Kata kunci: Krustasea, keanekaragaman, mangrove, perairan KendariAlthough the marine and coastal areas are very important for the life of the people and nation of Indonesia, Kendari waters significantly have not worked optimally, especially the condition and potential of fisheries, particularly the density and diversity of crustaceans. This study aims to reveal and identify the potential of marine resources in small islands around the waters of Kendari. Research carried out by way of free collection along the mangrove. Data from this study are from non economical, economical crustaceans and environmental data (temperature, pH and salinity) as well as to supporting the environmental. The results shows several areas of environmental parameters is still relatively good for the life of crustaceans in mangrove areas. Provided 377 individuals, 15 species, 12 families and 1 order of individual krustaseans. Krustasean densities at each location is different. Diversity index (1.121-3.744) and Similarity index (0,360-0,610) catagories in medium grade, which illustrates that the spread of crustacea is relatively the same. Index of dominance in this study was high (0.190-0.620). By obtaining data of diversity crustaceans in the waters of Kendari, should be more rutiny and should have been more better protecting the environmental conditions and also the presence of crustaceans periodically because crustaceans are one of the food chain are also important in the coastal ecosystem.Key words: Crustaceans, diversity, mangrove forests, waters Kendari

This work is part of the DURACON Ibero-American project, which seeks to characterize concrete durability under environmental conditions, based on reinforced concrete sample exposure in at least two different atmospheres (marine and urban), for each of the 11 countries in the project. Specimens were exposed to the environmental conditions of 13 Mexican sites (8 urban and 5 marine atmospheres). Concrete specimens were 15 x 15 x 30 cm, with 6 rebars each, and three concrete covers (15, 20 and 30 cm). Two concrete mixtures were used with water/cement ratios of 0.45 and 0.65, respectively. Six reinforced and six plain concrete specimens were placed on each exposure site. Environmental data was collected on each exposure site, including rainfall, relative humidity, time of wetness, temperature, wind velocity, and carbon dioxide/chloride concentrations. Corrosion rates and potentials, as well as concrete resistivity were measured in the reinforced samples. Carbonation depths were measured on the plain ones. The present work focused on the measurements of environmental parameters during the first two years of exposure to analyze the potentiality and the probability of carbonation-induced corrosion, and the evaluation of the corrosion initiation period for the reinforcing steel on the 13 Mexican exposure sites.

The mangrove area of the world has been decreasing and Indonesia has lost 1.6 million ha of mangrove during the period 1980-2005. In 2015 the status of Indonesia's mangroves was 3.5 million ha with 48% in good condition and 52% in degraded conditions. Therefore, mangrove forests should be conserved properly and utilized sustainably. Assessment of the status of mangrove conditions is essential in conservation planning and management so that it can be done better. However, the method for assessing the condition of mangrove forests is still diverse and has not been standardized, so a literature review and review of how to assess the condition of mangrove ecosystems from various literature needs to be done. The results of the study of various literatures, in general there are two types of assessments. The first assessment used canopy density indicators, tree density, structure and composition of vegetation including diversity index and environmental parameters which are used singly or a combination of some or all parameters and some that be correlated with ecological integrity. For the second assessment, using a comparison between the existing mangrove forest and the potential area to be overgrown with mangroves. There is a difference when assessing the potential area, there is the opinion of the area potentially seen by the status of the area whether or not the forest area, from the landsystem, the level of abrasion, pond area and the comparison of the coastline length overgrown with mangrove with a total coastline length. Both assessments with each indicator can be used in accordance with the objectives of the assessment of the condition.

