The article presents research data on the attitude of gifted children aged 9-10 years to different ages, their ideas about the future, setting short-and long-term goals. There is a great creative potential of giftedness, but how much it will be realized when reaching maturity depends not only on cognitive sphere, but also on the characteristics of the personality. The psychological literature contains contradictory information about the personal characteristics of gifted children; there is very little data on such aspect of personal development as orientation to the future, which determines the relevance and novelty of the study. The study involved 96 children with IQ≥115, enrolled in grades 3 and 4 of the gymnasium for gifted children, and 104 children enrolled in grades 3 and 4 of the secondary school under the traditional program (Moscow). We used the modified method of B. Zazzo “Golden age”, the projective method “Unfinished sentences” and the method of M.V. Matyukhina, which allows us to determine educational motivation in primary school age. It is shown that the majority of primary school children prefer youth as the age period of maximum opportunities. Gifted children are less likely than their peers with normative intellectual development to set short-range goals of good and excellent studies, self-improvement in activities that require physical effort, and more goals related to filling the lack of emotional support. The area of long-range goals related to youth is wider for younger students. Gifted children have a more pronounced orientation to high material security and freedom in its various manifestations, to a lesser extent – to the traditional construction of life (work, family, children).

Intellectual development in the life of a teenager must be balanced with good values, morals and morals. Children who do not have a harmonious relationship with their parents in childhood are unlikely to be able to develop super egos that are strong enough, so they can be people who often violate social norms. Independence and moral maturity always put forward in every behavior in every life. The ability that exists in a child's life makes them able to have good morals and attitudes in the future. A person's basic personality is formed in childhood. The processes of development that occur in a child coupled with what is experienced and accepted during the time of his children gradually enable him to grow and develop into an adult human. It is hoped that parents can get to know the growth and development of their sons and daughters as early as possible to find the possibility of abnormalities or deviations in development. The existence of cooperation and a joint approach by experts from various sciences and activities will greatly help the development of children. And the most important point is the parents who are most responsible in developing the overall existence of children, including here physical and psychological needs, so that children can grow and develop towards a harmonious and mature personality.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate to what extent secondary school students’ interest in intellectual development influences key abilities necessary to cope with the future of work. In the ever-changing world of work, deeply influenced by new technologies and cultural diversity in the workforce, young people must develop three essential traits to increase their capacity to quickly adapt to the situation in the labour market: openness to lifelong learning, critical thinking skills related to online information (of which online fact-checking is a key component) and openness to a multicultural society. In this paper, it is argued that these traits are directly related to young people’s interest in intellectual development but that additional interdependencies between these three traits complicate this equation. Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a survey of secondary school students in the 12th grade (N = 1221). A hypothesized conceptual model was tested with AMOS software for structural equation modelling. Findings The findings show that students who are more interested in intellectual development are more open to lifelong learning. The relationship between intellectualism and lifelong learning is also mediated by online fact-checking. Moreover, the higher the interest in lifelong learning, the higher the openness to multiculturality. There is, however, no direct relationship between interest in intellectual development and multiculturality. Practical implications The results of this study will help making recommendations to three key stakeholders: young people, teachers and policymakers. They could have a practical impact on the labour market in the future. Originality/value This paper examines a topic that has not been systematically studied, namely, the possible influence of intellectualism on the future of work. The findings highlight the possible negative effects of a lack of interest in intellectual development on lifelong learning, living and working in a multicultural environment and processing online information.

Having lived in Paris starting in the summer of 1919 at the latest, Nguyễn Ái Quốc committed himself to the struggle against colonization and joined forces with all those with allied objectives who could support his cause before drawing nearer to the French Communist Party in 1920. During the course of 1921, he learned of a group of French Protestants who hoped to undertake an exploratory mission in Indochina. In the letter that he addresses to the pastor pioneering the project, Nguyễn Ái Quốc clearly exposes the contradictions of a process that is doubtlessly laudable yet still quite contrary in nature, since evangelization was an accomplice to colonization. These research notes present an unpublished document that throws light on the intellectual development of the future Hồ Chí Minh on the numerous origins of Vietnamese Protestantism, and on the debates about colonization and evangelization occurring within French Protestantism.

