Abstract. Temperurate is one of the important parameter in the embryo development of fish; However, to date no information this effect on the Betta splendens. Hence, this study aims to determine the effect of temperature on egg hatchability and survival of betta fish larvae. Samples of betta fish used in this study are similar in size and from the same type of broodstock. A completely randomized design used with four treatments and three replications. The parameters observed were the process of egg development, fertilization rate, hatching rate, hatching duration, survival rate, and water quality (pH, DO, temperature). The results showed that the relation between temperature and fertilization rate was not significantly different, whereas the calculated F value (0.23) ˂ F table 0.05 (4.07). The relation between temperature and hatching rate has a very significant effect, F value (18.91) ˃ F table 0.05 (4.07). The relation of temperature to hatching time showed the same difference, and the relation of temperature to survival of betta fish (Betta spelendes) larvae is significant with F ¬ values (39.98) F table 0.05 (4.07). Water quality parameters during the study were pH 7 - 7.5, DO 5.0 - 7.7 ppm and temperature at 27 - 29 oC.Keywords: Betta fish eggs, temperature, embryogenesis Abstrak.  Suhu adalah salah satu faktor menentukak proses perkembangan embrio pada ikan, namun pengaruh ini belum pernah diamati pada ikan cupang Betta splendens. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu terhadap perkembangan embrio, daya tetas telur dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan cupang. Induk ikan cupang yang digunakan memiliki ukuran yang sama dan dari induk jenis yang sama. Adapun rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah rancangan acak non factorialdengan 4 perlakuan 3 kali ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah proses perkembangan telur, tingkat pembuahan telur, tingkat penetasan telur, lama penetasan telur, tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan kualitas air pH, DO, suhu ruangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan suhu terhadap tingkat pembuahan telur tidak berbedanyata, dimana nilai F hitung (0,23) ˂ F tabel 0,05 (4,07). Hubungan suhu terhadap tingkat penetasan telur berpengaruh sangat berbedanyata, dimana nilai F hitung (18,91) ˃ F tabel 0,05 (4,07). Hubungan suhu terhadap lama penetasan menunjukkan berbeda sama, dan hubungan suhu terhadap kelangsungan hidup berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup larva ikan cupang (Betta spelendes) dengan nilai F hitung (39,98) F tabel 0,05 (4,07). Parameter kualitas air selama penelitian rata-rata pH 7 – 7,5, DO 5,0 – 7,7 ppm dan suhu ruangan 27 – 29 oC.Kata kunci: Telur ikan cupang, suhu, embriogenesis

This study aims to determine the effect of different temperatures and stocking densities and the hatching rate of Gouramy eggs with Experimental Design of Factorial Complete Randomized Design The main treatments of temperature, including A1: Temperature 28ºC and A2: Temperature 30ºC. The main treatment of stocking density includes B1: Stocking density of 10 pcs/liters and B2: Stocking density of 20 pcs/liters. The results were obtained as follows: Different temperatures did not have a significant effect on the hatching rate of Gouramy eggs. Different stocking densities have a significant effect on the hatching rate of Gouramy eggs. The interaction of temperature and stocking density did not have a significant effect on the hatching rate of Gouramy eggs. From the results of measurements of water quality parameters obtained water temperature data 28 and 30 ° C, pH 7.3 - 8.5 and DO (dissolved oxygen) ranged from 4.68 to 5.00 ppm

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of natural  honey to male percentage of betta fish by masculinization. This researchwas conducted at FisheriesBasic Laboratory,  Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on January– February 2018. This research  usedcompletely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this research was4 day of betta fish larvae  that submersed in 5 ml/L  natural honey with different immersiontime.The treatmentconsisted of P0 (without natural honey), P1 (12 hours of immersion), P2 (16 hours of immersion), P3 (20 hours of immersion),and P4 (24 hours of immersion). The observed parameters were post-immersion survival percentage, percentage of male betta fish, post- rearing survival percentage and water quality. The result showed the percentage of male betta fish was 47,50 % (P0), 66,35 % (P1), 73,51% (P2), 75,37 (P3), and 85,14 % (P4). Water quality during maintenace were temperature 27,4-28,8 oC, pH 5,3-5,8, DO 3,43-3,59 mg/L and amonia 0’001-0,002 mg/L. Treatment of P4 (24 hours of immersion) indicatedthe best treatment with larval survival percentage andmale percentage were 90.00% and 85.14% respectirely. Keywords : Betta fish (Betta splendens), masculinization,natural honey

