Since granting independence to her former colonies (especially the countries in the West and Central Africa subregions), France has maintained tight economic, political, and to a great extent, social control over their internal and external affairs. These continued ties with France have become the subject of contentious debates (previously considered taboo) among scholars in recent times, evidenced in the development of activism in Africa and continental Europe where the former has been sensitized or radicalized about France’s exploitative approach to economic partnership. The economies of these African nations have suffered stagnation and retrogression in contrast to their non-French-influenced neighbors. This essay employs a literature review to assess the impact of French hegemony over these former colonies, therefore providing a cogent argument for the abolition of the monetary agreement in favor of a local currency, and cessation of political dependencies that also carry a negative stigma. Intellectuals and politicians have argued that the continued use of the CFA franc currency (a relic of colonialism with a different twist) is exploitative; recognized even by French politicians who have appealed to their government to employ moral and ethical considerations to desist from the persistent exploitation of Africa. Social movements have developed today in demanding that African nations still using this currency should withdraw from the agreements due to the severe negative effects on economic development.

This study aims to examine the impact of divorce: (1) knowing the existence of a divorce factor. (2) how the impact of divorce on children's behavior. (3) what is the impact of divorce on children's learning outcomes. This study uses qualitative research. The subject of this study was MI Al Khairiyah students in Duri Kosambi Cengkareng, West Jakarta who were victims of their parents' divorce. Data collection methods used in this study are interviews, data analysis includes data reduction and coding. Validation of research data uses tringgulation where researchers conduct interviews with some of the subjects to analyze their validity with other supporters. The results of this study indicate that the impact of parental divorce on children's behavior and learning outcomes can have a negative impact. Many negative effects are expressed by emotional expressions that make the child, easily sad, irritable, naughty and sometimes become quiet and inferior to his friends whose parents are not divorced. So that there is no motivation for active learning and achievement in the class because there is no support and attention of both parents for children excited in the process of learning and growth and development

<p>This article focuses on issues concerning Central Africa as depicted in the essay by Le Clézio <em>L’Africain</em> (2004)<em>. </em>The geocritical approach to the story told in the piece, will allow us to consider the polisensorism present in the scriptural, and, at times, in the pictorial language by Le Clézio, as all the senses are important and present in his perception of the African landscape. We strive to study the impact of such understanding of space on the development of the subject and its relationship with the world. We also investigate whether this empirical knowledge shapes, to some extent,  his ecological attitudes.</p>

Training needs assessments have revealed the need for people-oriented training to increase the job performance of African protected area (PA) managers. The Garoua regional wildlife college for francophone Africa (Cameroon) developed the first long (diploma and certificate) and refresher courses in community conservation for mid-career PA managers and guards from West and Central Africa. Through lectures, case studies and participatory rural appraisal exercises, the courses emphasized the development of skills for tuning principles of people participation to the conservation objectives of PAs. The present study reviews the trainees' evaluations of these courses, to appreciate their relevance and support their further development. Diploma students judged the course as highly relevant because of the acquired analytical skills, whereas certificate students considered them only of medium relevance. The response to short refresher courses varied as a function of the use of cases from either the trainees' professional experience or from the fieldwork location. The reactions of trainees to this learning opportunity show that PA personnel are not ‘attitude-limited’ as often suggested. Their constraints to develop a more people-oriented work style lie largely in the areas of knowledge and skills. These findings point to the need for increased efforts to implement training of PA personnel in community conservation, preferably early in their careers.

Withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) could be costly for U.S. beef exports to Japan given existing trade agreements such as the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA). We estimate the demand for imported beef in Japan by source and product and assess the impact of tariff reductions on exporting countries. Our results suggest JAEPA will result in considerable increases in Australian beef exports to Japan, largely at the expense of the U.S. beef. However, similar tariff reductions for U.S. beef could eliminate these negative effects and even result in a net increase in beef imports from both countries.

Abstract Background Onchocerciasis elimination through mass drug administration (MDA) is hampered by coendemicity of Loa loa, as people with high L. loa microfilariae (mf) density can develop serious adverse events (SAEs) after ivermectin treatment. We assessed the geographical overlap of onchocerciasis and loiasis prevalence and estimated the number of coinfected individuals at risk of post-ivermectin SAEs in West and Central Africa from 1995 to 2025. Methods Focusing on regions with suspected loiasis transmission in 14 countries, we overlaid precontrol maps of loiasis and onchocerciasis prevalence to calculate precontrol prevalence of coinfection by 5 km2 × 5 km2 pixel, distinguishing different categories of L. loa mf intensity. Using statistical and mathematical models, we predicted prevalence of both infections and coinfection for 2015 and 2025, accounting for the impact of MDA with ivermectin. Results The number of people infected with onchocerciasis was predicted to decline from almost 19 million in 1995 to 4 million in 2025. Of these, 137 000 people were estimated to also have L. loa hypermicrofilaremia (≥20 000 L. loa mf/mL) in 1995, declining to 31 000 in 2025. In 2025, 92.8% of coinfected cases with loiasis hypermicrofilaremia are predicted to live in hypoendemic areas currently not targeted for MDA. Conclusions Loiasis coinfection is a major concern for onchocerciasis elimination in Africa. We predict that under current strategies, at least 31 000 coinfected people still require treatment for onchocerciasis in 2025 while being at risk of SAEs, justifying continued efforts in research and development for safer drugs and control strategies.

The global transport and logistics system was one of the most affected areas as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The negative effects are based on various factors, such as the closure of State borders, the introduction of restrictions on the movement of people and goods, the disruption of supply chains, and the decline in demand and purchasing power. The combination of these factors affected all types of transport – from the use of personal and public transport in cities to passenger and freight transport both within and between countries. The scale of negative consequences depends on the type of transport and the state's integration into the global transport and logistics system. However, transport as an industry should be more resilient to the consequences of any shocks, as it is one of the backbone sectors of the country's economy. The purpose of this article is to analyze the consequences of the crisis caused by the coronovirus pandemic for the rail freight transport market. The object of the study is the territorial center of branded transport services of the Southeastern railway. The subject of the study is analytical procedures and methods for processing data on the state and prospects of changes in the cargo market.
