This paper examined the influence of job burnout on intention to quit among health service employees in Southwestern Nigeria because there has been limited attention on the influence of job burnout on intention to quit. The study population is 18,295. A sample of 380 respondents were obtained using Yamane formula. Questionnaire was administered to Nurses, Administrators, Doctors, Technologists and Pharmacists with full employment status. Data was analysed with the use of Multiple regression aided by Path Analysis. The study revealed that job burnout significantly affect intention to quit. Emotional Exhaustion (t = 3.126, p < 0.05); Depersonalization (t = 0.930, p < 0.05); Personal Accomplishment (t = 1.773, p < 0.05). The study concluded that job burnout affects intention to quit among health service employees in Southwestern Nigeria.                                                                                                                            Keywords: Job Burnout, Employment Alternative, Professional Commitment, and Social Support.

This cross sectional study on oral condition among school going children in Sylhet city was conducted at Osmani Medical High School, Dorgah Gate, Sylhet, Bangladesh. This study was carried out on 8th October, 2019 among 208 students, mostly 12 years aged studying in Class VI. The main objective of the study was to assess the oral health condition of school going children through decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) status. Data was collected by personal interview and clinical examination of the respondents. Among 208 children, 96 (46.2%) were boys and 112 (53.8%) were girls. Among all, 63 (30.3%) respondents brush their teeth once daily while 137 (65.9 %) respondents brush twice a day, and 8 (3.8 %) of them brush their teeth more than twice daily. Fluoride containing toothpaste is used by 73 (35.1 %) students, 112 (53.8 %) students did not know whether their toothpaste contain fluoride or not, and 23 (11.1 %) students do not use fluoride. Among all respondents, 125(60.09 %) did not have any decayed tooth, while 83(39.90 %) had tooth decay, and 20(9.6 %) had their teeth filled. Normal gingival condition was found in 185 (88.94 %) subjects, but 23(11.06 %) of them had red or swollen gingiva. The mean DMFT of the study population was 1.19 which is considered as “low” according to “WHO quantification for the DMFT index”. Update Dent. Coll. j: 2021; 11 (1): 4-6

This study uses a causal model survey method using path analysis techniques. This study aims to confirm the  theoretical model with empirical data, the study population is employees in Investment and Integrated Service Office  Bintan Regency, with sample of 39 employees. Data collecting technical using variable measurements by a  questionnaire instrument, this instrument was developed based on theoretical studies. Data analysis uses descriptive  statistics and statistical analysis. Statistical tests are used to test the significance of path coefficients using Partial Least  Square (PLS) which is a Multivariate Analysis in the second generation using structural equation modeling (SEM). PLS  can be used for a small number of samples and does not require the assumption that data distribution must be normal or  not. The results of the analysis found that the relationships between variables formulated in the formulation of the  problem as many as 6 pieces obtained significant results.

Abstract Background: Occupational burnout among nurses is one of the major factors which affect the quality of nursing care. Assessing the relationship between burnout and its associated factors is one of the most basic things that should be done so that later, actions can be taken to reduce burnout. Fear of COVID-19 is one of the factors that can increase burnout of nurses during the Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic.Aim: To investigate the relationship between job burnout and fear of COVID-19 among ICU and CCU nurses. Methods: The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) were distributed to ICU and CCU nurses (n = 170) at Shahid Madani Cardiac Hospital, Tabriz, Iran, and the correlation between job burnout and fear of COVID-19 was calculated. Results: The results show that the level of emotional exhaustion and reduced personal accomplishment among participants of this study is average, and depersonalization is at a low level. Also, the level of fear of coronavirus is below average among the respondents. The research showed that emotional exhaustion and fear of COVID-19 were positively correlated (p < 0.05), but there was not any significant correlation between depersonalization and fear of Coronavirus; as the relationship between reduced personal accomplishment and fear of COVID-19. In addition, there were significant correlations between age and reduced personal accomplishment, as well as marital status and reduced personal accomplishment (p < 0.05). On the other hand, the results showed that there were not any significant correlations between gender and burnout dimensions, nor between educational degree and burnout dimensions. Conclusion: As job burnout reduces the quality of nursing care, managers must take strategies that reduce job burnout. One of the strategies that they can take is to reduce the fear of COVID-19 by taking wise strategies.

The study aimed at identifying the dimensions of the quality of health service and its impact on strategic success. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the analytical descriptive method was used. The population of the study represented all private Jordanian hospitals. Due to the difficulty of reaching the whole study population, the researcher took a random sample. The number of questionnaires distributed was (220) questionnaires, of which (200) were returned. The study also concluded that the importance of quality of service in private hospitals was medium. The study recommended that the importance of quality of service should be enhanced as a part of the strategic vision when constructing the strategy in private hospitals as it received the weakest degree and the same applies to the importance of strategic success and achievement of hospital goals.

Purpose To fill the previous research gap, focusing on two constructs, i.e. perceived supervisor support (PSS) and psychological capital (PsyCap), this study aims to explore the mechanism underlying the relationship between teaching–research conflict (TRC) and job burnout among university teachers using the lens of job demands–resources (JD-R) model. Design/methodology/approach First, theoretically grounded hypotheses linking teaching–research conflict, PSS and PsyCap to job burnout were formulated. Then, a cross-sectional design was used to test the theoretical model presented in this study. Findings The results showed that TRC was positively linked to emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalization (DP), but negatively linked to personal accomplishment; PSS moderated the effect of TRC on both EE and DP but did not act as a moderator in the relationship between TRC and personal accomplishment; and PsyCap moderated the effect of TRC on all the three dimensions of job burnout. Research limitations/implications Given that the data were collected from single-source, the study was vulnerable to the common method variance. Besides, the relative small sample size limits the representativeness of the sample. Moreover, the cross-sectional design cannot confirm causal relationship between variables. Despite these limitations, the findings of this research can potentially inform effective interventions aimed at reducing the effect of TRC on job burnout among university teachers. Originality/value Based on the JD-R model, PSS and PsyCap are used to explore the effect of TRC on job burnout for the first time.

This article examines the specifics of the professional and personal deformation of the health service employees of the Internal Affairs Ministry as a special category. For the purpose of the research we used a complex of psycho diagnostical methodics including the Tikhomirova’s questionnaire on the level of professional personality deformation, the questionnaire of professional deformation as well as the technique of Tikhonova - Komb of the methodology of studying frustration reactions of health professionals under stressful professional situations, the questionnaire of Maslach-Vodopianova on professional burnout, the questionnaire on empathy adapted from Megrabian’s technique. We also used the technique of the professional activity motivation by K. Zamfir modified by A.A. Rean and methods of mathematical and statistical data processing. The authors have empirically identified psychological features of professional deformation of the health workers including a predominance of self-defensive extrapunitive reaction under conflict situations with patients, the development of professional burnout within the type of the low professional success coupled with signs of emotional exhaustion, the predominance of the external motivation to work as well as the reduced level of empathy. The career duration and educational level have proved to have influence on the specifics of the professional and personal deformation of the health service employees.
