A survey was conducted to assess the nutritional status of children (0-6 years) among 40 Anganwadis in 4 districts of Kerala State registered under the ICDS scheme. A self- prepared structured interview schedule was used. To get the qualitative information of the study anthropometric measures include height and weight were used for assessing nutritional status of the children. The stepwise analysis of two variables height for age and weight for age was applicable on the basis of Waterlow’s and Gomez’ classification. To examine the relationship between nutritional status of the child and selected variable that affects nutritional status of children, Chi-square test was employed. Based on Gomez’ classification, out of 400 children, only 300 (75.0%) of children received supplementary nutrition through ICDS out of which 250 (62.5%) children were normal while 50 (12.5%) were underweight. Based on Waterlow’s classification out of 400 children, only 290 (72.5%) of children received supplementary nutrition through ICDS out of these children 200 (50 %) were normal while 90 (22.5%) were stunted. It can thus be concluded that majority of children were normal who received supplementary nutrition through ICDS.

Nutrition is one of the determinants of the human resources’ quality. Food served daily have to fit nutrients as needed, so it may support optimal growth and can prevent deficiency diseases, prevent poisoning, and also help prevent diseases that can interfere to children's growth. The attitude of mother in providing nutritional supplementary for children is something that can determine how to behave in providing food supplementary and family nutrition, especially for toddlers. Toddler period is characterized by a very rapid growth and development process and is accompanied by changes that require more nutrients in high quality. Food consumption has an important role in the physical growth and intelligence of children so that food consumption has a major effect on the nutritional status of children to achieve the physical growth and intelligence of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship among knowledge, attitudes and behavior of mothers to the nutritional status of children under five/toddlers at (Unit of Technical Implementation) UPT Public Health Centre (Puskesmas) Ajangale. This type of research is descriptive correlational research. The number of samples was 40 mothers who had toddlers. The research analysis used bivariate test. Based on the results of the study showed that there was a relationship between mothers’ knowledge in nutrition and the nutritional status of toddlers with the chi square test results obtained p-value = 0.001 p <0.05. And there is a relationship between mother's attitude and nutritional status of toddlers with the chi square test results obtained p-value = 0.001 p <0.05. And there is a relationship between mothers’ behavior and the nutritional status of children under five/toddlers with the chi square test results obtained p-value = 0.001 p <0.05. Background: Nutritional status is the best indicator of the child health. Malnutrition has both short and long term adverse ramifications. As per NFHS III 47% children are stunted in the state of Chhattisgarh. However still many communities in the tribal dominated and naxal affected state may remain affected, hence the study was planned to identify the nutritional status of children and find out its determinant. Methods: Present cross-sectional study was conducted among 12-59 months children in the urban slum of Jagdalpur city, Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Predesigned and pretested questionnaire was administered to the caregiver of the child, information on socio-demographic characteristics was obtained and anthropometric measurements were taken. Statistical Analysis: all frequencies were derived for completeness of data. WHO Anthro Software version 3.1.0 was used to classify the malnutrition status. Chi-square test was applied to find association between dependent variables. Results: Out of 225 children 53.3% were boys and 46.7% were girls. The overall prevalence of underweight stunting and wasting was 28.4%, 41.3%, and 19.1% respectively. Conclusions: Prevalence of underweight has reduced in the district over a period of years. However high level of stunting, a sign of chronic hunger points towards the pivotal role of socio-demographic and behavioral practices prevalent in the district. Interaction with health system in the form of ANC, institutional delivery and safeguarding effective 100% immunization coverage has shown preventive effect.

Kata kunci: status gizi balita, diareAbstractMalnutrition in children is still a major health problem in the world. Data from WHO in 2010 showed 18% of children under five years old in developing countries are underweight. Malnutrition may increase the risk of infectious disease because the immune system is decreased. Otherwise, infectious disease can also affect the nutritional status because of decreased food intake, malabsorption, and increased body catabolism. This study aimed to determine association between diarrhea and nutritional status of children. The study was an observational study with cross sectional design. The population is mother and children aged 12- 60 months residing in Lubuk Buaya Village. There are 145 samples taken with proportionate random sampling method. Data were collected with questionnaire to determine the history of diarrhea in the last month and weighing. The data were processed with chi square test by using SPSS 17.0 program. Results of univariate analysis showed that there are children with good nutritional status (84,1%), underweight (13,8%), and poor nutritional status (2,1%). There are 25,5% children had diarrhea with average duration of illness 3,0 days. Results of bivariate analysis showed no significant association between diarrhea and nutritional status (weight/age) of children in Lubuk Buaya Village (p = 0,742). This study showed no association between diarrhea and nutritional status of children in Lubuk Buaya Village, Koto Tangah Subdistrict, Padang City. Keywords: nutritional status of children, diarrhea

Children under the age of five or under five are a group that is prone to nutrition, because they are prone to malnutrition due to lack of food needed. Malnutrition in children will cause decreased immunity, which means that the ability to defend themselves against bacterial infection decreases. Children who have less nutritional status have the potential to suffer from pyoderma. Lack of the amount of food consumed both in quality and quantity can reduce the nutritional status of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of pyoderma in toddlers (1-5 years) in Kuok Village, the working area of Puskesmas Kuok in 2020. This study used an analytical research design with a case control design. The sample in this study were 62 children (1-5 years). 31 samples for the case group and 31 samples for the control group. data collection through questionnaires. Data processing used univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of pyoderma in toddlers (1-5 years) with p value = 0.001. By holding this research, the researchers expected parents of toddlers to pay more attention to the nutritional status of their children in order to avoid infectious diseases such as pyoderma.
