AbstractSmall-sided games provide young soccer players with better opportunities to develop their skills and progress as individual and team players. There is, however, little evidence on the effectiveness of different game formats in different age groups, and furthermore, these formats can vary between and even within countries. The Royal Spanish Soccer Association replaced the traditional grassroots 7-a-side format (F-7) with the 8-a-side format (F-8) in the 2011-12 season and the country’s regional federations gradually followed suit. The aim of this observational methodology study was to investigate which of these formats best suited the learning needs of U-10 players transitioning from 5-aside futsal. We built a multiple logistic regression model to predict the success of offensive moves depending on the game format and the area of the pitch in which the move was initiated. Success was defined as a shot at the goal. We also built two simple logistic regression models to evaluate how the game format influenced the acquisition of technicaltactical skills. It was found that the probability of a shot at the goal was higher in F-7 than in F-8 for moves initiated in the Creation Sector-Own Half (0.08 vs 0.07) and the Creation Sector-Opponent's Half (0.18 vs 0.16). The probability was the same (0.04) in the Safety Sector. Children also had more opportunities to control the ball and pass or take a shot in the F-7 format (0.24 vs 0.20), and these were also more likely to be successful in this format (0.28 vs 0.19).

This study shows how simple and multiple logistic regression can be used in observational methodology and more specifically, in the fields of physical activity and sport. We demonstrate this in a study designed to determine whether three-a-side futsal or five-a-side futsal is more suited to the needs and potential of children aged 6-to-8 years. We constructed a multiple logistic regression model to analyze use of space (depth of play) and three simple logistic regression models to determine which game format is more likely to potentiate effective technical and tactical performance.

Abstract Background Obesity and homocysteine (Hcy) are two important risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD); however, there were conflicting results for the relationship between them. Our study is to explore the associations of general and central obesity with hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) in middle-aged women. Methods The current analysis was based on data from 11007 women aged 40-60 years. Height, weight, and waist circumference (WC) were measured and serum homocysteine was determined. Multiple logistic regression models were used to assess the associations of the risk of hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy, Hcy>15μmol/L) with BMI and WC. Results 13.71% women had HHcy. The prevalences of BMI-based general obesity and WC-based central obesity were 11.17% and 22.88%, respectively. Compared with non-obese women, the mean serum Hcy concentration was significantly higher in WC-based central obese women (P = 0.002), but not in BMI-based general obese women (P > 0.05). In the multiple logistic regression models, central obesity was positively related to the risk of HHcy (OR = 1.30, 95%CI=1.10 to 1.52), while general obesity was inversely related to the risk of HHcy (OR = 0.82, 95%CI=0.72 to 0.93 and OR = 0.71,95% CI = 0.57 to 0.89). Conclusions Central obesity was positively, while general obesity was negatively related to the risk of HHcy. Menopause showed no effect modification on these associations. Summary Objectives: A low rate of newly developed pressure ulcers is considered as an important quality indicator in nursing. However, the result of a hospital depends not only on the quality of care but on the risk profile of its patients as well. Therefore, based on multiple logistic regression models we describe a method for calculating risk-adjusted quality indicators in nursing. Method: Based on data of 1,009,989 patients from 1747 hospitals in 2009, we developed two multiple logistic regression models to identify and to weigh a possible joint influence of several risk factors on newly developed pressure ulcers. In a further step, we calculated risk-adjusted rates. Results: Factors remaining in the regression models were “micro-movements on admission”, “diabetes mellitus”, “age” and “days on intensive care unit”. Based on the corresponding regression coefficients and the logistic function, the expected rate of newly developed pressure ulcers was calculated for every hospital. Fi nally, expected rates and observed rates both were used to calculate risk-adjusted rates. Conclusion: The simultaneous consideration of relevant risk factors by means of risk- adjusted quality indicators ensures a fair comparison of hospitals.

Jabodetabek and Sarbagita have the highest worker commuter population in Indonesia. However, Jabodetabek has various and larger coverage of public transport than Sarbagita. This study also analyzes the relationship between the usage of specific transport modes and commuting stress. Multiple logistic regression models have been estimated using data of both Jabodetabek Commuter Survey and Sarbagita Commuter Survey. Using logistic regressions, the results show that mode choices, gender, and travel time have a significant effect on commuting stress. The analysis also indicates that both in high impedance and low impedance metropolitans, car commuting is perceived to be more stressful than non-car commuting. In a condition of restricted mode choices, commuters who use cars have a greater probability of commuting stress. Furthermore, the findings of this study imply limitation of car usage and as an evaluation of the policy of opening toll roads as a solution to urban congestion.