Diversity and habitat characteristics of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove forest of Lubuk Kertang Village, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 19: 311-317. Mangrove plays an important role in coastal ecosystems including ecological, social, and economic aspects. This study aimed to determine the diversity of macrozoobenthos and water quality based on diversity index (H’), similarity Index (E), and dominance index (D) in the mangrove of Lubuk Kertang Village North Sumatra, Indonesia. The samples of macrozoobenthos (biological parameter) and water quality (physical and chemical parameters) were collected from fifteen plots in three different stations. Macrozoobenthos were collected in 1 m × 1 m transect in the mangrove forest. The biota was taken by using a shovel, inserted into a plastic bag, and identified. Results showed that eight species of macrozoobenthos were found and classified into three classes of Gastropod, Bivalvia, and Malacostraca. The highest diversity index (H′) of macrozoobenthos was found at Station II (2.39), the highest evenness index (E) was located at Station I (0.54), and the highest dominance index (D) was found at Station II (0.34). Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to determine the habitat characteristics of macrozoobenthos. PCA confirmed that station III was a habitat with suitable characteristics for the life of macrozoobenthos indicating the negative axis. The present study suggested four parameters namely salinity, clay temperature, and dissolved oxygen that should be preserved to support the survival of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove forests.

Different elevation of lands can affect environmental conditions such as light intensity, temperature, and humidity. The environmental conditions will affect the growth and species of weeds. The aim of this study was to compare the diversity and species composition of weed comunities on highland and lowland of cacao plantation. The study was conducted by colecting the weed species from 25 plots with a size of 2 x 2 m. Every plot was placed by purposive sampling. The result showed that there were 26 species of weeds on highland while only 15 species of weeds were found on lowland. Weeds on highland was dominated by Ageratum conyzoides with important value index (IVI) of 62.07% while on lowland was dominated by Euphorbia hirta with IVI of 26.56%. The weeds community has a medium diversity index while the value of Similarity Index (IS) was low (4.87%) between weeds community on highland and lowland. It could be concluded that different environmental condition would affect the number and species of weeds.

Small islands are extremely vulnerable to ecosystem disturbances. One of the common factors im-pacting on island ecosystems is the rise of tourism activity and the associated conversion of man-grove forest’s function into tourism’s supporting facility. Those changes will ultimately affect the diversity of bird species inhabiting the island. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse the structure of a bird community in the mangrove forests of the Pahawang Island. The study used the transect method with tracking implemented. The obtained data were analysed using the Shannon-Wienner diversity index. We recorded 28 species from 21 families. Out of 21 families, Columbidae had the highest number of species (three species). Seven feeding guilds were observed during the present study, the maximum number of species belonged to the insectivore group and the minimum – to the nectarivore and omnivore (1 species each) guilds. Based on the abundance rank, the most abundant species was the cave swiftlet (Collochalia linchi). Three of the recorded species are listed in the cat-egory “Protected” according to the Indonesia Law: the brahminy kite (Haliastur indus), sunda pied fantail (Rhipidura javanica), and the black-naped tern (Sterna sumatrana). All bird species that have been recorded during the present study is classified as “Least Concern” in the IUCN Red List. The values of the Shannon-Wienner index suggest neither high nor low diversity (H’ = 2.55). Mangrove forest ecosystems, including the mudflat on the Pahawang Island, are important supporting popula-tions of wild birds through providing foraging, roosting and nesting sites.

Anthropogenic impact on the population of ground beetles leads to a change in their numbers, structure of dominance, density, species composition, spectrum of life forms. This makes the beetles Carabidae a convenient and informative bioindicator of the ecological state of biocenoses. The material for this work was the Carabidae collections conducted in June-August 2016-2017 in the park zone of different regions of Barnaul, differing in location, area, hydrological regime, vegetation cover, purpose and anthropogenic load. When processing the material, the quantitative, species and generic composition of the carabidae was determined, calculations were made for such indicators as the Berger-Parker dominance index, the Shannon species diversity index (Hs), and the Jacquard species similarity index. The fauna (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the park zone of Barnaul is represented by 55 species belonging to 20 genera. The dominant group is represented by species belonging to steppe, forest and polyzonal groups. Forest-steppe species of ground beetles as dominants have not been identified in any of the investigated territories. The greatest variety of ecological groups was noted on the territory of the Yubileyny рark, which is explained by the presence of zones with various microclimatic conditions, the presence of a birch grove that flows through the park with the Pivovarka River, and a wide log in the park. Registered species belong to eight groups of life forms belonging to two classes - zoophagous and myxophytophagous. On the numerical and species abundance, zoophages predominate. The spectrum of life forms corresponds to the zonal spectrum characteristic of the forest-steppe zone.