Comet fish is one type of ornamental fish that has been widely cultivated because it has an attractive body shape and color. The main obstacle in the development of comet fish farming is the limited number of seeds, both in quality and quantity. Egg quality is a major factor in the success of fish hatcheries. According to Andriyanto et al, (2013) quality eggs have a high level of fertilization and hatching (high fertility and hatching rate). Putri et al. (2013) stated that water quality factors, especially temperature, were very important factors in the life of the organism. The study was conducted for 1 month which was implemented April to May 2018. The place of research was carried out at the UPR (Rakyak hatchery unit). big. environmental design Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 (four) treatments and 3 (three) replications, each treatment is: Treatment A: Temperature 26 oC + Eggs 100 grains, Treatment B: Temperature 28oC + Eggs 100 grains, Treatment C: Temperature 30 oC + Egg 100 grains, Treatment D: Temperature 32oC + Eggs 100 grains. The parameters observed were: Egg hatchability and water quality. The results obtained for the best temperature treatment were treatment B with a temperature treatment of 28oC with hatchability of 73.33%.Ikan komet merupakan salah satu jenis ikan hias yang telah banyak dibudidayakan karena memiliki bentuk tubuh serta warna yang menarik.Kendala utama dalam pengembangan budidaya ikan komet adalah terbatasnya benih, baik dalam kualitas maupun kuantitasnya.Kualitas telur merupakan faktor utama keberhasilan dalam pembenihan ikan. Menurut Andriyanto et al, (2013) telur yang berkualitas memiliki tingkat pembuahan dan penetasan yang tinggi (fertilitas dan hatching rate tinggi). Putri et al, (2013) menyatakan bahwa faktor kualitas air terutama suhu merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan organisme, Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan yang telah dilaksanakan april  sampai dengan bulan mei 2018. Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di UPR (unit pembenihan rakyak) kenali besar.rancangan lingkungan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 (empat) perlakuan dan 3 (tiga) ulangan, masing-masing perlakuan tersebut adalah :Perlakuan A : Suhu 26 oC + Telur 100 butir, Perlakuan B : Suhu 28oC + Telur 100 butir, Perlakuan C : Suhu 30 oC + Telur 100 butir, Perlakuan D : Suhu 32oC + Telur 100 butir. Parameter yang diamati adalah : Daya tetas telur dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh untuk perlakuan suhu yang terbaik adalah perlakuan B dengan perlakuan suhu 28oC dengan daya tetas sebesar 73,33%.

Gracilaria sp is red alga which belong to class rhodophyceae. It can grow in shallow salt water with a general characteristic is having a cylindrical and branched thallus form. Seaweed cultivation can be performed through IMTA (Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture) method. The basic principle of cultivation through the IMTA method is utilizing service of the low thropic level species in marine ecosystems, such as shells and seaweed.  This method is believed to be able to overcome the environmental problems caused by cultivation activities, such as feces and uneaten feed. This research was perfomed 45 days, from February 25 to April 11, 2017. It was held at Geger Beach, Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, using a complete randomized design method that consist of three treatments and three repetition for each treatment. Treatment control (T1) consisted of 10 bunches of seaweed 100 grams without the abalone, treatement 2 (T2) consisted of 10 bunches of seaweed 100 grams and 20 abalones and treatement 3 (T3) consisted of 10 bunches of seaweed 100 grams and 40 abalones. The result showed that specific growth rate in Gracilaria sp.  was highest in treatment T1, compared to treatment T2 and T3. This was caused by the cage construction of abalone amd the present of small mesh size net to cover the seaweed  planting, which made the growth was not optimal.  However, the use of a nets system in seaweed cultivation could minimize the loss of thallus. It was proved by the survival rate of seaweed in first, second and third, that is averagely high, ranging from 90% to 100%. Physical and chemical water quality parameters are also measured, and It showed that the water quality was suitable for the cultivation of both, seaweed and abalone.

This research aims was to determine the effective pressure on fine bubbles technology on the growth of Siamese catfish fry in the aquaponic system. This study uses a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment A (Control), Treatment B (FBs at a pressure of 4,5 atm), Treatment C (FBs at a pressure of 5 atm and treatment D (FBs at a pressure of 5,5 atm). The parameters observed were Specific Growth Rate, Survival Rate and water quality (Temperature, pH, DO, Ammonia) Data were analyzed using variance with the F test at a 95% confidence level. The best treatment for catfish growth was treatment D (5,5 atm pressure), which gave the highest SGR value of 7,24% and the highest SR value of 100%. The value of water quality parameters were in good condition for the growth and survival of catfish.