Abstract Background Little is known regarding the effect of exposure to biomass fuel smoke inhalation on respiratory symptoms in the Bangladeshi population which is a major health hazard in most of the developing countries. This study aims to explore the association between respiratory symptoms and biomass fuel smoke exposure among children under 5 years of age. Methods Data were extracted from the Bangladesh Urban Health Survey conducted in 2013. A total of 10,575 mothers with at least one surviving children were selected. Respiratory symptoms among children under 5 years of age were considered as the primary outcome. Sequential multiple logistic regression models were used to observe the association between respiratory symptoms and biomass fuel smoke exposure adjusting the effect of residential factors and mother and child characteristics. Results Around 40% of the mothers exclusively used biomass fuel irrespective of the kitchen location and 54% of them were habituated in indoor cooking. The prevalence of respiratory symptoms of under-five children among in-house and outdoor biomass fuel users was 23.0% and 21.9%, respectively. Results of fitted multiple logistic regression models showed that the odds of having respiratory symptoms among children under 5 years of age were increased due to in-house biomass fuel use [OR = 1.18; 95% CI, 1.04–1.36] compared with the non-biomass user. An increased risk of respiratory symptoms was also significantly associated with mother’s birth complication [OR = 1.51; 95% CI, 1.36–1.67], non-government organization (NGO) membership of mothers [OR = 1.32; 95% CI, 1.16–1.51], age of the child (6–23m) [OR = 1.29; 95% CI, 1.10–1.52], and nutritional status (stunting) [OR = 1.18; 95% CI, 1.06–1.31]. Conclusion This study found the use of in-house biomass fuel as a significant risk factor associated with respiratory symptoms of children under 5 years of age. More longitudinal studies should be designed to establish a causal relationship between HAP (household air pollution) and respiratory symptoms among children with more direct measures of HAP and clinical procedure.

Abstract Background Engaging in preventive behaviors, including face mask wearing and social distancing, has been widely recommended, and in some cases mandated, to limit the spread of the COVID-19 disease. Despite wide-scale use, there is little data available on engagement of mask wearing and social distancing in college students and associated COVID-19 infection. Methods A school-wide online survey was conducted (2021) among university students (n=2,132) in California. Frequency of mask-wearing and social distancing (indoors or public settings) and diagnosis with COVID-19 infection were measured. Multiple logistic regression models assessed associations between i) mask-wearing and ii) social distancing and COVID-19 infection, controlling for race, age, gender, and living with people who have high-risk health conditions. Results Fourteen percent (14.06%) reported previous COVID-19 infection. Most students reported wearing masks in public settings (77.9%) and indoors (58%). About half (49.9%) reported social distancing in public settings and 44.9% indoors. In multiple logistic regression models, wearing a mask indoors was associated with 30% lower odds of COVID-19 infection (OR= 0.70; 95% CI: 0.54,0.91) but no statistically significant association was observed for wearing a mask outdoors (OR= 0.80; 95% CI: 0.59,1.08). Social distancing indoors and outdoors was associated with a 34% (OR= 0.66; 95% CI: 0.50,0.86) and 32% (OR= 0.68; 95% CI: 0.52,0.88) decrease in the odds of infection, respectively. COVID-19 infection declined as the number of preventive behaviors a student engaged in increased. Compared to those who engaged in no preventive behavior, the odds of infection were 0.71 (95% CI: 0.46,1.11) among students engaging in one behavior, 0.70 (95% CI: 0.46,1.07) in two behaviors, 0.42 (95% CI: 0.25,0.70) in three behaviors, and 0.48 (95% CI: 0.31,0.74) among those who engaged in all four behaviors. Conclusion Wearing face masks and social distancing were both associated with lower odds of COVID-19 infection. The more preventive behaviors students engaged in the less frequently they reported COVID-19 infection. Our findings support existing guidelines promoting mask wearing and social distancing to limit the spread of COVID-19 disease. Disclosures All Authors: No reported disclosures

