Envisioning new innovation strategy, it is wisely to fostering the technopreneurship area of education in public higher education. To be an entrpreneurial universities, it initiate to have a focus on undergraduate student starting from enrollment to graduation, which offered constant encouragement, training and support for their efforts to conceive and start up business enterprises with prototype they conceive. In this regards, this paper examines a factors required by the universities in bolstering the better prelude efforts towards the students in technopreneurship by indicating the competition, technology transfer and university policy.  Sample of study was taken from undergraduate students at public university involving 146 students which already been taught the technopreneurship course at university. The descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis and t-test were used to investigate the effect factors.  In line with previous studies, the results reveal that competition, technology transfer and university policy statically significant in influencing the technopreneurship education at university. Surprisingly, the study shows that competition plays a crucial part in enhancing a better lookout in this innovation. The exposure from competition will drive them to be a creative person in nature and laterally develop an entrepreneurship skill in future. The result is useful for policy makers as well as university in considering the effect of these 3 factors in the eyes of undergraduates.  Exploratory in nature, globalization and surge demand on technopreneurship thus evolve the trend in vibrant economic growth, industrialize and development context.

Abstract Albanian higher education sector has undergone various changes in the last years. Such changes have brought different implication and challenges for higher education institutions. HEIs need to find new and innovative ways to be able to respond properly and play their role in the society. This paper aims to provide an evaluation of the staus quo of 5 public higher education instituions, that took part in the study, in regard to 6 aspects of the entrepreneurial university model.Interviews were conducted using HEInnovate tool as a theoretical guideline and questions were asked by being grouped in 6 categories: on aspects such as governance and lidership, internationalization, knowledge exchange, human and financial resources, entrepreneurial education and start up support and measures, were conducted in order to have a general overview and identify potential areas of improvement. Entrepreneurship needs to be supported and formilazed by the top lidership and effective organizational structure that promotes entrepreneurshop at all levels of the institution, financial stream needs to be diversified, blended learning needs to be encourgaed and promoted and public HEIs need to increase their international cooperation and presence. The study shows that HEIs need to implement new practies in order to better be prepared to face the current and future challenges. The findings and recommendation can be used to present measures to be undertaken both at institutional level of HEIs and at the level of policy makers in Albania.

In November 2020, we conducted a cross sectional study to implement and test the method of acquaintance sampling (randomly sampling friends of randomly sampled individuals) in detecting students with higher probability of COVID-19 positivity. Overall, 879 students were randomly sampled and participated in this study. In an online survey, the randomly sampled participants nominated a friend, and reported their own and their nominated friend's COVID-19 status. Nominated friends were about 1.64 (95% CI: 1.33, 2.00) times more likely to have ever been infected with COVID-19, compared to randomly sampled students. Our study corroborates the effectiveness of acquaintance sampling for identifying members of networks with higher COVID-19 risk. These findings could be useful for university policy makers when developing mitigation testing programs and intervention strategies against COVID-19 spread.

The study attempts to investigate the attitude and perception of Saudi undergraduate students towards English literature courses as a part of their BA English Program at a large public university in KSA. A total of 59 students (25 studying a literature course, 25 linguistics course and nine had already passed at least one literature course) participated in the study. Applying mixed method research design, questionnaires were used to collect quantitative data and retrospective essays were used for qualitative data. A modified version of AMTB developed by Gardner and associates was used to measure students' attitude towards literature courses. The results of study show that the participants have positive attitude towards literature courses. The findings also suggest that learners’ social environment (family, friends, classmates, teachers…etc.) significantly contribute in constructing positive attitudes and enhancing their perception towards literature as medium of learning L2. The study has pedagogical implication too. Policy makers (administrator, curriculum developers, and teachers) need to accommodate learners’ voices in the selection of teaching material.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of entrepreneurial intention (EI) in relation to the influence of the five dimensions of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) on nascent behaviour.Design/methodology/approachThe study relies on a quantitative approach where primary data were collected from 294 final year undergraduate students at a public university in Zambia. The data were examined by using correlation, logistic regression and mediation analyses.FindingsThe findings indicate that each of the five dimensions of ESE is positively and significantly related with EI. Additionally, each of the ESE dimensions, except the financial aspect, is positively correlated with nascent behaviour. Finally, the results show that the influence of ESE dimensions on nascent behaviour is significantly mediated by intention.Research limitations/implicationsThe study took place in a public university in Zambia; more universities could be involved to improve the generalisability of the study conclusions.Practical implicationsThe study shows that the five ESE dimensions positively influence not only business start-up intention but also nascent behaviour. To motivate graduates’ involvement in business start-up, there is a need to tailor training and practical pedagogical approaches on entrepreneurship that are focussed on developing the five ESE dimensions.Originality/valueThis paper extends an emerging body of knowledge which has not been fully investigated in terms of the mediating role of intention on the relationships between dimensions of ESE and nascent behaviour. The study also makes a valuable contribution to the under-researched context of Zambia and African entrepreneurship.


