The arguable claims of levels of trust in politics and business situations motivated this study, which investigates the degree of trust within micro, small, and medium categories of Hungarian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies. Different sizes of companies have varying interactions between internal members and their business partners. This study concentrated on exploring Hungarian ICT companies due to their significant role in supporting Industry 4.0. The study population are active Hungarian ICT companies. This research implemented random cluster selection related to the location of ICT firms. It exploited 100 samples, including micro, small, and medium-sized companies, and implemented discriminant analysis to examine the description and hypotheses. First, this study found that the level of trust in institutions within micro, small, and medium-sized companies varies significantly. The level of trust in institutions proliferates within corporations due to the capability of the formal institution to provide fair public services. This research additionally underlined that the performance of the Hungarian government would improve trust amongst the companies. Second, this study concluded that the level of interpersonal trust within three categories of companies was similar. A high level of interpersonal trust would expand internal engagement among the members of companies. Finally, the level of trust in business partners varied significantly within the distinct sizes of Hungarian ICT companies. A high level of trust in corporate associates improves business collaboration, reduces uncertainty, and supports long-term business connections. Levels of institutional trust and inter-organizational trust differed amongst different categories of companies. However, the level of interpersonal trust remained similar within companies of the various sizes.

Entrepreneurship is gaining recognition as an important way of attaining a sustainable competitive advantage and positive financial returns. This article compares the entrepreneurial intensity (EI) of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies with that of listed JSE companies (excluding ICT listings). A cross-section telephone survey was conducted. The findings suggest that ICT companies are more entrepreneurial than JSE companies. Additionally, the size of a company shows no relation to EI, but age is negatively correlated to EI. By implication, the older the company, the less entrepreneurial it becomes. The findings suggest that organisational factorsinfluence EI and that EI is industry specific. The managerial implication for companies that want to become more entrepreneurial is that they should create organisational conditions conducive to the development of corporate entrepreneurship.

This study looks at students' readiness for teaching and learning (T&L) of new norms in the Department of Information and Communication Technology (JTMK), Polytechnic Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (PSMZA). The purpose of this study is to identify the level of readiness of students' acceptance of the T & L of this new norm and the existing facilities that influence the implementation of T&L’s new norm. This study uses a quantitative method involving a sample of study consisting of 81 students from semester 3 and 4 JTMK, PSMZA, and uses a questionnaire as a research instrument. All data collected were analysed with Statistical Package Social Science 20 (SPSS 20) software. The data obtained are analysed and presented in the form of percentages and mean scores which will then be interpreted in tabular form. Overall, the results of the study show that the level of readiness of students' acceptance of the T&L of the new norm is at a moderate level. However, the availability of existing facilities that influence the implementation of learning in the new norm shows a high level.

This research aims to identify the factors that characterise the evolutionary stages of the development cycle of information and communication technology (ICT) companies, based on Brazilian evidence. A data collect was done and the analysis shows the factors related to the companies’ success. In addition, the results show factors related to the evolutionary stages of the ICT companies and demonstrate the differences in the characteristics of each stage of the company: nascent, in consolidation and mature. The results of this research provide information to entrepreneurs to improve the performance of their enterprises and, consequently, contribute to the development of the ICT sector in Brazil and other countries with similar characteristics. Furthermore, based on the results found in the different characteristics of companies at each evolutionary stage, this research provides information to policy-makers to develop really effective mechanisms to contribute to the technology sector and, subsequently, to a better economic and social development of their countries.

Information and communication technology (ICT) managers in the modern enterprises face a bewildering array of decisions regarding planning of new systems, integration of new systems with existing ones, securing the ICT assets, and administrating the resulting complex ICT systems. The rapid introduction of wireless systems (mobile computing and wireless communications) in the business and government settings is further exasperating the situation, particularly in the developing countries. A Computer Aided Planner (Planner), part of the UN eNabler Toolset, has been developed to quickly and effectively produce detailed strategic plans for a wide range of egovernment services with particular attention to wireless systems. This paper presents a high level overview of this effort.

Abstract On analysing a sample of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) firms, we ask whether domestic business groups that are engaged in international cooperation for innovation are likely to cooperate for innovation in the home market. We compare these companies with other types of ICT firms. The idea behind our inquiry is that domestic groups involved in international cooperation for innovation are exposed to international information, while they are also well embedded in the home economy. We find that these companies as well as foreign subsidiaries are more prone to cooperating for innovation with domestic partners than are other types of ICT companies, even when size and other characteristics of firms that may influence cooperation are taken into consideration. However, domestic groups with international cooperation for innovation show a systematically higher propensity than foreign subsidiaries to cooperate with domestic partners. These results may be useful regarding policies of foreign direct investment promotion and their alternatives.

In this paper the authors investigate the relationship of advanced information and communication technology (ICT) use and the environmental performance on the company level. Their presumption is that companies with advanced ICT can have better environmental performance as well. The level of ICT development is assessed by Pham’s model, while environmental performance is interpreted along with the model of Schultze and Trommer. The authors tested the models and the relationship of ICT and environmental performance by statistical analysis, using the database of Hungarian Competitiveness Research Centre. Regarding the results, there is a positive connection between high-level ICT use and environmental performance in many aspects. Since advanced ICT allows companies to gather and analyze data extensively, the monitoring of the environmental performance indicators and the intervention, continuous development can be more efficient. Environmental sustainability is not the privilege of large companies, middle size companies are also intensely dealing with this important issue.

The purpose of this research is to propose an instructional model based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education approach for enhancing the information and communication technology skills for elementary students in Thailand. The study was conducted by research and development design and divided into two phases: Phase I is to create a tentative model that was synthesized using the relevant documents and researches concerning the elements and steps of the model. The data was collected through interviewing eight teachers who are experts in STEM education and twenty-four students who were instructed by STEM approach. Phase II consists of proposing a tentative model to eleven experts, evaluating the model, and acquiring an approval of the model by five professionals. The findings of the research are as follows: 1) This model consists of five main elements—principles, purpose, content, teaching and learning process and measurement and evaluation of ICT skills. There are six steps from the engineering design process consisting of problem identification, related information search, solution design, planning and development, testing evaluation, and design improvement and presentation. 2) The eleven experts evaluated the tentative model as appropriate at a high level. The five professionals approved this model as appropriate at a high level.

The article aims to evaluate the existence of a coevolution between internationalization strategies and innovative performance within information and communication technology (ICT) companies located in the northeast of Brazil. In order to achieve this objective, a conceptual model was derived from the literature review contemplating the vision that internationalization and innovation within companies happen in an evolutionary and dynamic way. Methodologically, the study is characterized by being qualitative, using the technique of multiple cases. The studied companies (IVIA, IFACTORY, CPQI and GREENMILE) presented changes in both internal and external competences. Thus, a main conclusion has been that the studied companies presented a process of coevolution between innovation and internationalization strategies. In terms of business strategies, it can be verified that the presence of these two processes, guarantees the development and growth of companies in the global market.
