhadap agresivitas siswa dibandingkan dengan iklim sekolah.  Kata Kunci: Agresivitas, Iklim Sekolah, Keyakinan Normatif, Siswa ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to look at the role of school climate and normative beliefs about aggression against the aggressiveness of the students in the school. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods, and the use of sampling techniques such as multistage random sampling and involve 471 senior high school students. Data were collected using three types of scales to measure aggressiveness, school climate, and normative beliefs about aggression. The hypothesis was tested using multiple linear regression showed that there is significant relationship between school climate and normative beliefs about aggression against the aggressiveness of the students.