This study aims to identify the impacts of entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial implementation on entrepreneurial intention among undergraduate students from one of public university in the Northern Region of Malaysia. The theoretical framework for this study is developed based on the literature review. In this study, 488 usable respondents are obtained by using a survey method. Based on the results, it is found that entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial implementation have significant impact towards students’ entrepreneurial intention. The findings presented that students in this institution have moderately high levels of entrepreneurial education (mean=3.70), entrepreneurial implementation (mean=3.12) and entrepreneurial intention (mean=3.64). Results also presented that entrepreneurial education is significantly related to entrepreneurial intention (β=.55, p=.00). Other factor which is entrepreneurial implementation also significantly related to entrepreneurial intention (β=.52, p=.00). These study findings will be fruitful for Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) including the policy makers and academicians to identify the factors which can create the impact on the university students to be involved into entrepreneurship. Next, the results of this study will provide a guide for the university managements on the formulation and implementation of policies. This knowledge on entrepreneurial education and implementation may help the country to eventually reduce the Malaysian unemployment rate. Last but not least, several directions for the future study have been suggested.

The core issue of this paper is a quality in the lifelong learning. The aim of the contribution is to describe the area, level and dimensions of quality in a wide range of lifelong learning programs, respectively of further education, which are realized in the sense of § 60 and 60a of the Higher Education Act. The content of the paper also focuses on the theoretical and practical starting points of the quality phenomenon, both from the historical point of view and especially from the perspective of the current focus and concept of university policy in the European and Czech region. The paper also presents the results of a survey focusing on approaches to the quality assurance systems in the concept of components at selected public university.

OBJECTIVE: to describe the perception of lecturers and undergraduate nursing students regarding the dialogic experience in the informal spaces and its relationship with training in health.METHOD: experiential descriptions were collected in the context of a public university in the non-metropolitan region of the state of Bahia, Brazil, using open interviews. These descriptions were analyzed according to the principles of the phenomenology of Maurice Merleau-Ponty.RESULTS: it was revealed that the informal spaces contribute significantly to the construction of knowledge and professional training strengthening teaching and promoting the re-signification of the subjects' experience.CONCLUSION: it is evidenced that the dialogic experience has relevancy for rethinking the teaching-learning process in the university, such that the informal spaces should be included and valued as producers of meanings for the personal and academic life of lecturers and students, with the ability to re-signify existence.

Purpose-The objective of this paper is to examine the factors affecting Bangladeshi students’ intention to be a chartered accountant. This paper specifically addresses factors like students’ gender, previous major at undergraduate level, CGPA, public vs private university status and family income.Design/methodology/approach - The study was conducted using a questionnaire survey with a sample of 271 students from five different public and private universities in Bangladesh. The 12x2"> test was applied to examine the relationship between these factors and students’ aspiration for a chartered accountant.Findings- The findings of the study show that out of five variables three variables, previous major, public vs private university status and family income, have significant relationship with students’ intention to pursue CA professional qualification. On the contrary, gender and CGPA of the students are considered as insignificant factors.Originality/Value-This research is the first study in Bangladesh which identifies several influencing factors for students’ choice to become a chartered accountant. The findings have implications for professional bodies in Bangladesh and other policy makers in their effort to develop strategies to motivate students to be a chartered accountant.

Many millions of dollars are invested annually in materials science research and development in U.S. universities. Both the universities and the sponsors, either government or private industry, have enormous incentives for the R&D efforts to become commercial. For private industry a successful development means new or improved products or processes and ultimately more profits. For the government, successful materials development can lead to improved hardware or operations efficiency and lower costs. For a university the payoff can be more than economic.Ideally, successful commercial development leads to royalties paid to the universities in the form of the most precious of assets — Unrestricted or flexible income. Students and faculty can benefit from the additional income, both privately, depending on university policy, and through their departments. However, benefits can also accrue in the form of experience and knowledge gained while participating in the technology transfer process from university to corporation. Students who take part in such efforts gain invaluable experience in preparing and defending patent applications, designing and developing prototypes, and they are exposed to economic and legal issues that are seldom taught in the classroom. They become more valuable graduates. Taking part in a technology transfer case history is a far more effective form of learning than reading about it.These benefits to a university are offset by a number of potentially negative factors. The space, time, personnel, equipment, and deadline pressures involved in commercialization are often beyond the capabilities of a university program. However, these limitations may not be realized until the effort has begun, and it is costly to stop in midstream, as is discussed below.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents of consumers’ attitude towards, and intention to commit, digital piracy in Indonesia, a country with the world’s fourth largest population and one of the highest digital piracy rates. This study explored the effects of six variables derived from the theory of planned behaviour, ethics theory, and deterrence theory on young consumers in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach Using a convenience sampling approach, researchers hand delivered 400 questionnaires to undergraduate students at one large private university and one major public university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Findings The results showed that consumers’ intention to pirate digital products was strongly influenced by consumers’ attitude towards digital piracy. Interestingly, fear of legal consequences and perceived likelihood of punishment were not significant predictors of consumers’ attitude towards digital piracy. This suggests that the principles of deterrence theory have a limited impact on consumers’ attitudes in Indonesia. Originality/value The results of this study will provide some insights to government and digital industries on how to reduce the prevalence of digital piracy.