This research aims to determine the effect of fine bubble technology with different pressures on Siamese catfish seed's growth and feed efficiency in an aquaponic system. This research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment A (Control), Treatment B (FBs with a pressure of 4.5 atm), Treatment C (FBs with a pressure of 5 atm and treatment D (FBs with a pressure of 5.5 atm). The parameters observed were Specific Growth Rate, Feed Conversion Ratio, water quality (temperature, pH, DO, and ammonia), and plant productivity.  The seeds used were catfish seeds aged 16-36 days, 1-2 inches long, and weighed 0.26-0.29 grams. The container used is a fiber tub of 16 units with a size of 70 cm x 70cm x 70 cm. The feed used is commercial feed PF 1000 content crude protein 35%. The data were analyzed using variance with the F test at the 95% confidence level. The best treatment for catfish growth was treatment D (pressure 5.5 atm), which gave the highest SGR value of 7.24 ± 0.5 and FCR value of 1.19 ± 0.09. The value of water quality parameters is in suitable condition for the growth of catfish seed. The best plant productivity was found in treatment D with an average weight of 60.75 g.

Abstract Water quality indices were examined for paired upstream and downstream samples for 23 operational stream crossings and approaches during four periods. Stream crossings were (1) portable bridges (BRIDGE), (2) culverts backfilled with poles (POLE), (3) culverts with earth backfill (CULVERT), and (4) reinforced fords (FORD). The four operational periods were (1) prior to crossing installation (INITIAL), (2) after installation (INSTALL), (3) during harvest (HARVEST), and (4) after road closure (CLOSURE). Differences (Δ) in water samples collected above and below stream crossings were analyzed for Δtotal dissolved solids (ΔTDS), ΔpH, Δconductivity, Δtemperature, and Δsediment concentration. Data were analyzed as a completely randomized design with unequal replication (four to seven replications). Significant differences were observed (α < 0.10) among crossing types for Δtemperature, ΔTDS, ΔpH, and Δconductivity. Overall, the least disruptive crossing type for water quality was BRIDGE, but road standards and approach characteristics were also important. Modeled estimates of erosion demonstrated that CULVERT approaches had higher potential erosion than other crossings. Water quality parameters were most negatively affected during INSTALL and HARVEST and were apparently improving during CLOSURE. Permanent crossings were associated with significantly greater temperatures than temporary crossings, likely because of increased width of streamside management zone removal. Water quality effects could be minimized by installing appropriate best management practices during all harvest periods rather than waiting until CLOSURE. Findings should be used cautiously because individual site factors such as climate, site, soil, and operational variability will alter effects.

