New research scholarship offered by the Quran in the form of structural linguistic approach is used to redefine the communication process between God with His chosen creature, using the frame of communication theory. The approach is then collaborated with the historical critical approach, which is one part of the methodology applied in Bible studies to the Qur’an. The emphasis is to clarify the origin of the source text focused on the origins of the Koran from the Judeo- Christian tradition. Furthermore, research with this approach seeks the historical aspects of the text of the Qur'an with the intention of reconstructing the historicity.

Based on an analysis of 272 peer-reviewed articles on project management communication, the authors found that only four percent of the articles advanced project management communication toward a better contemporary understanding of the complexity of communication. The authors posit that project management communication research needs a new research agenda based on complex responsive processes of relating. The new research agenda proposal comprises three major areas of study: emotional intelligence; communication complexity theories; and complexity leadership. Adopting the new project management communication research agenda will help establish more effective communication tools and methods for project management practitioners while providing new research opportunities for communication scholars.

The rapid development of online environments presents challenges to researchers and scholars in various disciplines; an inter-disciplinary collaboration is needed to understand related societal phenomena in the digital age. The purpose of this chapter is to establish a research framework consisting of mass communication, social informatics, and children’s literature regarding children and their racial perceptions. The uniqueness of this approach is to apply the findings of online readers’ comments on a new story to a particular subject area, children’s literature, in which the authors examine how societal issues are illustrated in popular books. Within this framework, the authors identify three research areas: social awareness through the communication process, social perception through the analysis of social informatics, and social adoption through illustrations in the children’s books.

Abstract Building on Tabakowska’s (1993, 2003, 2005, 2009, 2013) full-blown defense of a cognitive linguistic approach to literary translation as well as on previous research dealing with the implementations of Construction Grammar(s) for translation studies (Szymańska 2011a, 2011b; Serbina 2015), this paper critically examines the role of iconicity in selected lines from Shakespeare’s Sonnets capitalizing on the passage of Time-Death and their corresponding translations in present-day Spanish and Italian. Specifically, drawing on Cognitive Construction Grammar (Goldberg 2006) and Contrastive Construction Grammar (Boas 2010a; Boas & Gonzálvez-García 2014), I focus on instances of secondary predication with verbs of sensory perception, causative constructions and aspectual constructions iconically connected with the above-mentioned motif and demonstrate that iconicity emerges as a very useful communicative ‘filter’ that can help to minimize any undesirable arbitrariness which may obscure the semantico-pragmatic interpretation of the source text and/or its rendering into the target text.

Abstract At which level of analysis (descriptivist, empirical, epistemological), and along which perspective (sociological, linguistical, communicative), should we locate the distinctive criteria for the definition of translation? In other words, what are the necessary and sufficient conditions which constitute the object « translation,» exclusively this object and not any other object? This is the general question of this article. It will be developped in two steps. First, we shall try to demonstrate that the perspective adopted by translatology, in defining translation by its semantical and fonctional equivalence relation with a source text, is congenetically determined by the discursive exclusion of the theorisation of that which is the very condition of possibility of each translation: the disrupture and distancing by which humans structure their social relation. Consequently, it is by the critique of communication theory, where a large part of translatology has drawn its scientific foundations, that we can deliver sound arguments for the assessing of translation in the structure of social relations. A second step consists in the formulation of a working hypothesis: if translation may be caused by the social dialectics of distancing and negociation of meaning, it is not sufficiently specified by this logic. It could be hypothesized that translation finds its specificity in the hybridity of the linguistic referential relation it instaures with the mute universe to be conceptualized on the one hand, and with the source text to be reformulated on the other.

To overcome the mistakes, the teacher will be a facilitator in correcting the student's translation. Implementing of written corrective feedback is provided teacher to correcting the student's mistakes by writing their comments, correction of errors, etc on the student's writing translation. Based on the analysis, the result indicates that the students make mistakes in translating, the students are most commonly made some mistakes in lexical and grammatical errors.

This paper continues the linguistic analysis on various editions of the Romanian version of Arthur Schopenhauer’s late philosophical work Aphorisms on the Wisdom of Life, an analysis which was conducted along two research directions that have been here preserved: the contrastive one (a direct comparison between source-text and target-text) and the diachronic one (considering the translator’s interventions on his own text at different points in time). The results of this analysis shall be presented here along the conclusions of the linguistic approach performed in order to objectively observe the way the translator, Titu Maiorescu, solved the difficulties of translating a German philosophical text into Romanian, by recording both his achievements and his imperfections. The linguistic approach of our analysis is useful not only to our discussion on philosophic translation, but also to possible forthcoming translators of the Aphorisms, whose intention might be that of adapting the discourse of the existent Romanian version written by Titu Maiorescu to the possibilities of Romanian contemporary language, considering its considerable evolution, especially as far as philosophical terminology is concerned.

The article attempts to present the challenges of Jean Bollack’s critical hermeneutics. This method of translation recommends that, to be effective, the philological examination which aims to bridge the gap between the work and its translation, must be strengthened by a critical interpretation. Not separating the work of translation from the work of interpretation, the reading of the source text requires its historization. A radical historization aims to know its subsequent representations without ignoring the moment of its creation. In short, the historization of textual meaning becomes the condition of its interpretation. Placed in the double tradition of the author and the translator, critical hermeneutics confronts their horizons of expectation in the search for the meaning of the original. Historically determined, it offers a critical approach to the source text, which takes into consideration its reception at various times and the «conflict of interpretations» caused by its readings.
