In the context of economic downturn, Russian households seek to preserve their savings by investing them on local housing market. The research shows a decrease in the newly-built apartment’s average size that leads to the suggestion that apartment purchases on Russian housing market are in many cases investments by their nature. On the example of the Tomsk primary housing market, we reveal that small-sized apartments as an investment medium has sufficiently high quality characteristics which ensures their liquidity. The availability of investments is guaranteed by reducing the size of an apartment.

The quality of products represents one of the key aims of any modern organized production. In the production practice, it is essential to establish the optimal relationship between quality, production economy and delivery deadlines. Furniture quality is evaluated by three levels and they are: basic quality, high quality and especially high quality. The results presented in this paper are based on the sample measurements of chairs and tables during 2007 and 2008 at the Institute for Furniture Quality Control.

Application of nondestructive sorting of fruits can be direct or indirect. Direct applications involve mainly objective means of establishing grades and quality of fruits and vegetables, as well as use of light-sorting and other nondestructive means for determining when a crop should be harvested or whether it should be marketed fresh or processed immediately. Indirect applications might be termed “research” usage of nondestructive sorting. Plant breeders would find nondestructive techniques useful for rapidly evaluating quality characteristics during the development of high quality cultivars. Physiologists could utilize it to rapidly determine the effects of treatments upon the quality of the commodity. Examples of development of techniques of light-sorting of blueberries and grapes for ripeness are discussed.

The high quality micro diamonds with the euhedral diamond faces are fabricated by hot filament chemical vapor deposition technique (HFCVD). The high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) single crystal diamonds in size of 1 μm are used as seeds. In order to disperse the diamond seeds uniformly on a silicon wafer, the photoresist solution with diamond seeds are performed on the silicon wafer by a spin coater machine. The high substrate temperature and low acetone concentration are employed for decreasing the nucleation rate and accelerating the growth rate. The morphology and quality of the micro diamonds are observed and analyzed by SEM and Raman spectroscopy. After 4 hours of the deposition, the surface imperfections of the diamond seeds have disappeared completely, and the euhedral diamond faces with (111) and (100) begin to emerge. Subsequently, 8 hours of deposition leads to a final average size of approximately 4 μm. The micro diamonds have very high quality, and the surfaces appear flat and smooth in this stage. The results indicate that it is an effective way to eliminate the defects of the HPHT micro diamonds and develop high quality diamonds with well-defined morphology by HFCVD technique.

The chapter presents the importance of providing high quality e-learning and the need to apply the requirements of the standards from ISO 9000 series for continual improvement of the quality management systems in education. The work applies the main principles for multiple criteria decision making. An approach for satisfaction measurement is developed. It uses weighting coefficients as qualitative valuation of the importance of the quality characteristics and numerical valuation for the level of satisfaction with the quality characteristics. The suggested approach is suitable to apply for different purposes in education in order to achieve high quality e-learning. It is also suitable to apply to different areas within quality management systems.

The Piemontese breed is reputed to produce high quality carcasses, but its potential in U.K. beef production systems is unknown. Data from the United States on crossbred progeny (Cundiff et al., 1990) and from Italy on both pure breeds (La Carne Bovina, 1988) and crossbreds (Gigli et al., 1990) shown the Piemontese to be a light boned, low fat, high meat yield breed with a high dressing out proportion. Furthermore the meat quality data show that it produced the most tender meat of all breeds tested and this was achieved at a low marbling fat content. This trial compares the performance of Piemontese x Friesian and Charolais x Friesian steers and heifers when fed on an indoor silage beef system. The meat quality characteristics of the carcasses produced are reported elsewhere (Fisher et al., 1992).

Tolerance design plays a very important in any manufacturing process because this activity directly influences products cost and quality. In design activity the designer solve the quality problems selecting tight tolerances for components but this generates cost increasing. The practical problem is to assure the high quality characteristics using the maximum tolerances for components that influence them. The paper’s aim is to find optimal parameters setting which assure the desire value of quality characteristics using the DoE (Design of Experiments), and to find a mathematical model and a respective quality characteristic function of the parameters that it was influenced. Using the mathematical function, by imposing the desired tolerance for quality characteristic, it will be allocated the optimal tolerance for components. This tolerance allocation will be verified using Monte-Carlo method.

The COVID-19 spread gradually throughout the country in the Spring Festival around 2020, leading to economic downturn and more severe employment situation in colleges. Multiple difficulties and challenges, such as the reduction of employment posts, the delay of graduation progress, the change of recruitment forms and the psychological anxiety of college students, lead to the huge employment pressure for college graduates. We can cultivate the comprehensive ability of students by means of informatization management, such as broadening employment channels, ensuring graduation on time, improving employment policies and rebuilding psychology of college students. In this way, the high quality of employment work in Colleges can be ensured. Scientific measures should be taken to deal with the impact of the epidemic on employment.

What triggered the crash of the U.S. housing market? This analysis looks at the economic and industry forces that led to an economic downturn that put as many as half of all U.S. residential builders out of business. Since the Great Depression, the U.S. housing market has significantly influenced economic production and employment levels. Direct and indirect investments in the housing industry, along with the induced economic activities such as real estate transactions and construction as well as other factors, accounted for an estimated 15-20% of GDP during boom years (CBPP, 2012). The burst of the $8 trillion housing bubble in 2007 and the subsequent collapse of the financial markets in 2008 created massive disarray in homebuilding (Bivens, 2011). As many as 50% of homebuilders closed their doors, either voluntarily or through bankruptcy filings (Quint, 2015). Concurrently, from 2006 through 2012, the Great Recession resulted in the loss of over $7 trillion of home equity (Gould Ellen, 2012). Over 24 percent of home mortgages went “underwater” with balances exceeding home values (Carter & Gottschalck, n.d.). For some homeowners, the unfortunate thought of losing their homes through foreclosure and incurring disruption to family life became a reality. The stress from threats of the loss of a home, unemployment, and depletion of savings exacted a great toll on many. Not since the Great Depression has the U.S. economy faced forces so devastating to the housing market and personal wealth.

The issue of high-quality root canal treatment in deciduous and permanent teeth is currently highly relevant. There is a huge variety of tools, devices, and medicines that can be used for working with the root canals. It is often the case that in the dental market medical products of various quality characteristics are being offered for a certain manipulation, leaving consumers face to face with a tough choice of what to buy to obtain good results. According to the English-language literature review, evaluation of the technical characteristics of endodontic needles and the results of their use in practice showed a rather large number of negative aspects, which outlines the need to find the ways of endodontic needle refinement.