Keberhasilan kegiatan budidaya perikanan harus ditunjang dengan ketersediaan benih yang berkesinambungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan juga ketersediaan pakan alami larva berupa rotifera (Brachionus rotundiformis). Desain percobaan berupa rancangan faktorial dengan dua faktor dan lima ulangan diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini. Sebagai perlakuan berupa suhu ruang penyimpanan (suhu kamar, suhu ruang AC, dan suhu refrigerator/lemari es) dan pakan mikroalga konsentrat (monospesies dan multispesies). Bakteri probiotik juga digunakan sebagai pengontrol kualitas air. Spesies mikroalga yang digunakan adalah Nannochloropsis sp., Dunaliella sp., Isochrysis sp., dan Pavlova sp. Parameter yang diukur adalah kelimpahan rotifera dan parameter kualitas air media kultur (pH, salinitas, DO, dan NH3). Analisis data terdiri atas analisis regresi, analisis ragam, dan uji keparalelan. Hasil pengukuran parameter kualitas air selama penyimpanan menunjukkan kondisi media yang relatif stabil dan merupakan kisaran optimum bagi pertumbuhan B. rotundiformis. Kelimpahan maksimum tertinggi dari B. rotundiformis baik pada perlakuan pakan monospesies maupun multispesies alga adalah pada suhu kamar. Dari interaksi kedua perlakuan, diperoleh kelimpahan akhir tertinggi pada suhu ruang AC–pakan multispesies. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rotifera dapat disimpan lebih lama pada suhu ruang AC dengan pemberian pakan multispesies alga.The success of any aquaculture practices should be supported by sustainable supply of fish fry. Therefore, the availability of rotifers (Brachionus rotundiformis) as natural feed for fish larvae is required. The research was arranged in factorial design with two treatments and five replications. Treatments consisted of different room storage temperatures (refrigerator, room temperature, and room with air conditioner/AC) and microalgae concentrate added as rotifer feed (monospecies and multispecies algae). Probiotic bacteria was used to control water quality. Mikroalgae species consisted of Nannochloropsis sp., Dunaliella sp., Isochrysis sp., and Pavlova sp. Parameters measured were rotifer density and water quality of rotifer media (pH, salinity, DO, and NH3). Data analysis included regression analysis, analysis of varians and parallel testing. The results of water quality parameters during rotifer storage showed that media conditions were relatively stable and optimal for B. rotundiformis growth. The result of treatments interaction showed that the highest maximum density of rotifer at the end of the research was achieved by rotifer stored in air conditioned room fed with multispecies algae. This showed that rotifers can be stored longer in room storage with AC and fed by multispecies algae.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Bulan Januari- Febuari 2016 di Laboratorium Hatchery dan Teknologi Budidaya Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan 5 perlakuan 3 kali ulangan A tanpa pupuk (kontrol) ; perlakuan B kultur Azolla sp dengan pupuk NPK 1gr/3 liter ; perlakuan C kultur Azolla sp dengan Pupuk TSP 1gr/3liter; perlakuan D kultur Azolla sp dengan Campuran (Urea, TSP dan NPK) 1gr/3liter dan perlakuan E Kultur Azolla sp dengan Pupuk Urea 1gr/3liter. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini  adalah kepadatan populasi Azolla sp dan parameter kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian dosis pupuk yang berbeda memberi pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan biomassa tanaman Azolla sp dimana Fhitung > Ftabel. Pupuk yang paling baik digunakan dalam kultur tanaman Azolla sp yaitu pupuk TSP, dimana dengan dosis 1 gr/3L air dapat memberi pertumbuhan yang tinggi dan perkembangan yang baik untuk tanaman Azolla sp.The research was conducted in January-February 2016 at Hatchery and Technology Laboratory Aquaculture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University. The method used in this study was completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with 5 treatments 3 replications A without fertilizer (control); treatment B culture Azolla sp with NPK 1 g / 3 liter; culture Azolla sp C treatment with TSP1 fertilizer gr / 3 liter; Azolla sp treatment D culture with a mixture (Urea, TSP and NPK) 1 g / 3 liter and treatment E culture Azolla sp with Urea 1 g / 3 liter. The parameters observed in this study was the population density of Azolla sp, Azolla sp biomass and water quality parameters. The results showed fertilizered. with different dosages to influence the growth and biomass of Azolla sp plant where Fcount > F table. Fertilizer is best used in the culture of Azolla sp namely TSP fertilizer plant, where a dose of 1 g /3 L of water can give higher growth and good development for Azolla sp plant.

<p><strong>Growth and Survival of Sandfish <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Holothuriascabra</span> Juveniles </strong><strong>Grown </strong><strong>with and without Seaweed <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Gracilaria</span> sp</strong><strong>.,</strong><strong> using Floating and Fixed Hapas in </strong><strong>Earthen </strong><strong>Pond</strong><strong>. </strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Holothuriascabra</span> known as sandfish have long been used for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries.Juveniles production is one of the ways to address the problem of raw material availability due to declining sandfish population in the wild. This research aimed to determine growth performance and survival of sandfish juveniles reared with and without seaweed <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Gracilaria</span> sp.  using floating and fixed hapas in earthen pond. The research was conducted from May to September 2014. A completely randomized design was used to arrange 12 hapas of four treatments groups with three replicates including floating hapas without <span style="text-decoration: underline;">G</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">racilaria</span> sp. (ATR), floating hapas with <span style="text-decoration: underline;">G</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">racilaria</span>sp. (ADR), fixed hapas without <span style="text-decoration: underline;">G</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">racilaria</span> sp. (TTR) and fixed hapas with <span style="text-decoration: underline;">G</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">racilaria</span> sp. (TDR). Some parameters was observed includingweight increment, Growth Rate (GR),Specific Growth Rate(SGR), Biomass, Survival, and Water Quality. The result showed that GR and SGR were not significantlydifferent among treatments (P&gt;0.05). Survial and Biomass showed significant difference among treatments (P &lt;0.05). ATR has the highest GR, SGR, survival, dan biomass whereas TDR has the lowest GR, SGR, survival, dan biomass. Water quality parameters were in optimal range for sandfish rearing. Added<span style="text-decoration: underline;">G</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">racilaria</span> sp.tend to inhibitGR, SGR, survival, dan biomass.<strong></strong></p>