INTRODUCTION Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant (allo-HSCT) could be the only curative therapy for patients with hematological malignancies due to graft effect against tumor. However, approximately 40% of patients develop post-transplantation complications such as acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD). Cytokines and their receptors are involved in regulatory and inflammatory processes that occur during GVHD. Therefore, the analysis of polymorphisms (SNPs) that affect the expression or activity of these genes could be used as biomarkers to predict the development of these complication. The aim of this study was to select new polymorphisms in cytokine genes (interleukins, chemokines and their receptors) to build models to predict the development of aGVHD after allo-HSCT from an HLA-identical sibling donor. METHODS We retrospectively selected 88 patients with hematological malignancies who received an allo-HSCT from an HLA-identical sibling donor from 2000 to 2015. A total of 176 pre-transplant recipient (R) and donor (D) peripheral blood samples were collected. The genotyping was performed using an enrichment-capture gene panels (include 132 genes (73 interleukins, 59 chemokines) in a HiSeq platform (Illumina, USA). The bioinformatic analysis was carried out with the GeneSystemssoftware (Sistemas Genómicos, Spain). Variants located in coding region, splicing sites, and UTR, 5'upstream and 3'downstream zones (+ 200pb) were analyzed. We selected polymorphisms corresponding to non-synonymous variants, represented in at least 5% of our cohort, with readings ≥30X in the canonical isoformwith an allele frequency ≥ 0.4. Fisher test was used to compare the differences among groups. Multiple logistic regression models were performed using combination of interleukins and chemokines polymorphisms selected previously that could be applied to clinical practice to predict aGVHD. The models with the highest AUC value, sensitivity and specificity value and the lowest number of genetic variants used were selected.Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS, Chicago, USA) was used for statistical test. RESULTS The cumulative incidence rates for aGVHD of grades II-IV and III-IV at 100 days after transplantation were 48.93% and 18.08%, respectively. The clinical variables (age, gender, pathology, stem cell source and previous transplantation) were not correlated with II-IV or III-IV aGVHD. However, patients who received ablative conditioning regimen presented a lower incidence of III-IV aGVHD (p= 0.041). Using filters defined previously, we detected 481 polymorphisms (350 coincident, 68 specific R and 63 for D) in the interleukins group. On the other hand, we detected 339 polymorphisms (267 coincident, 29 specific R and 43 for D) in the group of chemokines. Finally, 17 polymorphisms were selected in the interleukin group and 10 in the chemokine group for its correlation with the aGVHD (p <0.05). Specifically, 14 SNPs were correlated with II-IV aGVHD (Table 1) and 12 SNPs with III-IV aGVHD (Table 2). Most polymorphisms found are located in regulatory regions, which until have been little studied, but these regions are involved in the expression genes, therefore could be affecting the function of these genes. We developed multiple logistic regression models for II-IV and III-IV aGVHD in interleukins and chemokines genes (Table 3). The identification of these 15 polymorphisms could help us to prevent the developing II-IV and III-IV aGVHD. CONCLUSIONS We have identified new genetic polymorphisms correlate with the risk of developing aGVHD after allo-HSCT from an HLA-identical sibling donor. Based on these data, we have developed a genetic score that encompasses polymorphisms of greater relevance. In this way, patients at greatest risk for developing this type of post-transplantation complication who could benefit from personalized management through immunosuppression and other drugs. Category: Bunion; Midfoot/Forefoot Introduction/Purpose: Hallux valgus can alter load bearing in the foot and may result in secondary pathologies such as hammertoes of the second ray. However, there has been little research on the development of second ray pathology in patients with pre-existing hallux valgus. Additionally, most research examining these three-dimensional foot deformities relies on two- dimensional plain radiographs. The goal of this study was to determine if hallux valgus is associated with second ray hammertoes using three-dimensional weightbearing CT scans. Methods: 71 patients who underwent a modified Lapidus procedure for hallux valgus and had preoperative weightbearing CT scans were separated into 2 outcome groups: (1) hallux valgus only (47 feet), and (2) hallux valgus with second ray hammertoe (29 feet). Preoperative age, BMI, sex, hallux valgus angle (HVA), intermetatarsal angle (IMA), absolute and effective first, second, and third metatarsal lengths, the ratios between metatarsal lengths, Meary’s angle, metatarsus adductus angle (MAA), and pronation were measured. Mean values of continuous variables were compared using one-way ANOVA tests or Kruskal-Wallis tests. Simple logistic regression models were created to evaluate associations between variables and hammertoe occurrence: (1) comparing hammertoe to hallux valgus only, (2) comparing hammertoe to hallux valgus with mild hammertoe removed, and (3) comparing hammertoe to hallux valgus with severe hammertoe removed. Multivariable logistic regression models were generated to evaluate potential risk factors for hammertoe after adjusting for patient age and BMI. Results: Patients in the hammertoe group were found to be significantly older and have significantly higher BMIs, HVAs, effective second MT lengths, IMAs, and more apex plantar Meary’s angles (all P-values < 0.05). BMI and HVA were also found to be significant predictors of second ray hammertoe in simple logistic regression models (OR=5.66 (95% CI: 1.67-22.79) and OR=4.5 (95% CI: 1.13-21.06), respectively). The multivariable analysis demonstrated that higher IMA and a more apex plantar Meary’s angle were the only significant predictors of second ray hammertoe risk (P= 0.03 and P = 0.01, respectively) once corrected for age and BMI. Conclusion: Significant associations were found between older age, higher BMI, and more severe deformity and the occurrence of hammertoe in hallux valgus patients. These relationships may aid in determining which patients are at a greater risk of progressing to secondary pathologies and which patients could potentially benefit from earlier surgical intervention to correct hallux valgus.
