Conducting community services is about building rapport, relationship, and linkages to the community.  Since service is one of the core values of EAC-Cavite, it is very significant that the neighboring community shall benefit from the community outreach programs conducted by its various schools or departments.   This study focuses on the evaluation of the outreach programs of EAC-Cavite in Bgry. San Agustin, Dasmarinas, Cavite. It uses the qualitative-descriptive method of research utilizing the survey questionnaire, observation, and impact evaluation approach.  The results of the study revealed that 48% of the respondents were very satisfied, 33% were satisfied, and 6% were somewhat satisfied in the programs.  On the other hand, there were also some problems encountered by the proponents during the actual conduct of these programs, thus, these inspired the researchers to come up with a 5-year development plan to improve the services and its program of activities. It is therefore recommended to continue to move on and reach out for the sustainable development of the community focusing more on the areas of education, health, environment, and socio-economic development. Finally, every program should be evaluated immediately to find out its strengths and weaknesses and to address all the problems encountered before, during, and after the activity using the impact evaluation approach.

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic brought about worldwide challenges and had a profound impact on family dynamics, relationships and routines. At the same time, the impact may differ largely due to regional differences in the numbers of infections and severity of preventive measures, as well as individual and contextual risk and protective factors. The aims of this special issue were therefore to (1) provide insight into the impact of the pandemic on the family system and (2) increase our understanding of how this impact may differ between families. This special issue consists of 13 original empirical studies that show how the pandemic affected families across different levels of the family system. At first sight, it seems that many families were able to cope relatively well with the stressors. Yet, for others the demands of the pandemic and pandemic-related measures seemed to exceed their capabilities and available resources. Importantly, the studies in this special issue suggest that the pandemic disproportionally affected children, caregivers and families who were already at risk. Together, the contributions to the special issue offer knowledge on the consequences of both the pandemic and preventive measures on family functioning. At the same time it also raises questions on the long-term impact of the pandemic and its impact on families who are currently underrepresented in empirical research.

Tegaren village is the biggest besek producer in Trenggalek, East Java. In collaboration with UPN "Veteran" of East Java, the people of Tegaren then developed an educational tourism that made besek as the main tourist attraction. Using the asset based community development (ABCD) method, leadership, and tourist gaze 3.0, the research team sought to make a scientific contribution to the development of the Tegaren’s tourism. After proceeding for one year, Tegaren’s people, especially women who made besek, began to feel the impact of improving the quality of life by the existence of a tourism village. There are three scientific arguments why besek, or bamboo, is used as the backbone of the development of the Tegaren’s tourism and later we call it as bamboonomic, namely 1) bamboo and besek have long been one of the heart of Tegaren’s life, 2) the tourism which was built based on natural assets and cultural assets creates ways of feeling as conceived in tourist gaze 3.0, and 3) this tourism is able to bring up and come up with leadership that brings Tegaren more advanced and prosperous. Keywords: besek, asset based community development, tourism, village, bamboo

Intimate partner violence has been associated with long-term negative effects on mothers’ mental health status, use of positive parenting practices, and their children’s externalizing behavioral difficulties. Especially strong is the association between concurrent experiences of partner violence and maternal parenting. In this case study, we examined the impact of behavioral parent training on parenting and outcomes for a 6-year-old Latino diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). The family was participating in a larger study examining the implementation and cultural adaptations of an evidence-based parent training program, Helping the Noncompliant Child. Mother reported a history of domestic violence and ongoing abusive behavior from her intimate partner but only wanted services focused on addressing child’s behavioral difficulties and improving the quality of parent–child interactions. Adaptations included but were not limited to the translation of all intervention materials, extending the number of sessions focused on each parenting strategy, flexibility with regard to the location and time of therapy sessions, negotiating safe times for the family to participate in treatment, and case management. Parent reports of child behavior and parenting stress moved from the clinical range to the normal range from pre- to post-test. Mother also reported increased use of positive parenting practices. These data, along with closing semi-structured interviews, suggest that within the context of ongoing partner abuse, a mother’s parenting and her child’s behavior can be positively affected by parent training that is adapted and responsive to the context of their family’s situation.

The aim of the article is to present the results of studies carried out in Wielkopolska regarding the perception of security by local communities, declared priorities and the impact of public debate and the media on these priorities. The studies were carried out in the former administrative region of Konin in 2015, 2016 and 2017. As the analysis shows, the narrative regarding individual and collective threats presented by politicians and the media had a large impact on individual priorities. This is evident from the assessment of the threat to national security and the assessment of such phenomena as terrorism, immigrants or the possibility of aggression from the East. With regard to individual security and changing priorities in this area, the impact of stabilization resulting from the implementation of social programs of the Law and Justice Party, with a special focus on the “Family 500 plus” program, is clearly noticeable. The results of the studies explicitly recommend their continuation in the years to come.

The impact of musculoskeletal disorders on work is demanding more attention from all stakeholders, including clinicians and policy-makers. Musculoskeletal disorders are the most frequently cited reason for absence from work and there is a need for new approaches and attitudes to assess and reduce the burden. For many rheumatologists, inflammatory arthritis is the most frequently encountered condition that interferes with work. However, the cumulative burden of non-inflammatory arthropathies and disorders such as back pain, osteoarthritis, and limb pain as a whole, results in a much greater economic and human cost to society than inflammatory disease. As the incidence of these conditions increases with age and as working lives extend, there will be many more employees with musculoskeletal problems in years to come. Significantly, new information supports the view that work loss need not be a consequence of a musculoskeletal disorder or disability. This presents an achievable challenge to everyone and underlines the importance of a biopsychosocial and interdisciplinary approach involving interaction between those with a musculoskeletal condition, clinicians, employers, and policy-makers. This chapter outlines the challenges (i.e. the size of the problem and reasons for work restriction) and opportunities to reduce the burden of musculoskeletal conditions on work. It draws on the results of empirical studies to highlight potential targets to reduce work restriction.

Cassava, one of the staple foods of Indonesian people beside rice and sago, is promoted by the government as rice consumption replacements, together with corn, sago or potatoes. Cassava is indeed very easy to plant in all types of land, as in Krajan Hamlet, Blimbing Village, Dolopo District, Madiun Regency where almost every house has cassava plants on its garden. This fact encourages the engagement team to take the initiative to provide training of creative cassava processing. This activity aims to increase the economical value of cassava, which is one of the assets in the Krajan Hamlet, and is expected to be able to increase the family income, most of which are former migrant workers. Through the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method with some of its tools, found that the innovative and creative cassava process training in the form of "Si Engkong" cake can provide new insights and knowledge about cassava processing that have high selling points within the community. With a better processing of cassava, "Si Engkong" cake is expected to become a new trade commodity for the residents of Krajan Hamlet and its surroundings, so that it can raise the community's economy level. Keywords: ABCD, cassava processing, economical value, processed cassava, training   Abstrak Singkong, salah satu makanan pokok masyarakat Indonesia selain nasi dan sagu, dipromosikan oleh pemerintah sebagai pengganti konsumsi beras, bersama dengan jagung, sagu atau kentang.
