The disaster is not only a mere natural occurrence, but also due to the lack  of awareness and understanding of one's environmental problems. This paper will review the ecological values contained in the Qur'an. In fact, the Qur'an has given a stern warning of not doing mischief on earth. In this regard, within the certain limits, the query is how religion (Islam) providing ecological value to the whole community through the Koran? Applying semantic-hermeneutical approach, the research results the concept that has been introduced by the Qur'an with various forms and models of word. Withsome verses that describe the ecological problems, the formulation can be used as 'green religion', namely religion that requires people to practice Islam stressing the integral relationship between faith and the environment (all natural). Moral-ethical action is not only related to human relations, but also with nature.

The aim of this article is to analyze one of the most outstanding works of Buryat didactic literature – The Mirror of Wisdom by Erdeni Khaibzun Galshiev (1855 – 26 June (9 July) 1915) and to identify the Buddhist ecological values in it. We argue that in the modern context of global environmental awareness as well as local ecological problems in the Baikal region, Russia, The Mirror of Wisdom, and its described practices for laymen have become extremely significant and can serve as the guideline for sustainable living. We start with the overview of the historical background of Buddhism on the territory of the republic of Buryatia, Russia, go on with the general structure of The Mirror of Wisdom by Erdeni Galshiev, and proceed to the analysis of ecological values, such as non-harming to other creatures, the law of karma, non-attachment, and so on. The analysis shows that although written a century ago and not aimed initially to bring together the inter-related issues of population, consumption and the environment, The Mirror of Wisdom suggests certain conclusions concerning these issues and can contribute to ecological sustainability as well as economic and social justice.

This article considers the main types of global environmental problems as crisis ecological situations that are relevant for the entire planet, the solution of which is possible only with the participation of all humanity. Global environmental problems closely related to other global world problems, they affect each other and the emergence of some leads to the emergence or aggravation of others. The paper is concerned that such a complex world problem as the demographic caused by the explosive growth of the world's population leads to a sharp increase in the burden on the environment due to an increase in people's needs for food, energy, housing, industrial goods, etc. Obviously, without solving the demographic problem, without stabilizing the population, it is impossible to restrain the development of crisis ecological processes on the planet. In turn, the ecological problems of desertification, deforestation, causing degradation and loss of agricultural land, lead to an aggravation of the world food problem. The ecological danger of such global problem as military is great. In this article, we have determined that environmental degradation leads to significant economic costs as a result of degradation of natural resources, pollution, deterioration of public health.

ABSTRACT The cleaning and rehabilitation of oiled wildlife, especially waterfowl, has been one of our most difficult environmental problems to solve. It is plagued by controversy, emotion, apathy, and a host of biological unknowns. Costs have been high and survival rates low. This paper discusses the efforts taken by organizations and individuals in recent years to reverse this trend. It assesses biological problems and outlines research results. It analyzes people problems and wildlife contingency planning and presents a review of recent accomplishments in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.

In this paper the ecological situation of two Dutch estuaries will be described in relation to efforts of the Government to maintain or restore their environmental quality. The two estuaries are the Ems-Dollard estuary and the Western Scheldt. Both form the border with Germany and Belgium respectively and therefore are a potential management problem with respect to pollution crossing the borders between the countries involved. Therefore international consultation is needed to tackle environmental problems. Both estuaries are the remaining real estuaries of the Netherlands which can be conceived as one large Delta region of the rivers Rhine, Meuse, Scheldt and Ems. Plans for the sanitation of all rivers have been proposed and are in development as e.g. the Rhine Action Plan. For the smaller rivers like the Ems and Scheldt agreements about the reduction of pollutants have been made within the framework of the North Sea ministerial conferences. The ecological values of these estuaries are diminished through pollution, resulting in a reduced biological diversity, or reduced numbers of species. At present measures are taken to improve the ecological value which is based on the former ecological situation (ten Brink et al., 1991). Besides pollution also dredging and dumping of dredged material has levelled down the biological diversity and numbers of plants and animals.

The God who creates and restores - ecology and human relations within Colossians We are living in a world which has become very aware of the dangers of the pollution of our common environment and the destruction of the delicate balance of our ecology. Although the letter to the Colossians was written almost 2000 years ago it is surprising how much can be gathered by means of guidelines and principles with regard to these matters. Although Paul and the Colossians were not aware of the specific ecological problems that we face, there are nevertheless certain impulses in this letter which could guide us to a more balanced outlook with regard to these matters.

Liaoning seas have been facing severe environmental problems. To solve the marine ecological problems effectively, the marine ecological compensational mechanism of these areas should be established and improved gradually. By reference the successful stories of ecological compensation mechanism applied in other areas and the study of the basic ideas and focal point of the ecological compensation mechanism, we finally work out the suitable ecological compensation mechanism with fluidity, complexity and universality.
