Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, there is a remarkable demand for robots, especially in the clinical sector. SARS-CoV-2 mainly propagates due to close human interactions and contaminated surfaces, and hence, maintaining social distancing has become a mandatory preventive measure. This generates the need to treat patients with minimal doctor-patient interaction. Introducing robots in the healthcare sector protects the frontline healthcare workers from getting exposed to the coronavirus as well as decreases the need for medical personnel as robots can partially take over some medical roles. The aim of this paper is to highlight the emerging role of robotic applications in the healthcare sector and allied areas. To this end, a systematic review was conducted regarding the various robots that have been implemented worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic to attenuate and contain the virus. The results obtained from this study reveal that the implementation of robotics into the healthcare field has a substantial effect in controlling the spread of SARS-CoV-2, as it blocks coronavirus propagation between patients and healthcare workers, along with other advantages such as disinfection or cleaning.

Objective: To determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare workers and healthcare students in higher education and to assess their clinical knowledge, media use, risk perception, perception of governmental measures, and adherence to preventive guidelines to provide policymakers with field-based evidence. Methods: This cross-sectional quantitative survey was conducted by two-stage cluster sampling among Swiss healthcare workers, who performed patient care during the first pandemic wave, and who also pursued an education at a university of applied sciences at the same time (a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing or an executive degree in healthcare). 75 individuals participated between 5th May and 1st June 2020. Their data was analyzed by bivariate hypothesis testing and multiple logistic regression. Results: Considerable levels of task-related and emotional stress were prevalent, accompanied by a large proportion of respondents who did not have sufficient protective materials or necessary decisions in place to effectively protect themselves or others from infection with COVID-19. Knowledge was considerably limited, especially regarding the efficacy of standard hygiene as a preventive measure. The preparation of the government and the healthcare sector was perceived as insufficient. Conclusions: Comprehensive management of infodemic challenges and foresighted development of education, human resources, clinical processes, and protective materials are highly recommended.

The U.S. vaccine campaign against COVID-19 began in December 2020, but many individuals seem reluctant to get vaccinated. During the first week of the vaccination campaign, we collected data from 1017 individuals with an online survey to identify factors that were associated with willingness to get the vaccine once it is available. Most participants (55.3%) were willing to get the vaccine, although 46.2% also expressed some fear of the vaccine. Political ideology was by far the most consistent predictor of both willingness to be vaccinated and fear of the vaccine, followed by participant sex, education level, income, and race/ethnicity. Our findings suggest that, for the vaccine campaign to be broadly supported and successful, it will be important for frontline healthcare workers to discuss the role of inoculation for COVID-19 in a manner consistent with each individual patient’s political and sociological worldview.

Special attention should be paid to the planning of human resources in health care, since this problem in the healthcare sector is quite urgent at present (there is a gradual decrease in nursing and medical personnel). The purpose of this study is to determine the role of staffing in the context of protection of reproductive health of the younger generation in the Russian Federation. The main analytical base of the research was statistical data and materials of domestic and foreign literary sources, periodicals, including various electronic resources. Research methods included: statistical method, study and generalization of experience, content analysis. In the course of the study, the issues of staffing with specialists in the conditions of protecting the reproductive health of the younger generation in the Russian Federation were analyzed, taking into account comparable indicators in the general structure of medical and mid-level medical personnel of various specialties; the experience of specialists in obstetrics and urological and andrological service has been studied, taking into account the resource capabilities of medical organizations. One of the main directions in the study of reproductive health is timely prevention, especially on the basis of antenatal clinics or health centers, medical prevention centers. Thus, we can conclude that staffing in the framework of the protection of adolescents’ reproductive health plays an important role, while in order to improve the situation with the participation of the state, it is necessary to revise and work out new programs for the development of human resources potential in health care, as well as to create adequate conditions for their implementation at various hierarchical levels of management, including the introduction of additional measures for social support and advanced training of specialists in this profile.

Introduction: On March 11th 2020, the World Health Organization declared the infection of the virus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or SARS-COV-2 a pandemic. The virus, which was first discovered in China in Wuhan province in December 2019, has affected more than 100 million people and more than two million deaths in more than 200 countries.Along with other epidemics and pandemics, the existence of this virus has led to psychiatric disorders in people in or without direct contact with the disease, especially frontline healthcare workers. Objective: To assess the impact of the virus on medical personnel working in Morocco, in particular stress, depression and sleep disorders. Methodology: To explore this topic, we used an anonymity questionnaire based on, in addition to individual status and conditions, scales assessing stress, depression and sleep. The questionnaire was sent via social networks to health personnel working in Morocco in the various hospitals and departments treating patients infected with this virus. The CES-D (Center of Epidemiological Studies - Depression) scales for depression, the PSS-10 (Cohens Perceived Stress Scale) for perceived stress and ISI (C. Morins Insomnia Severity Index) for disorders of sleep, were chosen given their frequent use in a number of studies on the same topic. Results: After sorting our responsesrigorously, we were able to collect 376 responses, of which 53.5% were women, with an average age of 28.45 years, 23.9% were nurses, 14.4% general practitioners, 19, 7% of internal doctors 37.2% of residents or specialists and 4.8% occupied other functions such as medical transport. 66% of our candidates were at the level of the different university hospital centers of Morocco. Our candidates respectively occupied 39.1% 28.2% 29% and 25.8% triage positions, observation of suspected cases, the COVID sector and resuscitation.Regarding our results, it was observed that 71% of our participants presented moderate stress, 44.9% had a risk of developing depression and 53.7 had insomnia of varying severity. The female sex, the lack of medical, surgical and psychiatric history influence the occurrence of the three abnormalities studied, it should also be noted that these last three maintain a relationship of influences between them. Conclusion: The exploration of stress, depression and insomnia revealed an impact of the state of health on the daily life of front-line health workers in Morocco.

Protective gears are recommended for airborne diseases transmitted through small particles (droplets), for this reason, the term “PPE” has become popular and much spoken of since the outbreak of COVID-19. PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment (Osha, 2019). PPE is used in most professions where the potential risk of contracting the deadly virus is high. The focus of this article will be on the healthcare sector and what significant role PPE plays in combating COVID_19 pandemic. To continually contribute to the literature, this article seeks to address how incomplete PPE can affect and increase the risk of contracting the deadly virus. Healthcare workers such as doctors, nurses, and caregivers have been and still are in the frontline fighting the COVID_19 virus, as a result, there is the need for a complete PPE including hair covering, face shields and surgical masks, to help keep them safe from contracting this transferable virus.

This study focused on frontline healthcare workers’ engagement level, since they are confronting multiple challenges during the COVID-19 outbreak. It was significant to study how spirituality breeds resilience and engagement in prevailing critical scenarios. The study also investigates the significant role of psychosocial safety climate (PSC). A cross-sectional online survey of 233 healthcare professionals was collected in Pakistan. By using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), this study tests the research hypotheses. The findings suggest that spirituality plays an essential role in effecting resilience and engagement of healthcare workers. The resilience, in fact, mediates the effect of spirituality on work engagement. In addition, PSC proved to be a strong moderator in the relationship of spirituality and resilience. Implications and future recommendations are discussed.
