The rapidly advancing technological development leads to designing and researching a new multi- output gear mechanism. The investigated new double-output gear mechanism has two output coaxial shafts located against the input shaft on the other side of the gearbox. The gear mechanism achieves high gear ratios. Its limiting structural node is the output stage, to which the gears belong. The problem is addressed through the analysis of the stress resistance of tooth flanks in contact and bending. The content of the paper is a comparison of analytical computations with the modal analysis on the model. We expect that new findings will be beneficial for further optimization of the gear mechanism.

Background and Aim: Verrucous epidermal nevi are cutaneous hamartomas having many clinical variants. Dermoscopic features of verrucous epidermal nevus have rarely been investigated. We aimed to identify dermoscopic findings of the entity which will facilitate the diagnostic process by reducing the use of invasive diagnostic methods. Material and Methods: The study included the patients with histopathologically approved verrucous epidermal nevus. Clinical, dermoscopic and histopathological features of the patients were retrospectively reviewed and the findings identified were recorded. Dermoscopic examination was performed with a polarized-light handheld dermoscope with 10-fold magnification. Results: The most common dermoscopic features were thick brown circles, thick brown branched lines and terminal hairs. The most common vessel pattern was dotted vessels. Branched thick brown lines, brown globules, brown dots forming lines, serpiginous brown dots, white and brown exophytic papillary structures, fine scale, thick adherent scale and cerebriform structures were the other findings. Conclusion: We observed many vascular and non-vascular dermoscopic findings which have not been described previously for the entity. Dermoscopic examination of the verrucous epidermal nevi may lead more reliable clinical interpretation and thus it may reduce the need for histopathological investigation. Abstract Diseases of affluence (of the 21st c.) by definition should have higher prevalence and/or mortality rates in richer and more developed countries than in poorer, underdeveloped states (where diseases of poverty are more common). Therefore, it has been indicated that it is civilizational progress that makes us sick. On the other hand, substantial financial resources, highly qualified medical personnel, and the cutting-edge technology of richer states, should allow for effective preventions, diagnostics, and treatment of diseases of poverty and of affluence. Therefore, a dilemma arises: is progress making us sick or curing us? To evaluate the influence of country socioeconomic and technological development on population health, a spatial analysis of the epidemiology of diseases of affluence and distribution of economic resources for European NUTS 2 has been performed. The main aim of this paper is to assess, how regional diversity in the prevalence of diseases of affluence is related to the regional development of regions.

China's present leadership sees universities as being of key importance for the country's economic development and for its relationship with Western countries. This is a kind of two-edged sword. On the one hand, considerable support and encouragement for scientific and technological development is provided, together with pressures for scientific findings to be applied to specific economic development needs. On the other, the reflective and theoretical social sciences and the humanities are being purged of Western influences in efforts to mobilize all resources against what is seen as the Western strategy of fostering “peaceful evolution” towards capitalism. The kinds of tension that arise out of this highly contradictory situation are severe.

Abstract This work presents a new method for kinetostatic analysis and dynamic analysis of complex planar mechanisms, i.e. the ordered single-opened-chains method. This method makes use of the ordered single-opened chains (in short, SOC,) along with the properties of SOC, and the network constraints relationship between SOC,. By this method, any planar complex mechanism can be automatically decomposed into a series of the ordered single-opened chains and the optimal structural decomposition route (s) can be automatically selected for dynamic analysis, the paper present the dynamic equation which can be used to solve both the kinetostatic problem and the general dynamic problem. The main advantage of the proposed approach is the possibility to reduce the number of equations to be solved simultaneously to the minimum, and its high automation as well. The other advantage is the simplification of the determination of the coefficients in the equations, and thus it maybe result in a much less time-consuming algorthem. The proposed approach is illustrated with three examples. The presented method can be easily extended to the dynamic analysis of spatial mechanisms.

The article discusses the main approaches to understanding the designated terms in scientific thought in the second half of the XX - early XXI centuries. Within the framework of modern sociocultural research, on the one hand, national traditions are developing in defining the concepts of "culture" and "civilization", on the other, new connotations are being created. According to the authors of the article, the considered approaches to determining the meanings of the phenomena of culture and civilization are the most significant, revealing the essence of modern society. Culture appears as: an anthropological category, reflecting the creative activity of a person, as an ontological category, suggesting that outside of culture there is no meaningful and meaningful human being; as an axiological category representing a system for storing and transmitting spiritual experience, values and ideals. Civilization acts as a praxeological category that characterizes the level of social and technological development of society, which is characterized by alienation from natural life, the priority of social values over environmental ones, and the transformative-deforming nature of activity.

Aiming at the complex structure and high manufacturing process requirements of traditional knotter, this article proposes a new rope knotting method. Based on the knotting method, a knotter is designed to use a new mechanism which is made up of two new incomplete gear mechanisms to drive rope clamping mechanism and rope hooking and griping mechanism. First, a kinematic cycle diagram of the knotter is determined, and the structures of each key mechanism are designed. Then, a virtual prototype of the knotter is established by Unigraphics and imported into Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems to analyze the kinematic of each key mechanism. The success rate is 98.4% through 500 physical tests on the physical model of the knotter. The results indicate that the knotting method is reliable. The knotter can meet the requirements of structure, posture, and coordination during knotting process. The new knotter has no separate mechanism for cutting rope and tripping out of the rope buckle. Therefore, the structure is simplified and reduces the design and manufacturing difficulties. Furthermore, the new incomplete gear mechanism solves the problem that in the conventional incomplete gear mechanism, the driven gear can swing at a large angle or even cannot be locked in the case when the locking arc of the passive gear is too short.

This chapter particularly focuses on electronic democracy and virtual communities and accordingly discusses recent ideas and plans of political leaders, derives requirements for technology, presents systems and prototypes, and reports cases demonstrating how and what technology is really used.

During the last two decades, technological development has led to an extreme increase in transport and connected industries. This has significantly increased the production of automobile tires, which have their life span after which they go to waste. It is therefore necessary to extricate new products from recycled raw materials. For a product to be created, it is necessary, especially in civil engineering, to examine and determine all the properties of this material (pressure, traction, stress resistance, etc.). The results obtained by the research in this paper are mathematically processed by applying a logarithmic model. The aim of this process is to predict stress deformation in terms of tensile force. The model obtained is significant with accuracy of 87.21% and has a very high accuracy of the deformation estimation in relation to the applied stress. Independent variables were granulometric composition, binder (glue) and specific mass.

The use of accelerometer based measurement techniques for evaluating bridge forced vibrations or to perform bridge modal analysis is well established. It is well known to all researchers who have experience in vibration measurements that values of acceleration amplitude can be very low at low frequencies and that a limitation to the use of accelerometer can be due to the threshold parameter of this kind of transducer. Under this conditions the measurement of displacement seems more appropriate. On the other hand laser vibrometer systems detect relative displacements as opposed to the absolute measures of accelerometers. Vibrations have been measured simultaneously by a typical accelerometer for civil structures and by a laser vibrometer equipped with a fringe counter board in terms of velocity and displacements. The accelerations calculated from the laser vibrometer signals and the one directly measured by the accelerometer has been compared.
