Islamic bank, as an alternative financial institution, is now widely accepted and has been established in various countries. In Indonesia, Islamic bank was first established in 1992 along with the revival of Islam in the country. Previously, the establishment of Islamic bank in Indonesia was hindered not because of economical reason but because of a political stigma associated with Islam especially during the 1970s. The purpose of this article is to explore how the bank makes innovations to increase its performance that makes its legitimacy high on the eyes of its stakeholders. The article also discusses the various regulations and roles of central bank and the Indonesian government in ensuring control and good governance and subsequently into further developing the Islamic and shariah banking system in Indonesia.DOI: 10.15408/ajis.v16i1.2898

The research is a Case Study of Troubled Financing Handling at BMT Hubbul Wathon in the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. In collecting data, researchers used interview techniques with BMT about policies to deal with the economic crisis during the Covid-19 Pandemic. BMT Hubbul Wathon Sumowono is one of the non-bank syari'ah financial institutions that issues a lot of financing products, such as Mudharabah, Musyarakah, Murabahah, and Ijarah financing. In providing financing to customers, an agreement is made in the BMT institution, in which there are several provisions that must be agreed upon by both parties. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, BMT Hubbul Wathon experienced a decrease in both savings, financing and installments. In the Covid-19 Pandemic as well, problematic financing at BMT Hubbul Wathon Sumowono increased by 5% when compared to the financing provided before the Covid-19 Pandemic. Therefore, this non-bank syari'ah financial institution issued several measures or policies including maintaining liquidity, restrictions in providing financing, and also by adding new customer members.

Sharia Financial Services Cooperative (KJKS) is a form of cooperative whose business activities are engaged in financing, investment, and deposits in accordance sharia principles. in relation to financial services in the form of such financing, in this case the Sharia Financial Services Cooperative (KJKS) will be faced with several risks, among others, is the risk of default on financing channeled and the existence of fraud action (fraud) committedby the management of the financial institution. The object of this research is KSPS BMT ABC Branch KLM-Surabaya.on the object of the study found that the total gross NPF until December 2016 reached 81.84%, in addition to the impact of high levels of Gross NPF is a loss to be borne until December 2016 amounted to Rp 354.715.664. Based on the results of pre-research interview with Mr. Muhammad stated that the cause of the loss due to there are two factors namely the existence of fraud (misconduct) in the form of misuse of funds by former employees and handling financing problems that can be optimally 30% of total troubled financing. The purpose of this study is to determine the cause of the non-optimal handling of troubled financing. Things that need to be reviewed in the process of handling pembiyaan problem is based on the phenomenon that occurs in the object of research. This research uses qualitative method with exploratory case study strategy. The results of research conducted by the researchers found that KSPS BMT ABC Branch KLM-Surabaya Assistant has a concept of mixing handling of non-performing financing based on standard operating procedures with the handling of troubled financing based on kinship.Keywords: Troubled Financing, Troubled Financing Handling, Fraud

This research is done to see any risks that happened in Islamic bank, which can damage the bank. While it aims to find out the strategy used by Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI) to reduce the risk faced and often happened in the field. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collecting was done by relating proposed questions and the conclusion made from the result of the interview with Branch Manager (BM), Relation Manager, and Remedial BMI of Branch Office of Mas Mansyur. The result of this research showed that BMI of Mas Mansyur Branch Office had done the process of risk management by identifying risk in the manner of finding out the existing risks which are financing risk; market risk; and ownership risk, measuring and monitoring the risks in the manner of doing measurement to find out and see any reason that causes those risks exist, and controlling and managing the existing risks in Musyarakah Mutanaqisah (MMQ) financing in the manner of ways that have already determined by BMI of Mas Mansyur Branch Office. This study aims to describe the agribusiness partnership process that takes place in Kampung Kucai, analyze the income of chives farming, and the perception of chives farmers on the partnership process in Garum District, Blitar Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach in the form of a case study. Informants in this study were partner chives farmers in Kampung Kucai. Determination of the sample of plasma partner farmers was carried out by purposive sampling method. Informants were selected based on secondary data from the core and information from farmers. So the sample used for Kucai Mitra farmers is 20 people. In addition, there are also 5 key informants. The methods of data collection carried out in this study are of several types, namely structured interviews, in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The data analysis method used in this researchis descriptive analysis,  income analysis, and Likert analysis. The results showed that the type of partnership between the Financial Institution "Bank BRI" and the partner chives farmers was classified as a nucleus-plasma partnership pattern. In the mechanism of the partnership pattern of the Financial Institution "BRI Bank" with the Kucai Farmer Group, it is carried out based on a partnership agreement. The agreement letter contains the identities of the two partnering parties and the rules given by "Bank BRI" as well as the location or planting area. The total income from chives farming is Rp. 242,000, -. The income of chives farming can be taken by women farmers once a month at the monthly member meeting in the Women Farmers Group or can be saved in advance. If they are saved, usually the women farmers in the research location will take the income before the Eid al-Fitr. The perception of partner chives farmers on the planning of partnership implementation is 80% or very good, the perception of partner chives farmers on the partnership process is 78% or quite good, and the perception of the evaluation of the partnership is very good with 85% results. So that the results of the Likert analysis on the average perception of partner chives farmers on the partnership process with financial institutions "Bank BRI" have a very good category with a percentage of 80% where the total score is 483.