Purpose: The relevance of the problem of professional development of teachers led to the emergence of a large number of publications on this topic in the literature. But these publications do not clarify this very complex phenomenon and do not encourage the emergence of new scientific problems. This has determined the research interest. It is based on the need to clarify idea of internal factors on an intrapersonal level that contribute to the effective professional development of future physical education and sport teachers. The purpose of the work is to study them. Methods: Study participants were students from four Physical Education Faculties (physical education, sports, physical therapy and tourism) of higher education in the field of physical education in Western Ukraine. A total of 356 students participated in the study of internal factors on an intrapersonal level. The choice of research sample was random, the age of students - 18-19 years old. We used the questionnaire to determine the correlation between the two signalling systems and to determine the temperamental characteristics of students. To gather and analyze data we used the quantitative method. Result: Result showed that the second signalling system dominates in the majority of surveyed students. Most of the students with the prevailing second signalling system belong to the faculty of tourism (74%). We have determined the average level of the intellectual development sphere for all students without any exceptions. The highest rates were identified for the students of physical therapy faculty. The future teachers of physical education and sport showed the lowest results in communicative sphere. This is insufficient for professional and pedagogical activity. This group of students showed the best development in psychomotor qualities, even though the results were on average level. In general, we have not determined any significant discrepancies in psychomotor, intellectual and communicative spheres of the future teachers of physical education and sports in comparison with the students of other areas of training. Conclusions: We have demonstrated that the properties of the various personality aspects of the future physical education and sports teacher in the intellectual and communication domains are insufficient for professional work. They require the development of targeted effective methods for professional education and psycho-pedagogical means of motivation. The results of internal factors of students’ personality professional development diagnostics are supported by compliance of their characterological features to the professional demands but also by the conscious professional interests.

The concept of «rhetorical competence of a philologist» is analyzed in the article. It is determined that the rhetorical training of students is a necessary component of the formation and development of the personality of the future specialist. However, for a future philologist this competence is professionally necessary. Based on the research of scholars on rhetorical competence, this concept is interpreted as a set of practical skills of a student of philology, who has learned the necessary block of theoretical knowledge and realizes it in reality, it allows him to successfully and effectively interact with other subjects. It is noted that a high level of rhetorical competence allows to achieve professional and life success, it is an indicator of intellectual development. The article emphasizes that rhetoric is not an independent subject in all universities, it is necessary to use elements of rhetoric in classes in higher education. Exercises and tasks that contribute to the formation of rhetorical competence are highlighted. It is noted that training exercises have a practical orientation and are intended to activate mental processes (memory, thinking, imagination, etc.), to improve speech and communication skills. Preparatory exercises help to reduce stress and overcome psychological barriers, distract and help to relax during the learning process. Analytical exercises help to train students ability to work with text, develop memory, analyze stylistic devices, structure information, etc. Creative (with the creation of own texts) and constructive (reconstruction of sentences, texts, etc.) exercises are productive in the training of philologist. Particular attention should be paid to the use of non-verbal means by students, including facial expressions, gestures. Equally important is the construction of dialogues, questions, the use of communicative exercises, games and situational tasks, because such tasks motivate students, arouse interest in learning, allow them to practice speech. The article emphasizes that working in groups, in pairs develops the ability of constructive dialogue, listen and hear the interlocutor, understand the position of the interlocutor, the ability to use verbal and nonverbal means, to overcome certain closeness in communication. Practical classes in the form of discussion, such as talk shows are important for the formation of rhetorical competence of future philologists. The authors summarize that rhetorical competence will make possible a high level of further professional self-education, will promote the realization of professional knowledge in productive and civilized ways of thinking and speaking.

The article analyzes teaching technologies as part of training for future teachers in higher educational establishments. In particular, it is noted that technology is a certain mechanism that should lead to the transformation of pedagogical reality and the entire system of higher education. Teaching technologies problems are a result of the recognition of pedagogical science separation from the practice by the university teachers. The term "teaching technology" should be used when there is a clear algorithmic sequence and guaranteed final result. Analysis of any teaching technology involves disclosing the relevant algorithm and explaining the criteria of the guaranteed result. The essence of teaching technology is to build a training system and develop a future teachers’ actions algorithm. The notion "teaching technology" is considered as a way of interaction between subjects of educational activities and part of future teachers’ training on the example of the course "Pedagogy", section "Theory of Education."The study notes that personally-oriented education involves a differentiated approach to learning, taking into account the level of intellectual development of the student, as well as his training on the subject, abilities and skills. The future teacher should become the central figure of the educational  process, his  cognitive activity should the centric one for educators-researchers, developers of educational programs and means of education, of administrative employees. The consistent implementation of the personally oriented approach to the future teacher in the educational process is analyzed. It presupposes the integrity of his personality. It is emphasized that domestic universities should create conditions for the development of an individual who possesses the specified qualities. The solution to this problem will contribute not only to the content of education, but also to the innovative teaching technologies. Today there is need not only in the intramural, but also distance education. Electronic media (radio, television, and computers) are used as major source of information. Global telecommunication networks of the Internet are also important to get information. It has been determined that teaching and cognitive activity should be core in the tandem between teacher and student. The traditional paradigm of education teacher-textbook-student should be replaced by a new one: student-textbook-teacher.
