[The final form of this paper was published in the journal Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology.] In the digital technology era, mobile devices have an important rule to deploy a copy of data and information through the network. An electronic reader (eReader) allows readers to read written materials in an electronic manner that is available in many models. The objective of this study is to evaluate the usage of eReader by higher education students. We firstly identified the most frequently used eReader by surveying higher education students. The survey results showed that Apple iPad, Amazon Kindle, and Samsung Tablet are the most popular eReader devices used by higher education students. We presented these results, and then we analyzed the surveyed results in detail in order to develop an evaluation metric of the eReader in a mobile platform that clearly allows the selection of the most suitable eReader for higher education students. The main contribution of this paper is the development of a set of criteria that can be used by students in the selection of an eReader that matches their specific needs and requirements.

The Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science is the eighth Polish normative act of statutory rank since 1920 to deal with matters concerning the title of professor, not counting separate acts and their amendments. It is also the first act based on the regulations in force before 1965 to regulate in a single act matters of higher education and science. Despite their new formulation, not all of the solutions implemented by this Act imply a full withdrawal from the regulations adopted in previous years. What is absolutely new in it, however, is the simplification of the procedure and conditions of the proceedings for conferring the title of professor through: (1) a new definition of fields of science (arts) and scientific disciplines (artistic disciplines) based, following the OECD classification, on the two-tier qualification of sciences (with some exceptions); (2) the constitution of the Council for Scientific Excellence, as a new institution, as of 1 January 2021 exclusively endowed with the right to initiate proceedings for the conferment of the title of professor (including refusal) and the subsequent process, ending with a positive or negative decision of that Council. Other solutions of this law have been subject to broader or narrower changes or have been retained in their current wording. Those of such a nature constitute answers to the following questions: (1) On whom may the title of professor be conferred, and in relation to whom, despite meeting the requirements for it, is this unacceptable, for other statutory reasons?; (2) What requirements does the legislator expect from a candidate for this academic title, and to what extent do the expectations placed on them – outstanding scientific (artistic) achievements – go beyond the framework of the previously binding standards in this regard?; (3) What determines the selection of candidates for reviewers in this procedure, and what is the procedure for selecting them?; (4) What are the conditions for a candidate’s legal protection against negative decisions by the Council for Scientific Excellence, taking into account (5) the conditions for the President of the Republic of Poland’s participation in this procedure, which have remained unchanged since 1990?

In the judgment with commentaries, the Provincial Administrative Court in Opole made a statement concerning the penalty of expulsion from a higher education institution as a disciplinary penalty declared only by disciplinary committees. From the point of view of the judgment with commentaries, it is of importance to specify that this penalty is not of “life-long” nature, nor dśs it result in deprivation of the right to study in other institutions. The author approves of the position held by the judgment with commentaries and claims it to be an accurate and significant voice of the judiciary, which may prove substantial in eliminating legal ambiguities (and absurdities) arising as a result of applying the provisions of law in regard to responsibilities of higher education students, drawing attention to the incomplete and insufficient form of the provision of the relevant legal regulation.

Introduction. One of the most important components of the student-centered education concept is to give higher education students the right to independent- ly choose a certain part of the academic disciplines of the educational program, i.e. to implement their individual educational trajectory. Today, there are seven types of models for implementing the individual educational trajectory of a higher education seeker. However, the question remains which model to choose when creating an educational program. Purpose. Critical analysis of models of realization of individual educational trajectory of a higher education seeker. The methods of logical analysis and a systematic approach are used in the article for critical analysis of mod- els of realization of individual educational trajectory of a higher education seeker Results. The article critically analyzes seven models of implementation of individual educational trajectory of a higher education seeker, selected depending on the methodology used to form a variable part of the individual plan: a model that provides a completely free choice of educational components; a model of free choice within a certain set of educational components; a model of choice of educational components in continuous blocks; a model that provides a combination of free choice and continuous blocks; major-minor model; a model based on the concept of "mobility window", as well as a model that provides a combination of the above models. Examples of formation of individual educational trajectory with application of these models are given. Their main advantages and dis- advantages are identified. Conclusion. It is proved that there is no "universal" model of implementation of the principle of selectivity, which would be the most effective for all possible educa- tional programs. When designing each educational program, it is necessary to justify the choice of the model according to which the seeker will make the choice of disciplines. This choice will be different in each case depending on the characteristics of the industry, specialty, the available capabilities of the institution of higher education, in particular in the direction of international cooperation and so on. At the same time, the main criterion for choosing a model for implementing the principle of selectivity should be the quality of training, its competitiveness in the labor market and compliance with the principles of student-centered approach

— Currently, higher education must open their mindset to change the learning process. This process cannot still stay on a conventional process that only involved students and lecturers as learning participants because to capture what the current industry needs and the trend of knowledge, higher education institutions must collaborate with external parties as learning partners to give a global perspective about the industrial needs and trends. The process to identify a learning partner to contribute to the learning process is not easy way. The higher education institution must select which partner has appropriate skills and competency suitable for the subject’s course. Many parameters will be involved in the selection process to identify the right partner. In this proposed system, external parties in this context consist of professionals or educators from the external institution easily can be defined to be selected as learning partners based on their competency and experience, that listed on social media LinkedIn as a professional platform. The method to build this interactive recommender system in this study is based on design science research that identifies step by step design stage to propose the best way solution for the recommender system. The result of this study is an interactive recommender system that can help higher education to find out the best candidate for their learning partner so the collaboration of learning can be implemented effectively

The process of selecting a college should be based on the capabilities and needs of the community. When society is faced with a large selection of college criteria and most societies are confused about choosing the appropriate college for themselves and the job demands. From this it was made a decision support system aimed at helping the community to choose a college that suits the ability and demands of the work. Decision support system plays a role in helping people get the right recommendations in the selection of universities. This decision support system is also designed to help the community to choose a college that suits their needs so that the public is not confused because of the many criteria of universities faced by the community because the admin already has recommendations according to the needs of the community by using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method.
